Tropical Escape Congratulations - Paper Players #420

This week at the Paper Players Blog, the challenge is a sketch challenge.  There's nothing I love better than a sketch challenge.

I learned something new about importing pictures from my phone to my computer using an app and my Wi Fi connection.  Usually I struggle with cords or if I can't find the cord then I download the pictures into my e-mail and then download into a file etc etc.  It's quite a process.  Now, with this free app I scan the picture directly into my computer through my Wi Fi.  Marvelous!!  I feel quite proud of myself. And the time I have saved!

Back to my card.  Below is a picture of the card I made for the Paper Players sketch challenge #420

On a Granny Apple card stock card base I adhere a Whisper White layer embossed with the tufted embossing folder.

On this embossed layer I adhere two strips of Tropical Escape DSP both matted with Granny Apple card stock.  The first piece if 1 1/4" by 4", and the second 1 1/2 by 4".  In the center is a 1 1/2" square upon which is a Tropical leaf and flower embellishment.

The large tropical leaves were fussy cut from the DSP, as were the 3 pink flowers. After sponging the edges of the leaves with Mossy Meadow ink and the flowers with Petal Pink ink I shaped them and adhered them to the 1 1/2" square using a hot glue gun.  Some Clear Wink of Stella was applied to the leaves, and pink rhinestones were placed in the center of the flowers.

The sentiment, from "Hand Delivered" was punched with the Classic Label punch and adhered below the embellishment.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Hand Delivered
Inks:  Black Memento, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink
Papers:  Granny Apple Green, Tropical Escape DSP
Accessories:  Pink rhinestones, hot glue gun, Clear Wink of Stella

Dandilion on Bokeh Background

The Bokeh background stamps save you so much time making a similar background from 'scratch'.  I remember taking hours using stencils with different sizes of circles, daubers with various concentrations of ink, etc to make a Bokeh background.  Now we have a stamp.

The stamparatus was used to stamp the Bokeh dots background image in the center of a 3 3/4 by 5" piece of Whisper White card stock using Balmy Blue ink.

The Dandelion image was embossed with black embossing powder, as was the sentiment (from Hand Delivered).

This art piece was matted with Balmy Blue card stock, which was adhered to a Basic black card stock base.

The sentiment was punched with a 1 1/4" circle punch, matted with a 1 3/8 Scallop black circle punch, with a dimensional,  and then a 1 1/2" Balmy blue circle.  This unit was adhered to the lower right card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Dandelion Wishes, Bokeh dots, Hand Delivered
Inks:  Balmy Blue, Versa Mark
Papers:  Basic Black, Balmy Blue, Whisper White
Accessories:  Stamparatus, Black Embossing Powder, 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" circle punches, 1 3/8" Scallop circle punch, Dimensionals

I love the Rose with the  "Healing Hugs" stamp set and made that the focal image of the card

It was stamped with Rich Razzelberry ink, with the two sets of leaves being stamped with Old Olive ink.  Al
l were fussy cut and set aside.

The smaller flower is from Pop of Petal and was also stamped with Rich Razzelberry ink.  The Four Petal Punch, which coordinates with this stamp set was used to punch out the flower   All petals were sponged with the same color of ink, after which the petals were shaped and the ends  turned over.  A gold faceted gem was added to the flower center. I did add some Clear Wink of Stella on the smaller flower but it made the ink run, but I don't mind the effect.

The card base is Coastal Cabana, layered with Very Vanilla embossed with the Striped Scallop Textured Embossing Folder, and a 1 1/4" strip of Tea Room DSP adhered to the left side.  Some 1/8" copper edged Coastal Cabana ribbon was added to the edge of the DSP.

The flowers were arranged as in the picture.  The Rose was adhered with dimensionals with one set of leaves at the top and the other near the bottom.  The smaller flower was also added with a dimensional on top of the rose near the bottom.

A bow made of the same ribbon was added below the flowers.

The sentiment, stamped in Rich Razzelberry on a strip of Very Vanilla which was notched at one end, was matted with Coastal Cabana and added at the bottom of the rose.

