You Brighten My Day

Sale-a-bration is in full swing, and the stamp set and DSP I used are free with an order of $60.00 or more.
"You Brighten my Day" - isn't that what friends are all about?

The image was stamped with Memento ink onto White cardstock.  Then coloured with blendabilites - Daffodil Delight.  It was punched with the 1 3/4" circle punch, and layered with a Daffodil Delight die from the Circles framelit using dimensionals. It was then attached to a Coastal Cabana  window die cut using the Windows framelit.

The base card is Coastal Cabana, layered with Whisper White, and then You Brighten My Day DSP (SAB).  A smaller piece of the same DSP was matted with Soft Suede cardstock, and attached to the card, with a strip of Soft Suede laying across it.  The Soft Suede piece was embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing folder and a piece of Coastal Cabana ribbon (part of the Best Year Ever  accessory pack  SAB) spanned across it.  I also made a ribbon from it and attached it to the right side of the card.
The buttons are also from the SAB accessory pack.

Another White Winter card

I'm at a craft fair today, but I had this card prepared for posting.

I'm really fascinated by the White winter Stamp set.  I have been inspired to make many different Christmas cards, all of which I have posted on this blog.  This time the image is created in a circle and I use the polar bear which I stamped separately and cut out.  If I had been thinking clearly I could have used the masking technique, but alas did not think of that until the sky had been sponged.

The sky is sponged with Marina Mist and Pacific Point inks.  Then I used white acrylic paint and the end of a paint brush to dab on snow flakes.
Memento ink was used to stamp the trees and the cardinals, both of which were coloured with blendabilities.
To mimic snow on the ground, some dazzling diamonds was added.  The time of day must be dawn as the snow covered ground looks blue, something which is very typical in the winter time - here in Ontario anyway.
The image was die cut using the circles framelit, and matted with a Starburst framelit in Pacific Point cardstock.  The two were attached together using dimensionals.  Then some silver glass glitter was added around the perimeter of the circle.
The ribbon used was 1 1/4" striped Pacific Point, which I cut in half lengthwise and frayed.

Stamps: White Christmas, More Merry Messages
Inks:Memento, Blendabilities, Marina Mist, Pacific Point, White Acrylic Paint (non SU)
Papers: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
Accessories: Circles framelits, Starburst framelit, 1 1/4" striped Pacific Point ribbon, starburst folder (retired), dimensionals, silver glass glitter, dazzling diamonds

Tis the Season to be Fancy

I'm continuing to make Christmas cards using the stamp set "Visions of Santa".  I'm still not sure  if I like this stamp set, but it's growing on me. The Santas still look a little weird (but in a cute sort of way) .
Today I featured  the Moose.

The image was stamped with Memento ink and coloured with blendabilities.  It was then die cut using the circles framelits, and  dazzling diamonds put under his feet.

Stamp: Visions of Santa
Inks: Memento, Basic Black, Blendabilities (Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso)
Papers: Early Espresso, Whisper White, Trim the Tree DSP Pack, Real Red
Accessories: Circles Framelits, Oval punch, Bitty Framelits, Cherry Cobbler seam blinding, Decorative Dots embossing folder, dimensionals, dazzling diamonds.

A Partridge in a Pear Tree

It was actually fun colouring this single stamp from the Holiday Catalogue using blendabilities.  It looks like there's a lot of detail there but once you start colouring the process goes pretty fast.

Once coloured, the image was die cut using the circles framelits, with a larger circles framelit in Old Olive to mat it.  The edges of both of these were sponged with chocolate chip ink.
The designer paper I used was from a retired set from last year.

Stamp: Partridge & Pears
Inks: Black Memento, Blendabilities, Chocolate Chip
Papers: Old Olive, Whisper White, retired DSP
Accessories:1 1/4" striped Hello Honey grosgrain ribbon, Circles framelits, dimensionals, Dazzling diamonds

You Mean the World to Me - Unscripted Sketches 235

My Stampin' Up order arrived the other day, and in the box was the new Valentine's Day stamp sets.  So, of course I had to play with them, making a card using the sketch with Unscripted Sketches here

Sketch_235

The base cardstock is Real Red, layered with Whisper White and then a piece of Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The latter did not extend all the way to the bottom of the card, and a strip of scallopped red glimmer paper was attached to the bottom.

I stamped the image using Soft Suede ink onto Whisper White card stock i.e. only the globe of the world (the rest was taped over). The white areas of the globe were coloured using a Pool Party marker.  Then I used the Owl Builder punch to punch out a small red glimmer heart and adhered it over the heart on the globe.  The image was die cut using the Circles Framelits and the edges of the circle sponged with Real Red ink.
I then covered over the globe portion of the stamp, and stamped the sentiment using Real Red ink onto Whisper White card stock.  This strip of cardstock was matted with Real Red cardstock and placed over the circle just beneath the world globe - using dimensionals.

Stamp: Love You More
Inks: Soft Suede, Real Red, Pool Party marker
Papers: Real Red, Whisper White, Red Glimmer paper, Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper stack
Accessories: Circles framelits, 1" circle punch, Owl Builder Punch, scallop edge punch, dimensionals
