Hydrangea Window Card - a CASE

I saw this card on Pinterest - made by Nancy Amato - and just loved it.  So, I partially CASED this card using a lot of her elements, but putting some of my own in.

I started by stamping the image of the Hydrangea from the Best of Flowers stamp set, using Black Stazon, onto Whisper White card stock.  The image was coloured with SU markers and then die cut using the Windows framelits.  Before removing the framelit, I took a stencil brush and stenciled all the way around the die cut with Crumb Cake ink.  A second, larger Windows Framelit was die cut, and the edges stenciled in the same way.  The two die cuts were adhered together using dimensionals.  Dazzling details was added to the flowers.

Using the Beautiful Wings sizzlet die, two butterflies were die cut in Marina Mist, and attached on either side of the flower with a glue dot.  Some rhinestones were placed on the bodies of the butterflies.

A striped piece of Birds of a Feather DSP was made into a banner and attached to the bottom of the window.

Using Crumb Cake seam binding, I made a bow and attached an Antique brad to the center.  This was attached at the junction of the banner and the window.

The image unit was attached to a crumb cake layer that had been embossed with the Honeycomb folder.  All edges were sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  I also sponged over the entire embossed surface.
This embossed layer was attached to a Whisper White layer, which was attached to the Marina Mist card base.

Here is a list of materials/supplies used:

Stamp: Best of Flowers
Inks: Black Stazon, Crumb Cake, SU markers (Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, Old Olive)
Papers:  Marina Mist, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Birds of a Feather DSP
Accessories:  Windows framelit, Beautiful wings sizzlet die, Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Antique Brad, rhinestones, Dazzling details, Honeycomb folder

Thinking of You Friend - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #109

Although the time has officially changed one hour forward, and we're experiencing more sunshine and daylight, spring doesn't seem to have arrived yet.  The temperature sure has been chilly!!!  However, by the calendar, spring is scheduled to arrive next Wednesday.  Whoppee!!
This card is for the sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday here   I took the opportunity to use a stamp set I haven't used yet and wanted to use it before it retires!

I stamped the image twice using Midnight Muse ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then die cut them both using the Windows framelits. One of the middle sentiments was punched out using a circle punch.  The word "friend" from the sentiment was highlighted with a Midnight Muse marker and stamped on a piece of  So Saffron card stock.  It was cut to size and adhered over the 'friend' on the die cut image. The punched out image was discarded and the remaining part was attached to the other die cut using dimensionals.
The embellishments are Designer Builder Brads.  I used the Owl Builder punch and Parker's DSP to punch out circles that fit in these brads.
The ribbon is Natural trim ribbon.

Stamp: Just Thinking
Inks: Midnight Muse, SU markers (So Saffron, Cajun Craze)
Papers: Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Print Poetry DSP pack, Parker's DSP
Accessories: Windows Framelits, 2 1/2" circle punch, Designer Builder Brad, Owl Builder punch, Natural 7 /16" trim ribbon, dimensionals, blue dots

Have a wonderful day, and thanks for visiting