To finish the card, three more gold faceted gems were added to the card front.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Healing Hugs, Pop of Petals, Hand Delivered
Inks:  Rich Razzelberry, Old Olive,
Papers:  Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, Tea Room DSP
Accessories:  1/8" copper edged Coastal Cabana ribbon, Gold Faceted Gems, Striped Scallop Textured Embossing Folder, Four Petal Punch, Dimensionals, Clear Wink of Stella

Lavendar thank you from an Oldie

Yesterday I was selling my stamp sets on-line and came across the Fabulous Flora (retired hostess) stamp set.  What really surprised me was my reluctance to part with some of my sets - well, a lot of my sets.  But I was determined and managed to sell a good number of them.

Back to the Fabulous Flora stamp set.  I couldn't resist one last 'stamp'.  The card is below:

The lavender image was stamped twice and colored with blendabilites.  The background dots were stamped with the Timeless Texture dot stamp.

Looking at the flowers I realized something was missing.  While sitting in the patio this afternoon and lazily watched a honey bee flit from flower to flower  I realized what it was. A bumble bee.  The flowers needed a bumble bee.  The one on this card  is from "Garden in Bloom"

The image was die cut with the stitched circle framelit, and matted with a Fresh Fig scallop circle. The two were adhered together with dimensionals.

Around this focal image two silver foil doillies cut in half were adhered to the circle.  This unit  was then hadhered to the card front using dimensionals.

The card base of Fresh Fig is matted with a Whisper White layer embossed with the Layered Petals Embossing Folder which was also brayered with Pool Party ink.  On the bottom part is some Tranquil Texture DSP with 1/4" white organza ribbon added to the top

The sentiment is from Hand Delivered.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Fabulous Flora, Hand Delivered, Timeless Texture, Garden in Bloom
Inks:  Black Memento, Blends (Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue), Basic Black marker, Pear Pizzazz. Pool Party
Papers:  Tranquil Tide, Whisper White, Tranquil Texture DSP
Accessories:  Layered Leaves Embossing Folder, Brayer, Dimensionals, Silver Doillies,, glitter (non SU), 1/8" white organza ribbon

A Pressed Flower Thank You Using Swirly Frames

I love the Swirly Frames stamp set as the frames provide an outline for many images, such as the Pressed Flowers below.

The images were inked with Gorgeous Grape and Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow markers and stamped onto Whisper White which had been stamped with the rectangle swirly frame.  The frame itself was colored with a marker, then cut out and matted with Elegant Eggplant card stock.

Around the image I stamped dot stamps from the Timeless Texture stamp set using Highland Heather ink, and stamping off first.

On both sides of the stem, I punched a 1/8" hole using the hand held punch, inserted a 1/4" organza ribbon through it and tied it into a bow.

The sentiment was stamped inside a smaller square frame which was also cut out and the edges sponged. A small flower was stamped in the lower right corner.  This was adhered to the art piece and the card front using dimensionals only on one side.

The base card is Elegant Eggplant layered with Whisper White embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder with the edges sponged with Elegant eggplant ink.

A white paper doillie was added to the card front before adding the art piece with dimensionals.

Dazzling diamonds were added to the flower centers, and metallic  enamel shapes to the upper right and on the sentiment square as well.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Swirly Frames, Pressed Flowers, Hand Delivered, Timeless Texture
Inks:  Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow markers, Highland Heather, Elegant Eggplant
Papers:  Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White,
Accessories:  Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes, Layered Leaves Embossing Folder, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals. 1/4" white organza ribbon, 1/8" hand held punch.

Lovely Floral Birthday

Today is the last day to order from the "old" catalogue as well as the "Occasions" catalogue.  Yes, the new catalogue launches tomorrow afternoon.

To highlight this event, I made this birthday card, using a number of the new products.

Mint Macaron has made a come back in the new catalogue and I use that color as my card base.  Plus this is one of the colors in the Love What You Do DSP so the two coordinate very nicely.
The card base is layered with Whisper White which has been embossed with the new Lovely Floral Dynamic Impression Embossing Folder.

The DSP was added on top of that, and then I added some 3/8" shimmery Pool Party  ribbon over the seam

Another new accessory is the pearl doilies and I added one just to the right of the card front.  It picks up the pearl embedded in the DSP.  The sentiment was placed in the center of the doillie.
To make the embellishment, I fussy cut a flower from the DSP and punched two leaves using the Leaf Punch,  After sponging and shaping the leaves, they were added above and below the flower.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Hand Delivered
Ink:  Mint Macaron, Old Olive
Papers:  Mint Macaron, Whisper white, Pear Pizzazz, Love What You Do DSP
Accessories:  Lovely Floral Dynamic Impression Embossing Folder, 3/8" Shimmering Pool Party ribbon, Pearl Doillie, Leaf Punch, Dimensionals.

