A Translucent Floral Thank You

Not long ago, I received a phone call requesting assistance in pricing and then selling art supplies belonging to a family member who recently died. To compensate for my time I was informed that I could purchase anything I wanted at a substantially reduced price.  Later that was changed to "take what you want"

When I saw the craft room and the contents I gasped! So many supplies!  Stamps, inks, papers, embellishments, die cutters, dies, scan n cuts, paints, markers, embossing powders, embossing folders etc - many were still in the store packaging and had never been used.

I did manage to take a fair bit home.

As a thank you, myself and another person are taking this generous person to lunch..  In addition I made a thank you card, using the Translucent Floral bundle.

To make the flowers I first coloured some Vellum card stock, on the wrong side and on different  sections. , using Claypso Coral, Bubble Bath and Flirty Flamingo stamp n blends. I then die cut three floral petals in each colour.  The centers were die cut in Basic Black card stock, and the leaves from the Delightful Floral DSP.

I shaped each of the floral petals before adhering them to form the flower.  I used glue dots to do so.  The centers were added using liquid glue. Each leaf was folded in half and sponged with Mossy Meadow ink before adhering them to the flowers.

On the card base of Calypso Coral was added a Basic Black layer, followed by Basic White embossed with the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder.  The 3 flowers were added to the left front.

The sentiment was from "All Things Thanks", was stamped in Basic Black on Basic White and matted with Calypso Coral.  It was added to the lower right.

Several Iridescent Shaker circles were added randomly on the card front. An Opal Round was added to the center of each flower.

Supplies Used:

Stamps:  Translucent Floral, All Things Thanks

Inks:  Basic Black, Stampin' Markers (Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Bubble Bath), Mossy Meadow

Papers:  Calypso Coral, Basic White, Vellum cardstock, Basic Black, Delightful Floral DSP

Accessories:  Translucent Floral dies, Quantrefoil embossing folder, Iridescent Shaker Circles, Opal rounds.

All a Flutter -Butterflies Everywhere

I'll never forget the time I went to the Butterfly Emporium on the other side of Toronto.  It was winter and as I walked into a hot humid room I gasped with surprise! Large  butterflies with turquoise wings were flying around everywhere! Their beauty and grace astonished me.   One landed on my head and I stood still with bated breath, not wanting  to scare it, not wanting it to leave.

When I saw the Butterfly Gala stamp set memories of that day came flooding back.  My card today reflects, in some way, those memories.  I wore a polka dot shirt that day, with  dark burgundy pants.

The "Share what you Love" DSP was perfect and provided the colour scheme for the rest of the card.
The card base of Mint Macaron was layered with Whisper White  embossed with the Layered Leaf  Embossing Folder.

On top of this was added a strip of dotted  DSP with Mint Macaron strips punched with the Decorative Ribbon Punch along both long sides. I coloured some 1/4" white organza ribbon with a Mint Macaron blendability and placed it on the left side of the DSP before attaching it to the Whisper White layer.

On a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, two butterfly pairs (each stamp is comprised of a large and small butterfly) and coloured them with a Mint Macaron Stampin' Blendability.  They were then punched with the Duet Butterfly punch and the edges sponged with Basic Gray ink. Clear Wink of Stella applied to their wings gave them an almost  translucent appearance.

Glue dots were used to adhere the butterflies to the card front.  One of the smaller ones was added to the top of the sentiment, which is from "All Things Thanks"; the second one was reserved for the inside of the card. Their little antennae were stamped directly onto the card front.

A Blackberry Bliss blendability was used to colour three pearls which were then placed on the upper right of the card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Butterfly Gala, All Thing Thanks
Inks:  Black Memento, Mint Macaron (Light and dark) Blendabilities, Blackberry Bliss Blendability, Mint Macaron marker
Papers:  Mint Macaron, Whisper White, Share What You Love DSP
Accessories:  Duet Butterfly punch, Decorative Edge Ribbon punch, 1/4" white organza ribbon (retired), Pearls, Layered Leaves Embossing Folder, Glue Dots

A Wintery Thank You - Hand Stamped Sentiments #303

The challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments #303 is an Inspirational one.  And, since I am finished making my Christmas cards, I thought I would make a Thank you card.

The base card is Mossy Meadow, and the art piece was built on a 3 3/4 by 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I used the large tree stamp from "Winter Woods", stamping it with Mossy Meadow ink, and then stamping it and second and third time without inking up again.  On the ground below the trees I added some dazzling diamonds.

The bird was stamped and coloured with Stampin' Blends (Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight) on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, then fussy cut and mounted , using dimensionals, on a die cut circle  embossed with the Layered Leaf embossing folder.  I added a tiny pearl to emphasize the eye of the bird. This circle was matted with Lucky Limeade card stock using dimensionals and added to the card front.

Three Holly and Ivy images were stamped from "Spirited Snowmen", colored with Stampin' Blends, then fussy cut and added above and below the bird.

The sentiment is from "All Things Thanks"

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  All Things Thanks, Winter Woods, Bird by Stacey Stamps, Spirited Snowmen
Inks:  Black Memento, Stampin Blends:  Bird:  Calypso Coral (light and dark), Crumb Cake (light), Basic Black marker;   Holly and Ivy:  Granny Apple Green (light and dark), Cherry Cobbler (light and dark), Mossy Meadow
Papers:  Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Accessories:  Layering Circle Framelits, Dazzling Diamonds, Red Glitter, Layering Petals Embossing Folder, Small Pearl

Thank You with Snowflake Thinlets

I'm all finished making Christmas cards, so thought I would try my hand at making a non Christmas Thank you card using the Snowfall thinlet dies.

The Brokeh Dot background stamp was stamped with Balmy Blue using the Stamparatus. Across the lower part I placed a Whisper White sentiment panel with the sentiment embossed in silver embossing powder on it.

At the left side I die cut some floral images from the Snowflake thinlets as well as some branches in Whisper White and a couple in Silver Foil.  Lately I have rediscovered the pleasure of using the Sizzix adhesive sheets to die cut and adhere fine die cuts and I used these sheets to die cut and adhere them without a fuss and without a mess.

Some silver threat, wound up around my fingers, was added behind the floral die cut , and a rhinestone was added in the center of the flower.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Bokeh Dots, All Things Thanks, Love What You Do
Inks:  Versa Mark, Balmy Blue
Papers:  Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Accessories:  Silver embossing powder, Silver thread, Stamparatus, Snowfall Thinlet dies, Sizzix adhesive sheets, rhinestone

Tanquil Tulips Thank You

Today was my catalogue Open House, and as a thank you I made one of these cards for each of my down line to thank them for all their help.

Each tulip was first stamped with Berry Burst, after first stamping off.  The second image was stamped full strength.  I stamped a second image on a separate piece of Whisper White, cut it out, and placed it over the tulips to give them a 3D effect. Wink of Stella was applied to each tulip.

The stamens of each tulip were stamped with Black Memento ink, and the stems and leaves with Lucky Limeade  ink.  For added interest I added a bumble bee from Garden in Bloom.

Around the bottom was adhered a 1/2" Berry Burst finely woven ribbon.

The sentiment is from "All Thinks Thanks" and is added to the top of the ribbon with dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Tranquil Tulips, Garden in Bloom, All things Thanks
Inks:  Berry Burst, Black Memento, Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black marker
Papers:  Berry Burst, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Accessories:  1/2" Berry Burst finely  woven ribbon, dimensionals, Wink of Stella
