50th Wedding Anniversary Card using Meant to BE

One of my classmates is celebrating her 50th Wedding Anniversary, and I was asked to make a card for this occasion by another classmate.
I think 50th anniversay cards should be elaborate, special and of course made in tones of gold and vanilla.
This is the card I came up with.

Both she and her husband are very musical, so I incorporated some music in the design of the card, placing music sheets behind the die cut hearts.  The music sheets were made using the Sheet Music  background stamp on Very Vanilla paper .

The base card is Thick Very Vanilla (5 by 7"), layered first with Gold Foil, then with Very Vanilla, the edges of which were die cut using the Be Mine Stitched edge die.  I used the largest Stitched Rectangle to die cut the middle of the gold foil layer.  This was used on another project.   This piece was then embossed with the Lace Embossing folder.

The gold foil central oval was die cut with the Heritage Oval die and embossed with the complimentary Heritage embossing folder.  This was adhered to the card front using dimensionals.

Two overlapping gold foil die cut scallop hearts with music sheets behind them were added to this oval near the top, with the numbers "50" inserted in the middle.  Flowers were added along the bottom.  Tiny butterflies are added in several locations.

Gold glitter was added to the center of the flowers.

A very vanilla trim, striped with gold, was added just below the oval edge, and a ribbon was added on top of it on the right side

Here's the inside finished with gold embossing , gold foil die cuts as well as music notes.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Sheet Music Background stamp, Meant to be
Inks:  Versa mark, Gray Granite
Papers:  Thick Very Vanilla, Very Vanilla, Gold Foil
Accessories:  Heirloom dies and embossing folders, Music Note dies, Lace embossing folder,  14" Natural trim with gold stripe, rhinestones, pearls, dimensionals, Window sheet, Shaker Elements, Junior Alplhabet dies (retired)

Snowman Christmas and the Heirloom Frame - another sneak peak

The Heirloom Frames and the cute snowmen of the Snowman Christmas stamp set are a good match, each allowing the other to shine.

This little snowman juggling snowballs and snowflakes was placed inside an embossed Whisper White Heritage Frame.  I coloured the Snowman with Stampin' Blends and the background with a Coastal Cabana watercolour pencil.  Puff paint was used to mimic real snow both up in the air and on the ground

Tip: Shake the puff paint before applying to your work

The frame was added at an angle to the Coastal Cabana card front to which a strip of Let it Snow DSP flanked on both sides with a narrow strip of Dazzling Diamond glimmer paper has been added.

The frame was decorated with a large and a small die cut snowflake (Colorful Seasons), with a bow of Coastal Cabana baker twine added to the middle of the larger one and a rhinestone in the smaller one.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Snowman Christmas
Inks:  Black Memento, Stampin' Blends, Watercolour Pencils
Papers:  Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Let it Snow DSP, Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper
Accessories:  Heirloom Frame and Embossing Folder, Colorful Season Dies, Puff Paint, Blender Pen, Thick Coastal Cabana baker's twine (retired), rhinestone, dimensionals

A Daisy Birthday - The Paper Players #448

Happy Canada Day everyone.  Canada is 152 years young and all over the country people were celebrating.  And what a perfect summer day it was!

I spent the day on my patio surrounded by the plants in my garden, plants that are desperately trying to bloom after a cool rainy Spring.  My daisies are not yet blooming and I look forward to their appearance.

For the Tic Tac Toe challenge at The Paper Players # 448 I decided to use Daisies as my floral element for the vertical column of the challenge.  The other two elements in the column are the use of punched shapes, and ribbon.

My friend is having a birthday soon, so this will be my card for her.

The thick Whisper White card base is layered first wotj some Daffodil Delight card stock and then a Whisper white layer embossed with the new Eyelet Lace embossing folder.  That folder had been  brayered  with Daffodil Delight ink making for a delicate lacy layer, a perfect foil for the Daisy flowers.

Three Daisy flowers were made using the new Medium Daisy punch.  Each flower was made by punching two flowers, shaping the petals with a bone folder and then adhering them together alternating the petals.  Leaves were stamped using the Daisy Lane stamp set, fussy cutting them, and adhering a Leaf to each Daisy.  Before adhering them together, Daffodil Delight was applied in the centers of the punched Daisies using a finger dauber. A Daffodil Delight glitter gem was added to the center of each flower.

The Daisies were adhered to an embossed  3D Oval Heirloom Frame, the top of which was sponged with Daffodil Delight ink.  The birthday sentiment, from Beautiful Day, was added in the center of this frame.

To finish the card, a bow was made using the 5/8" Polka dot organza ribbon and adhering it to the top of the oval die.

Here's some more pictures of the completed card.
