Hello New Baby, Try Stampin' on Tuesday #314

The sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday has a baby animals theme, but I decided to use an actual human baby.  The sketch is by Vicki

I started by punching one end of two pieces of 1 5/8 by 2 1/2" pieces of Whisper White card stock with the angle top tag punch. The edges of both tags were sponged with Mint Macaron ink.

Tag 1:  A strip of Up and Away DSP was attached to the bottom end.  Three clouds were die cut with the Up and Away Thinlet dies and the edges were sponged with Mint Macaron. They were attached to the tag with a glue dot.  The baby was added with dimensionals.
This tag was added to the card front with tombo- at an angle.

Tag 2:  Some  Pear Pizzaz glimmer paper was die cut with the oval die in the Timeless Tags Thinlets,  This was matted with a Whisper White oval tag that looks like sunrays. The center sentiment was stamped first and then die cut using the same thinlet. It was added to the Pear Pizzazz glitter backing using dimensionals. This unit was added to the Angle top tag using dimensionals.
The entire tag was attached to the card front with dimensionals, slightly overlapping the other tag, again at an angle

A 1/4" Mink Macaron double bow was added to the tag fronts.

The card base is Mint Macaron, layered with Whisper White, and then a piece of Whisper White stamped with Mint Macaron ink and the background stamp "Brush Strokes"

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Moon Baby, That's the Tag, Brushstrokes Background
Inks: Black Memento, Mint Macaron, copics
Papers: Mint Macaron, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz glimmer paper, Up & Away DSP
Accessories: Up & Away Thinlets, Timeless Tags Thinlets, 1/4" Mint Macaron ribbon, Angle top tag punch, dimensionals, glue dots

Now it is your turn to create something using this sketch.  As usual you have 2 weeks to make something.  When done, upload it to the Try Stampin on Tuesday blog or its Facebook page. While you are either site, take some time to check the work of the other designers and leave them some comments.

Twinkle, twinkle Little Star - Try Stampin on Tuesday #309

...how I wonder who you are. That childhood song is echoing in my head as I write this post.  It's something my daughter used to sing when she was about 5 years old while she was swinging back  and forth on her swing.
This card was made using the sketch provided by Vicki for Try Stampin' on Tuesday #309, a site for which I am a designer.  The optional theme this week was "wish".
Again, another song popped into my head "When you wish upon a star..."
So, like the sketch, I made a card with stars on it.

Card:
The base card is Sahara Sand layered with Very Vanilla and then Falling in Love DSP.  I chose my DSP first and the colours for the card came from there.

Art Pieces:
The trio of baby toys, was incorporated into a single stamp, not three separate ones.  The trio of toys was stamped onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I just love the new Stampin' Up Watercolor Pencils, and I used those to colour these toys blending the colours with a Blender Pen.

Each image was then cut out and set aside while the rest of the card elements were prepared.

Three stars were die cut in Very Vanilla card stock using the smallest star of the retired Star Framelits.  The edges were sponged with Blushing Bride ink and then matted with a larger Blushing Bride glimmer star punched with the Medium Star punch.

Note:  The only adhesive that will work on glimmer paper is tombo glue!!

A dimensional was used to adhere these two stars together.
Three of these stars were made and then adhered to the left side of the card front.

Several itty bitty stars were punched from the remnants of Blushing Bride glimmer paper. I make it a habit to use every scrap of my glimmer paper and punch them with either the itty bitty star punch or heart punch. They are put them in a jar, a jar for each colour/shape, so they are readily available for use wherever.

Two of these were added to the card front between the art pieces.

Sentiment:
The sentiment, the same as the blog title, was stamped with Sahara Sand ink on Very Vanilla card stock. After sponging the edges, the sentiment was matted with  Sahara Sand using dimensionals, and then Blushing Bride glimmer paper. This was adhered to the right side of the card front.
To complete the trio of embellishments (three, or any odd number, is always the magic number to consider when using embellishments) the third star was adhered to the right top of the sentiment.

