Flower Pot Card

I had some fun today making flowers using various stamp sets, and punches, some of which are retiring and some are not.
I had quite a number when I was done, so make a flower pot easel card, the template for which I got at my local craft store.

The card base is Cajun Craze cardstock, layered with Moroccan Series DSP.  I used a template from a local craft store to make this flower pot shaped easel card.

I stamped floral images from various stamp sets (Flower Shop, Grateful Bunch), punched some of the others using the Petite Petal Punch, Bunch Punch, the Scallop circle framelit, and Botanical Framelits. Some flowers were made into tiny roses, or a Chrysanthemum.  Most of the floral centers have pearls in them, but some have small brads.

The sentiment is from "Blossom Birthdays"

Here is the side view.

And a close up of the flowers:

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Grateful Bunch, Flower Shop, Birthday Blossoms
Inks: Daffodil Delight, Delightful Dijon, Old Olive, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Black Memento
Papers: Cajun Craze, Moroccan DSP, Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Accessories: Petite Petal Punch, Bunch Punch, Botanical Framelits, Layering Circles framelits, Pearls, small brads

Fan Fare Fold Card

I have seen numerous examples of this wonderful card fold on Pinterest and thought I would try my hand on making a card featuring this fold. It reminds me of the Concertina fold, but a modified form.

The fan fare portion of the cards sits on a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2" Thick Whisper White base.

The fan fare portion is a 4 1/4 by 11" of Peek-a-boo Peach card stock scored at 1 1/2, 3, 5 1/8, and 8" and fan folded. Be sure to burnish the folds well so the card lays flat.

The scored areas are decorated with DSP with one Whisper White panel. I used the Fruit Stand DSP
Dimensions for the DSP panels:
4 by 2 3/4" far right panel
4 by 2 3/4" Third panel
4 by 1 1/4" (two pieces) for remaining two
Whisper White piece: 4 by 2 1/4" for the second panel.
A sentiment stamped and then die cut using layering ovals and adhered only to the top fold.
The card is decorated with flowers made with the Blossom punch combined with Botanical Builder framelits.

When the folded areas are opened you can see all the various scored sections.

Using the Blossom punch, three sets of flowers were punched - 2 in Peek-a-boo Peach and one set in Watermelon Wonder.  Leaves are from the Botanical Builder framelits.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Layering Love
Inks: Black Memento. Peek-a-boo Peach, Watermelon Wonder, Wild Wasabi
Papers:Whisper White (thick), Peek-a-boo Peach, Watermelon Wonder, Wild Wasabi, Fruit Stand DSP
Accessories: Layering Oval framelits, Blossom Punch, Botanical Builder framelits, Pearls

Starting this week, on Friday, I will be featuring flowers on Friday - one flower with a tutorial each week. Each flower will be made using current Stampin' Up Punches/thinlets.  This Friday will feature the above embellishment

Dear Friend - Try Stampin' on Tuesday # 249

Another week, another challenge, and another sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday
The theme was "The Holidays" but I chose not to use that theme, but instead make a card giving you a sneak peak at the New Occasions catalogue coming out in January.

  • The base of this top fold card is Watermelon Wonder, layered with Whisper White embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder
  • A strip of Birthday Bouquet DSP was adhered near the bottom
Flower
  • The image was stamped with Black Memento on Whisper White anWonder, Marina Mist (for shading), Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede.  The leaves were first coloured with Pear Pizzazz and then shaded with Old Olive.
  • Some glitter using the Wink of Stella Brush (clear) was added to various parts of the flower and embellishments.
  • With a blender pen, tiny dots of the various colours in the flower and leaves were added around the flower.
  • The image was die cut using the Circle Framelits, and attached to the card front using dimensionals.

  • Embellishments:  The flowers were punched using the Blossom Bunch Punch - in Watermelon Wonder and then in Daffodil Delight.  They were layered together using a glue dot, and a metal rimmed pearl was placed in the center of each.  The leaf from the Flower Frenzy die (retired) was cut in Pear Pizzaz, trimmed, sponged with Old Olive and added to the back of each flower cluster with a glue dot.  They were added to the focal image with a glue dot.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set, punched with the small oval punch and added to the top with both a dimensional and tombo.

Note:  All edges were sponged with Watercolor Wonder, except for the leaves were were sponged with Old Olive.
