Hydrangea Window Card - a CASE

I saw this card on Pinterest - made by Nancy Amato - and just loved it.  So, I partially CASED this card using a lot of her elements, but putting some of my own in.

I started by stamping the image of the Hydrangea from the Best of Flowers stamp set, using Black Stazon, onto Whisper White card stock.  The image was coloured with SU markers and then die cut using the Windows framelits.  Before removing the framelit, I took a stencil brush and stenciled all the way around the die cut with Crumb Cake ink.  A second, larger Windows Framelit was die cut, and the edges stenciled in the same way.  The two die cuts were adhered together using dimensionals.  Dazzling details was added to the flowers.

Using the Beautiful Wings sizzlet die, two butterflies were die cut in Marina Mist, and attached on either side of the flower with a glue dot.  Some rhinestones were placed on the bodies of the butterflies.

A striped piece of Birds of a Feather DSP was made into a banner and attached to the bottom of the window.

Using Crumb Cake seam binding, I made a bow and attached an Antique brad to the center.  This was attached at the junction of the banner and the window.

The image unit was attached to a crumb cake layer that had been embossed with the Honeycomb folder.  All edges were sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  I also sponged over the entire embossed surface.
This embossed layer was attached to a Whisper White layer, which was attached to the Marina Mist card base.

Silver and White Beautiful Wings - Create with Connie & Mary Color Challenge 181

I don't usually make New Year's Day cards, but the color combination with the color challenge with Create with Connie & Mary here- Silver Glimmer and Whisper White -was perfect for this.

 

When I first that the colors were Silver Glimmer and Whisper White, my first thought was Christmas, but I'm finished designing and making Christmas cards, so I was initially stumped.  So, I let the colors sit with me for a while, and then I began to picture butterflies shimmering in the moonlight and my card was born. Connie gave me the idea of making a New Year's Day card. Thanks Connie

Medallion Christmas Ornament - Challenge 151

This ornament combines a medallion with a rosette, a snowflake and a butterfly.  It's large and awesome!

1.  Cut 13 pieces of Designer series paper (I used Letters to Santa) 2" by 2"
2.  Fold each piece in half and unfold.
3.  With a pencil or the handle of a paint brush, roll each piece diagonally.  Unroll gently.
4.  Fold into a cone shape.  Do this for all 13 pieces.
5.  Using a hot glue gun, attach each piece to a circle punched with a 1 1/4" circle punch.

6. Insert a jumbo eyelet in one of the medallions and attach a cherry cobbler and white Baker's twine through it.
7. Using the snowflake die, die cut a snow flake in Whisper White card stock and apply dazzling diamonds.
Attach it to the center of the medallion using stampin dimensionals.
8. Now make the rosette using 1 1/4" by 12" Cherry Cobbler card stock scored every 1/4" on the Simply Scored tool.
9. Attach a 1" circle in Cherry Cobbler punch with the 1" circle punch
10. On top of that attach a Cherry cobbler button.
11. On top of the button attach a butterfly die cut using the Beautiful wings die and silver glimmer paper.
12. Three pearls in the center of the butterfly complete the ornament.

Repeat steps 7 to 12 for the other side of the medallion.

Embossed Paper Butterfly Paper Clip - Inkspiration Color Challenge #194

This is an item for my craft table - an embossed paper butterfly paper clip.  The colours I used were from the Inkspiration Color challenge #194 here   - perfect for a butterfly.

The giant paper clips I purchased at a Stationary Store

Papers: Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Whisper White, and Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Embossing folders: Perfect Polka dot, Square Lattice, Antique Wallpaper; Sticky pages, 1/2" circle punch, rhinestones, giant paper clip, Beautiful wings die and the Big Shot

Method:

1. With the Beautiful wings die and the Big Shot, die cut 2 medium butterflies in Melon Mambo, 3 small butterflies - one each of Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, and Whisper White, and one medium butterfly in the Sticky Paper
2. Emboss each of the wings with a different embossing folder.
3. Sponge the edges and embossed surfaces with Elegant Eggplant ink and a sponge.
4. Remove the protective surface of the sticky page butterfly and adhere one of the butterflies to it, matching shapes.
5. Remove the other protective surface of the sticky page.  Adhere the top of the paper clip, positioning it in the middle of the butterfly.
6. Adhere the second medium butterfly on top of the paper clip and sticky page, matching the shape  of the butterflies. 

1. Turn the paper clip over and adhere the other butterflies by applying a tiny strip of sticky paper in the middle - first the Old Olive, then the Elegant Eggplant, and finally the Whisper white.  
2. With a 1/2" circle punch, punch 2 circles and attach then to the bottom wings of the butterfly
3. Attach rhinestones to the middle and in the middle of each of the Elegant Eggplant circles
