Artistically Asian Birthday - Paper Players #301

For the sketch challenge with The Paper Players I decided to try a new technique- doing sponging using a template die cut using the Circles Framelits.

  •  The focal image was stamped onto a background created with sponges and a circle template.
  • Three basic colours were used:  Sahara Sand and the bottom, Pear Pizzazz in the middle, and Soft Sky at the top.  Markers are used to ink up the stamp - Wild Wasabi and Soft Suede.

  • The circle edges are sponged with Soft Suede
  • It is attached to the card front using dimensionals.
  • The card front is a Whisper White layer embossed with the Sparkles embossing folder, with a strip of Pear Pizzazz DSP adhered to in.
  • The sentiment is from "And Many More".  It is punched using the Ticket Builder Punch (Retired).
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Artistically Asian, And Many More
Inks: Sahara Sand, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Markers (Wild Wisabi, Soft Suede)
Papers: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz DSP
Accessories:  Sparkles embossing folder, Circle Framelits, Ticket builder punch, dimensionals, rhinestones.

Botanical English Garden - Try Stampin on Tuesday #263

It may be Easter Weekend, but the weather makes it feel more like Christmas.  A wicked ice storm passed through the region, leaving many without power because of downed hydro wires.

For the challenge at Try Stampin on Tuesday I combined a DSP, the coordinating stamp set, and the Botanical dies. I chose not to use an Easter theme.

  • The base cardstock is Hello Honey cardstock, layered with Whisper White.
  • On the Whisper White layer, three 1 1/4" squares of English Garden DSP matted with 1 3/8" of Hello Honey cardstock were adhered near the bottom.  Prior to adhering, the corners of all were rounded using the corner rounder punch and the edges were sponged with Tip Top Taupe ink.  The two layers were adhered using dimensionals.
  • One of the Botanical flowers was die cut using Hello Honey cardstock; the middle in Tip Top Taupe.  The edges were sponged with Tip Top Taupe prior to adhering using dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is from "And Many More", cut into a banner and adhered just under the flower above the squares.
  • On the space above the squares, images of bees and butterflies were randomly stamped using Tip Top Taupe and Hello Honey.  These images were from "Garden in Bloom"
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Garden in Bloom, And Many More
Inks: Tip Top Taupe, Hello Honey
Papers: Hello Honey, Whisper White, English Garden DSP, Tip Top Taupe
Accessories: 1 1/4" square punch, 1 3/8" square punch, corner rounder punch, Botanical Builder dies, dimensionals

Congratulations on a Beautiful Ride - Inkspirational Colour Challenge #104 and Fab Friday #83

This card combines 2 challenges - a sketch challenge with Fab Friday and the colour challenge with  Inspirational Challenges.
The colour challenge:  Use the colours pink and grey.

To make my card, I placed the sketch on its side.

The stamp set "Beautiful Ride" was used for this challenge.  The car was coloured pink using Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride on the body of the car and the balloons, and Smoky Slate and Basic Gray for the wheels and luggage. An Aquapainter and a blender pen were both used.

To make the image piece a bit smaller, I used my trimmer to cut up to the balloons on both sides, and then with paper clips cut around the balloons.  They actually do seem to be blowing in the breeze.

To add a bit of bling to the card, the Wink of Stella clear glitter brush was used with the star template.

Supplies
Stamps: Beautiful Ride, And Many More
Inks: Black Memento, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray
Papers: Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette DSP, Smoky Slate DSP
Accessories: Wink of Stella clear glitter brush, dimensionals, duo ticket punch, star decorative mask

Best Mother Ever - SUO Challenge #142

Sale-a-bration (SAB) is moving along at a very rapid pace.  The challenge this week is to create something using SAB products.  Since Mother's Day will be upon us before we know it, I thought I would use one of the stamps to make a Mother's Day card.

The products I used:  "What I Love", Botanical Garden Vellum, and Metallic Tape

The flowers were made using the following 3 colours:  Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, and Rose Red.  They were then cut out, the edges sponged with Rose Red ink, and mounted using a dimensional to a 2 1/2" Whisper white circle.  The bird builder punch was used to punch out leaves/branches.  They were sponged with Old Artichoke ink before adhering them to the bottom of the flowers.

The base card is top folded Rose Red cardstock, layered with Whisper White cardstock embossed with the butterfly embossing folder,.  After attaching this embossed layer to the card front, it was lightly brushed with Rose Red ink.  A layer of Botanical Garden Vellum was adhered to the bottom half.  A piece of Metallic Tape was placed at the top end of the vellum layer.

A piece of Rose Red card stock was die cut using the Apothecary die framelet.  The circle was adhered partly over this die cut piece.

Some small flowers were die cut using the metallic tape and added to the middle of each flower, followed by a rhinestone.

Three more small flowers were die cut from the vellum and adhered to the lower right corner of the card.  Rhinestones were added.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: What I Love, And Many More
Inks: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Always Artichoke
Papers: Rose Red, Whisper White, Botanical Garden vellum, Old Olive
Accessories: 2 1/2" circle punch, Word Window punch, Modern Word Label punch, Bird Builder Punch, small flowers (from accessory pack), rhinestones, metallic tape, Butterfly embossing folder, Apothecary die/framelit.
