Lavendar thank you from an Oldie

Yesterday I was selling my stamp sets on-line and came across the Fabulous Flora (retired hostess) stamp set.  What really surprised me was my reluctance to part with some of my sets - well, a lot of my sets.  But I was determined and managed to sell a good number of them.

Back to the Fabulous Flora stamp set.  I couldn't resist one last 'stamp'.  The card is below:

The lavender image was stamped twice and colored with blendabilites.  The background dots were stamped with the Timeless Texture dot stamp.

Looking at the flowers I realized something was missing.  While sitting in the patio this afternoon and lazily watched a honey bee flit from flower to flower  I realized what it was. A bumble bee.  The flowers needed a bumble bee.  The one on this card  is from "Garden in Bloom"

The image was die cut with the stitched circle framelit, and matted with a Fresh Fig scallop circle. The two were adhered together with dimensionals.

Around this focal image two silver foil doillies cut in half were adhered to the circle.  This unit  was then hadhered to the card front using dimensionals.

The card base of Fresh Fig is matted with a Whisper White layer embossed with the Layered Petals Embossing Folder which was also brayered with Pool Party ink.  On the bottom part is some Tranquil Texture DSP with 1/4" white organza ribbon added to the top

The sentiment is from Hand Delivered.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Fabulous Flora, Hand Delivered, Timeless Texture, Garden in Bloom
Inks:  Black Memento, Blends (Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue), Basic Black marker, Pear Pizzazz. Pool Party
Papers:  Tranquil Tide, Whisper White, Tranquil Texture DSP

Boxed card set using One Sheet Wonder

For the longest tine I did not know what "One Sheet Wonder" meant, and a poll from my class determined that they had never heard of it as well.  So I did a Pinterest search and had my "Ah-ah" moment, so I gave it a try.

There are several templates available, so I decided to use one for an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of card stock/DSP
.
This gives ideas on how to make 7 cards from this one sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of DSP or card stock.  It's also a project I want to do in class. But first I wanted to go through the process myself.

For class I used a 8 1/2 by 11 piece of DSP from "Whole Lot of Lovely"but there is the option  for stamping my own. Below are the 7 cards I made.  The book to make the card will be shown at the end of this post.

Card #1:

Card base is Thick Whisper White card stock, with a strip of 1 1/2" Whisper White matted with Calypso Coral card stock added  to the card front.  The flower is from "Garden in Bloom"

Card #2

Card basis is Tangerine Tango.  The triangular piece of DSP has a strip of the reverse of the DSP added to the edge.  A 2 by 3 1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock punched with the Scallop top tag punch is stamped with the sentient etc from the "Garden in Bloom" stamp set.  The ribbon is shimmer pool party held in place with a staple.

Card #3

The other half of the triangular piece of DSP is added  to a Tranquil Tide base.  Again, a strip of the reverse side of the DSP is added along the edge of the DSP.  The sentiment is stamped on a 2 by 3 1/2" tag with a piece of Pool Party shimmer ribbon through the top of the tag held in place with a staple.  Sentient is from "Better Together" , flower from "Garden in Bloom"

Card #4

This Tranquil Tide top fold card is layered with Whisper White embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder.  The 3D flower is from "Garden in Bloom"

Card #5

The Thick Whisper White card has it's card front embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.  The DSP is matted with Basic Back card stock before adhering it to the card front.

Card #6

The Tranquil Tide top fold card has a strip of Soft Suede card stock added to the left side of the DSP with a Pear Pizzazz ribbon and bow adhered over top of that.  The sentiment from "Garden in Bloom" is die cut with the Layering Oval framelit.  It is matted with a scallop Tranquil Tide oval.

Card #7

For the final card the DSP is cut into four 1 by 2 3/4" pieces and adhered to a Tranquil Tide piece of card stock and then Whisper White.  This panel is added to a Tangerine Tango cardstock base.  The sentiment is from "Better Together" is matted with Tranquil Tide card stock and added to the lower right of the art piece.

Tanquil Tulips Thank You

Today was my catalogue Open House, and as a thank you I made one of these cards for each of my down line to thank them for all their help.

Each tulip was first stamped with Berry Burst, after first stamping off.  The second image was stamped full strength.  I stamped a second image on a separate piece of Whisper White, cut it out, and placed it over the tulips to give them a 3D effect. Wink of Stella was applied to each tulip.

The stamens of each tulip were stamped with Black Memento ink, and the stems and leaves with Lucky Limeade  ink.  For added interest I added a bumble bee from Garden in Bloom.

Around the bottom was adhered a 1/2" Berry Burst finely woven ribbon.

The sentiment is from "All Thinks Thanks" and is added to the top of the ribbon with dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Tranquil Tulips, Garden in Bloom, All things Thanks
Inks:  Berry Burst, Black Memento, Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black marker
Papers:  Berry Burst, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Accessories:  1/2" Berry Burst finely  woven ribbon, dimensionals, Wink of Stella

Garden in Bloom - Fab Friday #85

The weather has been so warm that last couple of days I'm almost hoping that spring has finally arrived.
The card I did for the Fab Friday challenge is a spring scene, with butterflies, flowers and bees and is from the stamp set "Garden in Bloom"

The first thing I stamped was the sentiment, which I stamped in the centre using the stamp-a-ma-jig.  The other images were stamped around it.
So, around this sentiment, on Whisper White piece, , I stamped yellow and brown butterflies (2 step stamping), pink and red roses with green leaves.  And to top it off, 2 bumble bees which were stamped separately, cut out and adhered in 2 different places.
For bling, I added some In Colour Assortment sequins.  On the bees wings, I put some dazzling details, which made the wings look almost translucent.

The Whisper White focal piece was matted with Top Top Taupe, with a 1/2 piece of White Paper Doillie attached underneath it at the bottom.
Near the top, I placed a strip of Rose Red carstock notched at both ends.  Underneath that a Smaller strip in Tip Top Taupe both notched at each end as well.

The matted image piece was attached to the card front using dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Garden in Bloom
Inks:Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Tip Top Taupe, Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Always artichoke, Basic Black
Papers: Hello Honey, Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White, Rose Red, English Garden DSP
Accessories: Doillie, In Color Sequins, dimensionals

Botanical English Garden - Try Stampin on Tuesday #263

It may be Easter Weekend, but the weather makes it feel more like Christmas.  A wicked ice storm passed through the region, leaving many without power because of downed hydro wires.

For the challenge at Try Stampin on Tuesday I combined a DSP, the coordinating stamp set, and the Botanical dies. I chose not to use an Easter theme.

  • The base cardstock is Hello Honey cardstock, layered with Whisper White.
  • On the Whisper White layer, three 1 1/4" squares of English Garden DSP matted with 1 3/8" of Hello Honey cardstock were adhered near the bottom.  Prior to adhering, the corners of all were rounded using the corner rounder punch and the edges were sponged with Tip Top Taupe ink.  The two layers were adhered using dimensionals.
  • One of the Botanical flowers was die cut using Hello Honey cardstock; the middle in Tip Top Taupe.  The edges were sponged with Tip Top Taupe prior to adhering using dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is from "And Many More", cut into a banner and adhered just under the flower above the squares.
  • On the space above the squares, images of bees and butterflies were randomly stamped using Tip Top Taupe and Hello Honey.  These images were from "Garden in Bloom"
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Garden in Bloom, And Many More
Inks: Tip Top Taupe, Hello Honey
Papers: Hello Honey, Whisper White, English Garden DSP, Tip Top Taupe
Accessories: 1 1/4" square punch, 1 3/8" square punch, corner rounder punch, Botanical Builder dies, dimensionals
