Birthday Confetti Card - a CASE

This card I CASEd from Cindy Wilkinson here  I saw it on her blog this morning and I just loved it.

Some people, including Cindy, call this a faux shaker card, and I guess in some ways it is.  I call it a confetti card, because the window sheet pouch is filled with confetti (made by punching the Star border punch)

To make the card I started with a Tangerine Tango base layered with Birthday Bash DSP.

The confetti pouch is quite easy to make.  Take 2 pieces of  3 1/2 by 4 3/4" of window sheet and apply Washi tape on 3 sides of it.  To this pouch add confetti made by punching  pieces of Tangerine Tango, and Bermuda bay cardstock and punching them with the Star border punch.  For some bling I unstrung some gold sequins and added it to the mix (save 4 or 5 of them to decorate the outside of the card).  After the confetti has been added, seal the top with a piece of Washi tape.

Before attaching it to the card, I wrapped a piece of Calypso coral ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory pack (SAB) and tied it into a bow near the top.  The sentiment, stamped in Tangerine Tango and die cut with the banner framelit was added to the top with one edge slightly under the ribbon.  Dimensionals were used for this.

The sentiment was stamped using Bermuda Bay ink, and punched with the 2 1/2" circle punch, then layered with a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock which had been die cut with the Starburst framelit. The two were adhered together with dimensionals, and added to the card with dimensionals as well.
The sentiment was stamped a second time with Tangerine Tango, and the banner "sentiment" was cut out and attached to the punched out one with two small pieces of dimensionals.

The confetti pouch was attached to the card with Vellum tape.  If you don't have any of that you can use glue dots.  Snail adhesive will show through the window sheet.

The last thing I did was take those extra sequins and add them several places on the front of the card.

Valentine Day Card - Be Mine

Today I'm working ahead and making card samples for future classes.  At the end of the month the theme is Valentine's Day.  Here is one card for that class.  The second card will be shown under a separate post.

The colour scheme for Valentine's Day this year seems to be Real Red, Calypso Coral and Black.  All these colours have been used in this card.

The focal image was stamped with Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock and die cut using the Circle Framelits.  A Real Red mat was die cut using Starburst Framelits.  Some dazzling Detail was added around the perimeter of the white circle, because what's a Valentine's Day card without bling.

For the rest of the card, Calypso Coral cardstock was used as the base, layered with Whisper White which was embossed with the Lucky Hearts folder.  A 1 1/4" strip of striped Real Red and Calypso coral DSP from the Stacked with Love DSP pack was attached along the left side.  A 3/4" strip of mainly Calypso Coral DSP from the same DSP pack was notched at both ends and added to the lower part of the card.

The focal image was now attached to the card towards the left side.  The sentiment was stamped in Real Red and added just above the Calypso Coral notched strip.  Small heart punchies in Real Red, and Calypso coral, from the heart border punch, were added randomly above the sentiment.  Some Dazzling Details was placed on these as well.

Finally, some large rhinestones were attached to the Calypso Coral strip.  One was coloured Real Red, and the other Calypso Coral.

Another White Winter card

I'm at a craft fair today, but I had this card prepared for posting.

I'm really fascinated by the White winter Stamp set.  I have been inspired to make many different Christmas cards, all of which I have posted on this blog.  This time the image is created in a circle and I use the polar bear which I stamped separately and cut out.  If I had been thinking clearly I could have used the masking technique, but alas did not think of that until the sky had been sponged.

The sky is sponged with Marina Mist and Pacific Point inks.  Then I used white acrylic paint and the end of a paint brush to dab on snow flakes.
Memento ink was used to stamp the trees and the cardinals, both of which were coloured with blendabilities.
To mimic snow on the ground, some dazzling diamonds was added.  The time of day must be dawn as the snow covered ground looks blue, something which is very typical in the winter time - here in Ontario anyway.
The image was die cut using the circles framelit, and matted with a Starburst framelit in Pacific Point cardstock.  The two were attached together using dimensionals.  Then some silver glass glitter was added around the perimeter of the circle.
The ribbon used was 1 1/4" striped Pacific Point, which I cut in half lengthwise and frayed.

Poinsettia card

What's Christmas without a poinsettia plant.  I always get a number of them to put around the house, and they provide such a splash of colour in an otherwise gray(or white) world.
For this card I did a lot of embossing and a lot of cutting, but it was worth it.  I love the way the poinsettia from the Joyful Christmas stamp set turned out.

Rosette Wreath - a CASE

I saw this Rosette wreath on Pinterest and was absolutely fascinated by it, so I made one too.  It was originally created by Mary Haugan (I think that's the name), and what a wonderful job she did.
Here is mine.  It is not exactly the same, but close enough.

The Rosette is made using Flowerpot DSP.  The center is made using the framelets from Starburst Sayings and Circle Framelits.  The sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder on Crumb Cake card stock and die cut using the Apothecary accent framelit.  A piece of burlap ribbon is adhered behind the center piece.  A rose made with the Spiral Flower die completes the wreath.

You Make the World a Better Place - Pal Paper Arts

Today's card uses one of the new stamp sets from the Occasions catalogue.  I've been dying to use it since it arrived a couple of days ago.  The sketch with Pal Paper Arts here provided me with the perfect opportunity.

The base card is Melon Mambo layered with Whisper White and then Gingham Garden designer series paper.

I adhered a paper doilie to the bottom end to end some texture and interest, then I added a strip of Melon Mambo embossed with the scallop embossing folder.  A white taffeta ribbon coloured with an Elegant Eggplant marker was placed at the inner end of this strip of melon mambo.  I then added a ribbon coloured the same way.

The sentiment was stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Whisper White cardstock and die cut with the Starburst framelit, also from the Occasions catalogue.  It was adhered to the card using dimensionals.