Inside:
A 3/4" piece of DSP was adhered to the Very Vanilla card stock. The sentiment was stamped with Sahara Sand ink as was the image of the trio of baby toys.

Three Blushing Bride glimmer itty bitty stars were placed along the DSP strip.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Moon Baby
Inks: Black Memento, Sahara Sand, Stampin' Up Watercolor Pencils, Blushing Bride
Papers: Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Falling in Love DSP, Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Star Framelits (retired), Medium star punch, Itty Bitty star punch (retired), Blender Pen, Clear Wink of Stella glimmer brush, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

When she was 2 years old, my daughter used to sit on the swing in the back yard swinging back and forth singing, very loudly, "Twinkle, twinkle, little star".  It was her favourite song.

When I saw this sentiment on the Moon Baby stamp set it took me back. I can still hear her singing.

This card depicts a baby sleeping on a crescent moon - just adorable!!

The image was stamped onto Whisper White and coloured with ink pads and a blender pen.  It was then cut out while the rest of the card was prepared.

A 1 3/4 by 4 1/4" piece of Night of Navy cardstock was punched in a random manner with a petite star punch.  Some silver foil card stock was placed behind this piece and adhered to the Night of Navy card front.

The cut out image of the baby sleeping on the moon was adhered to the card front in the space beside the starred panel. A gold foil star was superimposed on the star hanging on a string in the baby's hand, and two other stars added in the sky.
Some dazzling details was added to the moo and the baby.

The sentiment was punched with the ticket builder punch, matted with gold foil card stock and adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Moon Baby
Inks: Black Memento, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Pink Pirouette, Flirtatious Flamingo
Papers: Night of Navy, Gold Foil card stock, Whisper White
Accessories: Petite star punch, Ticket Builder Punch, dimensionals, Dazzling details

Hello Baby

What everyone has been waiting for has happened!  The Occasions Catalogue has gone live and SAB has launched.  However, so many people placed their order that the web site went down.  Imagine that!

Today I'm sharing with you two cards made using the Moon Baby stamp set.  I will share the third card tomorrow. Those images are just adorable!

Art Pieces:
Both babies holding an umbrella were stamped with Black Memento ink onto Whisper White card stock and coloured with ink pads and a blender pen.  The little girl was coloured with Pink Pirouette and shaded with Flirtatious Flamingo; the hair with Crumb Cake. Marina Mist and Pool Party were used for the little boy, who's hair was coloured with Daffodil Delight. For both babies the skin was coloured with very light Pink Pirouette.
Some action marks were made around the body, legs and umbrella.
Some rain drops were stamped around the babies using the Timeless Texture stamp and Soft Sky ink.
The Stitched Oval die was used to die cut the girl image; the stitched round one the boy.
For the boy child, the sentiment was stamped underneath the umbrella.
Dazzling details was added to the umbrella and parts of each baby.

The Card: (Girl)
The Pink Pirouette card base was matted with Whisper White and then Pink Pirouette DSP.  The final layer of Whisper White was stamped with both large and small clouds using Basic Gray ink.  A couple of the clouds extended into the die cut image.
A piece of 3/8" silver metallic ribbon (SAB) was wrapped around the bottom and the sentiment unit adhered on top of that.

The art piece was adhered to the card front above the sentiment using dimensionals- making sure the cloud shapes matched.

The Card: (Boy)
The basic card is Pool Party layered with Whisper White embossed with the Gently Falling embossing folder.
A 2" strip of pool party DSP was punched with the Triple Banner punch and a piece of 3/8" silver metallic ribbon adhered to the lower part above the notch. It was then adhered to the card front near the top centered over the banner.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Moon Baby, Timeless Texture, Lift Me Up.
Inks: Black Memento, Pink Pirouette, Flirtatious Flamingo, Marina Mist, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray
Papers: Pink Pirouette, Pink Pirouette DSP, Whisper White, Pool Party, Pool Party DSP
