Merry & Bright- a Christmas Bauble card plus more

I initially did not get the " Bright Bauble" bundle, thinking I was not going to make any 3d Christmas ornaments this year.  The pandemic has really put a wrench in my plans for local Craft shows to sell any items I make, and classes have been cancelled for another  year as well.

However, after careful consideration, I decided to make family and friends a 3D Christmas ornament this year. This bundle would be perfect for this.

But before I make ornaments I decided to make some cards using the Bauble as a focal point.  Idea!!  Why not make a card to match the ornament?

So here is my card:

I must admit I did not know where to start making this card, and whenever that is the case I select the DSP ( Whimsey & Wonder DSP) first selecting my  colour palette  from there( Mint Macaron, Misty Moonlight, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Petal Pink)

Because its a larger stamp, I used the stamparatus to stamp the image, and coloured it with Stampin' Blends and die cut it with the Delicate Bauble.  Before adding it to the card, I added Crystal Effects over the entire surface.  When it was dry, it was added to the card front using dimensionals.  Some 3/8" metallic Petal Pink ribbon was inserted through the top of the ornament (bauble) and adhered to the top of the card between the DSP and Basic White layers.  A bow made with the same ribbon is added to the top of the bauble.

The Mint Macaron card base is  5 1/2" square.  It is matted first with Basic White, followed by Whimsey & Wonder DSP.  I cut a panel of the reverse side of the DSP (Misty Moonlight) and adhered it to the middle of the DSP.  Before adhering it, I added some  silver foil die cut with the Basic Border die along each of the long sides.

Supplies Used:

Stamp:  Bright Baubles

Ornamental Pine meets Christmas Bauble

Day 4 of the 12 days of Christmas, and both cards are from the Ornamental Pine stamp set, but sometimes I put different stamp sets together.

With my first card, I did just that.  I combined Ornamental Pine and Christmas Bauble.  I just love both these sets.

Here is the resultant card.

The Christmas Bauble was stamped and coloured with blendabilities.  The center of the ornament was stamped a second time, coloured and die cut using the circles framelits.  A slightly larger circle of Champagne glimmer paper became the mat for the die cut circle. The circle was attached to the glimmer paper using dimensionals.  Then in the center I placed a retired button with a rhinestone on top. This circle was attached to the ornament using dimensionals.

The ornament was then cut out and a piece of gold stretch cord (non SU) was inserted through a tiny hole at the top of the ornament.

The ornamental pine was stamped across the top of a piece of Whisper White card stock - in Old Olive and Early Espresso.

The ornament was attached to the card using dimensionals, and the cord attached to the branch with a glue dot.  A bow made of 1/8" gold taffeta ribbon was attached at the top of the cord hiding the cord attachment.

Stamps: Ornamental Pine, Christmas Bauble
Inks: Memento, blendabilities, silver marker, Old Olive, Early Espresso
Papers: Old Olive, Whisper White, Champagne glimmer paper
Accessories: Circles framelits, button, rhinestones, gold elastic cord (non SU), 1/8" gold taffeta ribbon, dimensionals

Christmas Bauble

I love the way this Christmas ornament turned out.  When I saw the picture of it in the catalogue I wasn't sure whether or not to buy it.  But in the end I did, and I am happy.

Here is the card:

I stamped the image twice, but coloured only the center circle of the second one. The first one was coloured entirely with blendabilities.  I punched out the middle circle of the second bauble using the 1" circle punch, and attached it to the first coloured bauble using a dimensional.

Stamps: Christmas Bauble, More Merry Messages
Inks: Black Memento, Lost Lagoon, Blendabilities
Papers: Marina Mist, Whisper white, Nordic Noel DSP, Silver Glimmer paper
Accessories:  Oval framelits, Lucky Stars Embossing folder, Stylish Stripes Embossing folder, Lost Lagoon ribbon, Dazzling diamonds, Silver glass glitter, large pearl, dimensionals, 1" circle punch.