A "Wobbly" Thank You

This card, made with the hostess stamp "Hand Delivered" is waving at you!  Thank you, thank you!  How did I do that??

Wobbles!

I  places a "wobble" between 2 thank you signs, making it a fun interactive card.

In the center of a Ruffled embossed Whisper White layer I adhered a 2 by 5 1/4" strip of Love What you Do DSP edged with Rich Razzelberry decorative ribbon strips.

Before adhering this to the card front I added some 1/4" Rich Razzelberry velvet ribbon as well as some ribbon tied into a knot.

For the starring character I changed up the pattern of her skirt and placed a Thank you sign in her hands.  I stamped a second sign, cut it out and set it aside.  After I finished coloring her, I fussy cut her, and then adhered the 2 signs   together with a small wobble. Some Clear Wink of Stella applied to the sign finished it off nicely.  Using dimensionals, the image was adhered to a pearlized doillie behind which I had placed a 2 1/4" Whisper White punched circle.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Hand Delivered
Inks:  Black Memento, Blendabilities
Papers:  Rich Razzelberry, Whisper White, Love What You Do DSP
Accessories:  Pearl Doillie, 2 1/2" circle punch, wobble(non SU), 1/4" Rich Razzelberry velvet ribbon, Rich Razzelberry glimmer gems (non SU), Ruffles Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Clear Wink of Stella

Happy Birthday Graceful Vellum - another catalogue sneak peak

I'm just loving the new Graceful Vellum and here is another card made using that specialty DSP.

I start with a base slightly larger than usual - 4 1/4 by 12 folded in half to form a 4 1/4 by 6" top folding card.  This is layered at the bottom by  a 2 by 4" piece of Whisper White card stock embossed with the Trellis embossing folder.  Some 1/4" Rich Razzelberry velvet ribbon was adhered to the top of this embossed piece before adhering it to the card front.

The vellum image was colored with blendabilites and matted with Whisper White card stock before adding it to card front with dimensionals,  The sentiment is from "Hand Delivered".  Some Clear Wink of Stella applied to the colored images really make them "pop".

Some self adhesive sequins added randomly finishes the card off nicely.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Hand Delivered
Inks:  Rich Razzelberry, Blendabilites
Papers:  Rich Razzelberry ,Whisper White, Graceful Vellum DSP
Accessories:  Trellis EmbossingFolder,1/4" velvet Rich Razzelberry ribbon, Dimensionals, Clear Wink of Stella, Tutti Fruiti self adhesive sequins.

A Shaker Balloon Card - another catalogue sneak peak

This shaker card is more of a traditional one in that it uses window sheets.

It is non traditional in that the entire image, from the hostess stamp set "Hand Delivered" is fussy cut and the shaker element is part of a bunch of balloons.

The image was stamped on a 2 1/2 by 5" piece of Whisper White card stock. Before coloring the balloons with watercolor pencils and an aqua painter, I punched a  1 1/4" circle in the lower middle balloon. This I covered on the inside with  some window sheet.

This stamp set has various options for different skirts, so I chose the stripes and used a Rich Razzelberry water color pencil to fill in just the stripes.

The entire image was fussy cut and adhered with foam tape to a 4 by 2 1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock matted with Rich Razzelberry card stock.  I used the retired "Sprinkle Embellishments" for the shaker elements.

The base card is Rich Razzelberry card stock layered with Whisper White followed by a 2 by 5 1/4" striped piece of Perfect Picture Party DSP.  Over the seam I adhered some 3/8" mini chevron Bermuda Bay ribbon.

The focal image was added to the card front slightly off center.  On the right side some Bermuda Bay enamel dots were added.

I die cut the sentiment using the retired "Bitty Banners Framelits"  and added it just handing under the balloons.

As a final touch some 3D enamel lacquer was added to the balloons to give them that shiny appearance.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Hand Delivered
Inks:  Black Memento, Watercolor pencils
Papers:  Rich Razzelberry, Whisper White, Perfect Picture Party DSP
Accessories:  ! 1/4" circle punch, Window Sheet, Sprinkles embellishments, foam tape, Bitty Banners Framelits, 3D lacquer, Bermuda Bay enamel dots, 3/8" mini chevron Bermuda Bay ribbon, blender pen
