A Flower for Freshly Made Sketches #318

Have you ever done this?

Clean a drawer, only to  find a stamped image that you have no idea what stamp set it came from?  That's exactly what happened. So, if any of my readers recognize the stamp set from which this image came from please let me know.  Thanks.
I also happened to see the sketch challenge with Freshly Made Sketches, and this image was perfect for this challenge.
Here's what the finished card looked like:

The flowers were coloured with the Stampin' Blendabilies with dots of Soft Sky in the areas surrounding the blooms. I placed some 3D liquid lacquer over the petals and sprinkled some dazzling diamonds on top of that.

The Whisper White art piece was matted with Pear Pizzazz card stock, and mounted onto a Whisper White card front embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder with dimensionals.  It was mounted over a strip of Pear Pizzazz shimmer ribbon. The Whisper White piece was adhered to a Pear Pizzazz card front.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Timeless Texture ??? unknown
Inks:  Black Memento, Stampin' Blendabilities, Soft Sky
Papers;  Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White,
Accessories:  3/8" Pear Pizzazz shimmer ribbon, dimensionals, 3D lacquer (non SU), Dazzling Diamonds, Petal Burst embossing folder., Word Window Punch

Botanical English Garden - Try Stampin on Tuesday #263

It may be Easter Weekend, but the weather makes it feel more like Christmas.  A wicked ice storm passed through the region, leaving many without power because of downed hydro wires.

For the challenge at Try Stampin on Tuesday I combined a DSP, the coordinating stamp set, and the Botanical dies. I chose not to use an Easter theme.

  • The base cardstock is Hello Honey cardstock, layered with Whisper White.
  • On the Whisper White layer, three 1 1/4" squares of English Garden DSP matted with 1 3/8" of Hello Honey cardstock were adhered near the bottom.  Prior to adhering, the corners of all were rounded using the corner rounder punch and the edges were sponged with Tip Top Taupe ink.  The two layers were adhered using dimensionals.
  • One of the Botanical flowers was die cut using Hello Honey cardstock; the middle in Tip Top Taupe.  The edges were sponged with Tip Top Taupe prior to adhering using dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is from "And Many More", cut into a banner and adhered just under the flower above the squares.
  • On the space above the squares, images of bees and butterflies were randomly stamped using Tip Top Taupe and Hello Honey.  These images were from "Garden in Bloom"
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Garden in Bloom, And Many More
Inks: Tip Top Taupe, Hello Honey
Papers: Hello Honey, Whisper White, English Garden DSP, Tip Top Taupe
Accessories: 1 1/4" square punch, 1 3/8" square punch, corner rounder punch, Botanical Builder dies, dimensionals

Just Because - Fab Friday #80

Winter has finally arrived!!! It's cold, cold, cold, and windy, and snowy, and not springlike at all.  So I wanted to make something cheery for the challenge with Fab Friday  which is a colour one.
The colours for the challenge:  Real Red, Blushing Bride, and Watermelon Wonder.
So I used the Botanical Builder framelets/dies to make some flowers on a Basic Black background (which is my neutral)

On a Basic Black background three large 3D flowers in the challenge colours were die cut and placed on the card around a Watermelon Wonder vine.  In the center of each of these flowers were the challenge colours as well as Basic black.  A rhinestone completed the flower

Some smaller 3D flowers were also made using the same method.

Some dazzling details was applied to the stamen tips.  It was also applied to the card front using a blender pen using a dot-dot method.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  And Many More
Inks: Black Memento
Papers: Basic Black, Watermelon Wonder, Real Red, Blushing Bride
Accessories: Botanical blooms builder framelits/dies, Dazzling details, rhinestones, Word Window punch.

Springtime Hello - Unscripted Sketches #242

What a miserable day today!  As if we didn't have enough snow already, today has been snowing heavily.  Not a day to be out and about that's for sure!  I had to cancel the class tonight as its too dangerous for the students to drive.

Because its such a wintery day, I thought I would make a spring-like card for the challenge with Unscripted Sketches here  I took the liberty of turning the sketch on its side.

Sketch_242
The base card of Gumball Green is a square 5 by 5" layered with Whisper White cardstock and then Watercolor Modern DSP.
For the focal image I stamped the flower twice using Black Stazon, and colored the flowers with markers.  The little bee is stamped, colored, and then cut out and attached to one of the flowers with a dimensional.
The focal panel  edges are sponged with Island Indigo ink and then matted with Island Indigo card stock.  The two layers behind this image are Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green.  This entire unit is attached to a white paper doillie with is attached to the DSP.
In the left lower corner I punched a modern word label punch and attached half of it to the DSP.  A pearl adorns this punchie.

Stamps:Springtime Hello, A Dozen Thoughts
Inks: Black Stazon, Basic Black, SU markers (Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Gumball Green)
Papers: Gumball Green, Whisper White, Watercolor Modern DSP, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, White Paper Doillie
Accessories: White Paper Doillie, Pearl, Modern Word Label Punch, dimensional

Just Because - Hexagon Hive Thinlet die & Petite Petals - a Case

We had a mild day today, but the weather tomorrow is supposed to make up for any enjoyment we experienced today.  More snow is forecast.  On top of all the snow we have received to date we've run out of room to put it when we shovel.  It's getting hazardous to emerge from your driveway!

Today's card is a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest.  It's so spring-like  looking I couldn't resist making it.

The base card is Island Indigo layered with Watercolor Wonder DSP followed by a Whisper White layer die cut using the Hexagon Hive Thinlet die.  Hint: Use waxed paper underneath the thinlet die to make removing the hexagons easier.  To attach the hexagon die cut paper, I used tombo glue thinly applied to the edges.

On a scrap piece of paper, I stamped 5 Petite flowers - 2 in Island Indigo, I Daffodil Delight, 1 Pear Pizzazz, and 1 Calypso Coral.  They were punched out using the coordinating Petite Petals punch, and the petals curled up.  After attaching to the card using glue dots, a pearl was placed in the center of each flower.
The sentiment is from "A Dozen Thoughts".  The edges of the sentiment banner were sponged with Island Indigo ink to make it stand out from the white background.

Stamps: Petite Petals, A Dozen Thoughts
Inks: Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral, Basic Black
Papers: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Watercolor Wonder DSP
Accessories: Hexagon Hive Thinlet die, Petite Petals punch, Pearls, glue dots

Secret Garden - Just Because - Freshly Made Sketch Challenge #73

I am so anxious to get out in my garden, but there's a whole lot of winter to get through yet.  Tomorrow its supposed to snow again!!!  The mild weather we have experienced over the last couple of days is just Mother Nature's way of either fooling us or giving us a taste of things to come. Just because the weather has been mild doesn't mean spring is around the corner; Just because the days are getting longer doesn't mean summer is coming any faster; Just because.........
I made this card for the Freshly Made Sketch challenge here and the card looks so summery it made me a bit nostalgic and the sentiment is quite fitting - Just Because!
