An Art Gallery Project (Mini Catalogue sneak peak)

 I am in love!

No, I didn't meet a special someone, but a special something-The Art Gallery Bundle. And the DSP that coordinates with this bundle - WOW!!

As if the DSP wasn't gorgeous enough, add gold to certain areas and you hav a master piece.  If you have never worked with Gilded Flakes, I have plenty of tips and tricks. As I work through this project I will give you tips and tricks on how to apply gold to your project.

I must admit I was reluctant to cut into this paper, but the lure of the project won out.

Here's my project- a decorated mini pizza box containing 4 (3 by 3") note cards and envelopes.

Dimensions of the Lid:

Top:
.Merry Merlot    3 1/4 by 3 1/4"
.Fine Arts DSP    3 by 3"  Adhere the two layers together and add to lid of now assembled Mini Pizza box.
.
.Die Cut a 2 1/4" circle using the Stitched Circle Die.  Die cut a smaller circle in Whisper White (2").  Adhere the 2 together and add to the center of the lid.

Using a dauber, apply Blushing Bride ink to the flowers of the single floral cluster.  Then with a second dauber, apply Merry Merlot around the edges of the small buds and the centers of the larger flowers.  Apply Old Olive to the leaves and stems. Spritz lightly with water and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.  When dry, die cut and adhere to the circles using dimensionals.  To make the flowers look more like the flowers in the DSP, I applied some Blackberry Bliss to the flower centers using a Stampin' Write  marker

A bow made with gold twine was added to the base of the flowers and some Gilded Gems added randomly on the DSP.

Sides:

.Merry Merlot 3 1/4 by 3/4"
.DSP 3 by 1/2"
Cut 4 of each piece, adhere together and add to each of the four sides of the box.

Note Cards:
Make 4 Thank you notes to fit in the box.  For each card I cut a 3 by 6" piece of Whisper White card stock and scored it at 3" to make a 3 by 3" card. These would fit into the 3 1/4" by 3 1/4" envelopes.
Each card was decorated using the Fine Arts DSP.  The sentiment was gold embossed and die cut before adding to the card front. Each note card had 3 Gilded Gems added to the upper right side.
Gilded flakes were added to the Tear and Tape adhesive which had been added along the edge of the DSP.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Art Gallery
Inks:  Versa Mark, Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss
Papers;  Whisper White, Merry Merlot, Fine Art Floral DSP, Gold Foil
Accessories:  Mini Pizza Box, Floral Gallery Dies, Gilded Leafing Embellishments, Gilded Gems, 3 1/4 by 3 1/4 Whisper White envelopes, Stitched Circle Dies, Gold twine

Thank You with Snowflake Thinlets

I'm all finished making Christmas cards, so thought I would try my hand at making a non Christmas Thank you card using the Snowfall thinlet dies.

The Brokeh Dot background stamp was stamped with Balmy Blue using the Stamparatus. Across the lower part I placed a Whisper White sentiment panel with the sentiment embossed in silver embossing powder on it.

At the left side I die cut some floral images from the Snowflake thinlets as well as some branches in Whisper White and a couple in Silver Foil.  Lately I have rediscovered the pleasure of using the Sizzix adhesive sheets to die cut and adhere fine die cuts and I used these sheets to die cut and adhere them without a fuss and without a mess.

Some silver threat, wound up around my fingers, was added behind the floral die cut , and a rhinestone was added in the center of the flower.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Bokeh Dots, All Things Thanks, Love What You Do
Inks:  Versa Mark, Balmy Blue
Papers:  Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Accessories:  Silver embossing powder, Silver thread, Stamparatus, Snowfall Thinlet dies, Sizzix adhesive sheets, rhinestone

A Pressed Flower Thank You Using Swirly Frames

I love the Swirly Frames stamp set as the frames provide an outline for many images, such as the Pressed Flowers below.

The images were inked with Gorgeous Grape and Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow markers and stamped onto Whisper White which had been stamped with the rectangle swirly frame.  The frame itself was colored with a marker, then cut out and matted with Elegant Eggplant card stock.

Around the image I stamped dot stamps from the Timeless Texture stamp set using Highland Heather ink, and stamping off first.

On both sides of the stem, I punched a 1/8" hole using the hand held punch, inserted a 1/4" organza ribbon through it and tied it into a bow.

The sentiment was stamped inside a smaller square frame which was also cut out and the edges sponged. A small flower was stamped in the lower right corner.  This was adhered to the art piece and the card front using dimensionals only on one side.

