Season of Thanks - a sneak peak Autumn card

Yes, it still is summer, but the days are getting shorter and the nights cooler.  There is definitely a feel of autumn in the air.  So today I pulled out on"e of the new stamp sets in the holiday catalogue and made a few cards.  It did feel rather strange to be working with fall colours and thinking about Thanksgiving, but sometimes one has to work ahead.

This Z fold card is made using the "Gather Together" stamp set and coordinating "Come Together DSP".  It is similar to a card I saw on Pinterest.

The card base is a 5 1/2 by 11" piece of  Pretty Peacock card stock, scored at 5 1/2  and 8" and folded to form a Z fold card.

The 2 front panels are layered first with Whisper White card stock and then Come Together DSP.

On a separate piece of  Whisper White card stock, 4 large and  1 smaller pair of pumpkins were stamped using Pretty Peacock ink.  After die cutting them using the Gathering Leaves Dies, only half of each pumpkins was added along the front fold line. Another larger and the small pumpkin pair were stamped on the inside of the card.

The sentiment, stamped in Pretty Peacock ink, was die cut with a layering oval die, and matted with a slightly larger scallop oval die.  After adhering the two together it was adhered to the card front using dimensionals.  Two of the harvest grasses were stamped, fussy cut and adhered to the front below the sentiment and a bow made with the braided linen thread was adhered to the stem top.

A sentiment is stamped on the inside and to finish the card, three Pretty peacock rhinestones were added.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Gathering Together
Inks:  Pretty Peacock
Papers:  Pretty Peacock, Whisper White, Come Together DSP
Accessories:  Layering Oval Framelits, Gathering Leaves Dies, Braided Linen Thread, Pretty Peacock rhinestones, Dimensionals.

Fan Fare Fold Card

I have seen numerous examples of this wonderful card fold on Pinterest and thought I would try my hand on making a card featuring this fold. It reminds me of the Concertina fold, but a modified form.

The fan fare portion of the cards sits on a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2" Thick Whisper White base.

The fan fare portion is a 4 1/4 by 11" of Peek-a-boo Peach card stock scored at 1 1/2, 3, 5 1/8, and 8" and fan folded. Be sure to burnish the folds well so the card lays flat.

The scored areas are decorated with DSP with one Whisper White panel. I used the Fruit Stand DSP
Dimensions for the DSP panels:
4 by 2 3/4" far right panel
4 by 2 3/4" Third panel
4 by 1 1/4" (two pieces) for remaining two
Whisper White piece: 4 by 2 1/4" for the second panel.
A sentiment stamped and then die cut using layering ovals and adhered only to the top fold.
The card is decorated with flowers made with the Blossom punch combined with Botanical Builder framelits.

When the folded areas are opened you can see all the various scored sections.

Using the Blossom punch, three sets of flowers were punched - 2 in Peek-a-boo Peach and one set in Watermelon Wonder.  Leaves are from the Botanical Builder framelits.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Layering Love
Inks: Black Memento. Peek-a-boo Peach, Watermelon Wonder, Wild Wasabi
Papers:Whisper White (thick), Peek-a-boo Peach, Watermelon Wonder, Wild Wasabi, Fruit Stand DSP
Accessories: Layering Oval framelits, Blossom Punch, Botanical Builder framelits, Pearls

Starting this week, on Friday, I will be featuring flowers on Friday - one flower with a tutorial each week. Each flower will be made using current Stampin' Up Punches/thinlets.  This Friday will feature the above embellishment

Hydrangea Thank You

The Hydrangea flowers in my garden inspired me to make this card using the "Beautiful Branches Thinlet Dies" with its coordinating stamp set "Thoughtful Branches".  This stamp set and die will be available for ordering on Aug. 2.  It is such a versatile set that I will be making a lot of cards with this.
I decided to make the Hydrangea white in colour, although I have seen them in a wonderful blue, and a gorgeous pink.  My main bush in the backyard has pink blooms - it's offspring, which I planted in the front flower bed has humongous white blooms.  I'll post a picture of the white blooms at the end of this post.

The base card is Delightful Dijon, layered with Whisper White cardstock, and then one of the scenic papers from the Serene Scenic DSP stack.

They Hydrangea was die cut in Whisper White.  Stampin' Up's brush and foam set was really useful in getting all those little pieces out of the die cut image.

The stem and leaves were die cut in Always Artichoke.  I had to adhere the flower at an angle because the image is so large.  The fine tip glue pen was extremely useful in adhering these finely cut pieces to the background. Some clear Wink of Stella glitter was applied to parts of the flower and stem.
To add some interest in the card, a piece of 5/8" burlap ribbon was adhered near the bottom - the stem was glued over the top of the ribbon.

The sentiment was stamped in Always Artichoke ink, die cut with the layering Ovals framelits and matted with an Always Artichoke Decorative Label punchie.  This was adhered to the card front using dimensionals.

Three butterflies were punched using the Bitty Butterfly punch using the reverse side of the DSP, and attached to the card with glue dots.  Rhinestones were applied to the bodies of these butterflies, as well as underneath the sentiment.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Thoughtful Branches, Many Thankful Thoughts
Inks: Always Artichoke
Papers: Delightful Dijon, Whisper White, Serene Scenic DSP stack, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Beautiful Branches Thinlet Dies, Layering Ovals Thinlet, Dimensionals, 5/8" Burlap ribbon, Fine tipped glue, Bitty Butterfly punch, Decorative Label punch, rhinestones
