Birds and Branches -Thinking of You

This card was cased by one I saw on Pinterest.  It features the Birds and Branches stamp set with its coordinating dies Birds and more.  For the sentiment, I use the "Many Mates" stamp set.

The Early Espresso card base is layered with Whisper White .  On the Whisper White layer, is added a central Early Espresso panel with strips of In Good Taste DSP (wood grain pattern)

The nesting birds etc, are built on a stitched circle die (the largest).  The birds, nest and eggs are stamped and coloured on a separate piece of Whisper White and then die cut - the birds with watercolour pencils (Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana), nest with Soft Suede, and the eggs with Sahara Sand) branches of leaves were die cut with Old Olive card stock.

Early Espresso ink was used to stamp the sentiment; the splatter with Crumb Cake.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Birds and Branches, Many Mates
Inks:  Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Watercolor Pencils (Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana)
Papers:  Early Espresso, Whisper White, In Good Taste DSP, Old Olive
Accessories:  Birds and More dies, Stitched Circle die, Linen Thread, Dimensionals.

So Glad We're Neighbours -Hand Stamped Sentiments #330 Color Challenge

This is an interactive circle card using the stamp set "From My House to Yours" from the Holiday catalogue.  Tina Zinck, a Canadian demonstrator, described how this card is made in a video here
Today I put my own 'spin' on it with the colour challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments#330

"

The neighours' houses are strategically placed at compass points on two different layers connected by a brad.  This allows the two layers to move so that neighbours can visit each other.

  • Start by die cutting two of the second and third smallest of the stitched circles in Whisper White and set aside.
  • On a 4 by 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White some Mossy Meadow was very lightly sponged in a circular motion on the upper 1/3 of the card.
  • Using the larger of the two stitched die cut circles placed centrally on the sponged surface and lightly draw a circle using a pencil.  This circle will be used to guide the placememt of the trees.
  • Then stamp the pine trees at the N, S, E, W compass points in Mossy Meadow over the circle line; two of the the bare branched trees between them in Pretty Peacock ink.

  • Use a piercing tool through both layers of the circles as well as the Whisper White art piece. This is for the hole through which the brad will be inserted,

  • On a separate piece of Whisper White stamp the houses using the various colour combinations of this challenge and fussy cut.

  • Adhere two houses on the wrong side of the large circle - at opposite ends i.e. north/south; Adhere the other two on the wrong side of the smaller circle at opposite ends but this East/West

.
  • Insert brad through circles and art piece.

  • Emboss sentiment on a scrap piece of Pretty Peacock card stock using White Embossing powder.  Die cut with the smallest of the stitched die cut circle.
  • Add this circle to the center of the other two circles using dimensionals.  Note:  make sure the bottom row of houses are facing in the direction desired before adhering this layer.
  • White emboss sentiment on Pretty Peacock card stock for the bottom of the card.  Trim and add over a piece of 3/8" Old Olive/Pretty Peacock reversible ribbon which extends across the bottom,
  • Add Bold Peacock rhinestones to the bottom and top of the art piece.
Supplies Used:
Stamp:  From Our House to Yours
Inks:  Pretty Peacock, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow, Versa Mark
Papers:  Pretty Peacock, Whisper White
Accessories:  Stitched circle dies, Noble Peacock rhinestones, Brad, White embossing powder, dimensionals,

Free As a Bird Boxed Note Card Set - a Case & Catalogue Sneak Peak

Have I mentioned that I like the Bird Bundle in the new annual catalogue?  Maybe once or twice??

I saw this boxed note card set on Pinterest and loved it so much I cased it. Unfortunately I cannot find the original author to give her credit, so if anyone recognizes her work please let me know.

The notecards are 4 by 8" Whisper White scored at 4 to form 4 by 4" note cards.  If you use a 12 by 12" sheet of Whisper White you can cut all four from 1 piece - with a little bit left over.  Each card front is matted with Petal Pink card stock followed  by Free as a Bird DSP (bird cages)
A 2" circle punch used to punch birds directly from the DSP, is matted with a stitched Petal Pink larger circle.  This is adhered to the DSP using dimensionals.

Each note card has a different sentiment on the front.

Envelopes for the note cards were made using the Envelope punch board.  This wonderful tool is retiring.

The envelope punch board was also used to make the box, which was finished in a similar manner to the cards. In addition two clusters of flowers were cut from the DSP and added to the lid, and a bow made of 5/8" organdy Petal Pink/white ribbon was added over the image.  I also added a Free as a Bird trinket.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Free as a Bird
Ink:  Soft Suede
Papers:  Whisper White, Petal Pink, Free as a Bird DSP
Accessories:  Envelope punch board, 2" circle punch, Stitched Circle Framelit, Free as a Bird trinket, 5/8" Pink and White Organdy ribbon, dimensionals

Cupcake Birthday

I still remember Sheila demonstrating techniques with this stamp set at On Stage, and that memory returns whenever I use this set.

But, unfortunately all good things come to an end.  This set and its coordinating framelits, are on the retirement list.   So, one last card - for the road.

Cupcake:
Icing:
Using the Stamparatus, the icing was stamped first with Pink Pirouette (retiring colour), Sweet Sugarplum (also retiring) and finally Rich Razzelberry. Sprinkles of candy were stamped with Rich Razzelberry.

Cone:
This was stamped in Crumb Cake and Early Espresso

Both the cupcake icing and cone were die cut using the Cupcake Cut outs Framelits and added to a Whisper White Stitched Circle die cut - the icing with dimensionals.  The stitched circle was matted with a Sweet Sugarplum scallop circle the two of which were adhered together using dimensionals. The sentiment, stamped in Rich Razzelberry on Whisper White, was made into a banner and added to the side of the cone with some mini dimensionals.

The card front is comprised of a 4 1/4 by 11 thick Whisper White top fold card.  Before adding the strip of Party Time DSP (retiring) to the left side, some texture was stamped in Rich Razzelberry ink using the dot stamp from Timely Texture (also retiring)  A strip of Burlap ribbon as well as metallic edge Berry Burst ribbon added over and on the edge of the DSP help to unite the colours in the card.

The focal image was added to the card front using dimensionals. Adhesive backed Tutti-Fruitti sequins were adhered at random providing some sparkle and colour.