The base card is Elegant Eggplant layered with Whisper White embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder with the edges sponged with Elegant eggplant ink.

A white paper doillie was added to the card front before adding the art piece with dimensionals.

Dazzling diamonds were added to the flower centers, and metallic  enamel shapes to the upper right and on the sentiment square as well.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Swirly Frames, Pressed Flowers, Hand Delivered, Timeless Texture
Inks:  Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow markers, Highland Heather, Elegant Eggplant
Papers:  Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White,
Accessories:  Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes, Layered Leaves Embossing Folder, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals. 1/4" white organza ribbon, 1/8" hand held punch.

(You) Lift Me Up - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #299

It's officially winter in Peterborough as well, with 5 cm of snow falling in the last couple of days.  More snow is on the way.  Coming on the heels of a warmer than usual November we really can't complain.  Besides, Christmas is just around the corner - 18 days to be exact.  Tomorrow I am doing my last craft event until the New Year.  I call it a craft event because I am the only  person setting up a craft table at a local hospital.

The card I made today features a new stamp set in the Occasions catalogue coming out next month.     This hot air balloon stamp set also has some thinlet dies that coordinate with it.  It goes perfectly with the sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday or Not #299

The card base is Tempting Turqoise card stock layered with Whisper White and then Festive Birthday DSP.
The Art Piece is a Whisper White piece 4 by 2 1/2".  Clouds of 2 sizes were randomly stamped using Bermuda Bay ink.  The smallest balloon of the thinlet dies was used to die cut 3  balloon s using the striped pattern of the same DSP.  The edges were sponged with Rich Razzellbery ink and  two of the three were adhered with dimensionals.   Small bows made with Linen thread were adhered with glue dots to the base of each balloon.

The sentiment, stamped with Black Memento on a separate piece of Whisper White and punched with the  Classic Label punch.

The art piece was matted with Tempting Turquoise and adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Lift Me Up
Ink:   Black Memento, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzelberry
Papers: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Festive Birthday DSP
Accessories:  Up & Away Thinlet Dies, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Best of Sale-a-Bration Thanks

This is the last stamp set of the "Best of" series - and I have enjoyed them all.
Making a card is still a challenge for me because my work area is under construction.  You will recall that I had a leak in my basement foundation which was repaired in the summer.  Now the inside wall of the basement is being repaired.  At the same time repairs are being done on the bathroom, and since I only have one bathroom this has been a bit of an inconvenience.  And the mess!!  Any of you who have undergone construction know what I am talking about.

Despite all of the above, I managed to do a card for the Fab Fri sketch challenge here

Stamps:  Best of Sale-a-Bration, Lots of Thanks
Inks: Soft Suede, SU Markers ( Coastal Cabana, Green Gumball)
Papers: Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Venetial Romance Designer Paper, Soft Suede
Accessories: Apothecary framelits, Circle framelits, 1 3/4" scallop circle punch, 1 1/2" circle punch, Small oval punch, Large pearls, Crumb Cake seam binding, dimensionals.

Perfect Punches Thanks - Challenge 219 Paired with a Punch

The challenge with the LNS group is to pair an image or a stamp with a matching punch. In the card I made, I paired an image with a punch, and a sentiment with a punch.

The base of this A2 card is Rose Red card stock, layered with Whisper White, then Rose Red DSP.

The floral image was stamped with Black Stazon onto Whisper White card stock, and then coloured with SU markers.  It was then punched out with the 2 1/2" circle punch, which was matted with a Rose Red circle die cut using the Circles #2 die.  This was layered with an Old Olive scallop circle die cut using the Scallop circles #2 die.

The sentiment was coloured with Old Olive and Rose Red markerd, stamped onto Whisper White card stock, and then punched with the scallop oval punch.

Some dazzling details were added to the flower.  A white taffeta ribbon and bow was attached between the floral image and the sentiment.

So, for this challenge, the floral image was paired with the 2 1/2" circle punch, and the sentiment with the Scallop oval punch.

Here's a list of the supplies/materials used:

Stamps: Best of Flowers, Perfect Punches
Inks: Black Stazon, SU Markers (Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Old Olive)
Papers: Rose Red, Whisper White, Rose Red DSP, Old Olive
Accessories: 2 1/2" circle punch, Circles die #2, Scallop circle die #2, Scallop oval punch, 3/8" white taffeta ribbon, dazzling details, dimensionals.
