Elements of Style - for You - Color Challenge with Stampin' Fun and Friends

As you are aware, I am a designer on the Stampin' Fun and Friends site, and this week there is a color challenge for both designers and members.
The colors:  Baja breeze, Island Indigo, and Lucky Limeade.
Here is my card:

Technique:
Base card is Baja Breeze card stock, layered with Whisper White embossed with the Chevron folder.  All edges are sponged with Island Indigo ink.

Designer Paper Panel:
A strip of Twitterpated Designer paper was layered onto Baja Breeze card stock that had been scallop punched at both long edges.  Again all edges were sponged with Island Indigo Ink.  Two pieces of Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon were attached to the designer paper.
The entire unit was attached to the embossed Whisper white card stock just slightly off center.

Image:
The floral image from Elements of Style was stamped with Black Stazon ink on Whisper White card stock and colored with Baja Breeze markers,  highlighting with an Island Indigo marker.  Blending was done using a blender pen.  The leaves were colored with a Lucky Limeade marker, with shading done with Baja breeze marker and a blender pen.  Some dazzling diamonds was put in the center of the flowers. Before matting onto the colored card stock, I used the mat pack & paper piercer to pierce a half diamond in the top 2 corners.
The image panel was matted first with a Baja Breeze layer and then an Island Indigo layer.
This was attached to the front of the card using dimensionals.

Stamp: Elements of Style
Inks: Black Stazon, SU markers (Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade), Island Indigo
Papers: Baja Breeze, Whisper white, Island Indigo
Accessories: Chevron folder, Dazzling diamonds, 1" circle punch, Mat pack & paper piercer, 3/8" Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon, dimensionals, Scallop border punch, blender pen

French Foliage Sympathy - Try Stampin' on Tuesday # 80

Even though the temperatures have begun to soar again, we have had a taste of the fall to come.  Already some of the leaves on the trees are turning (that could be the drought we had) various hues of browns and reds.  So today, for the challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday here    I thought I would make a fall card - with sympathy that the summer is almost over.

Technique:
Base is Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The next layer is Very Vanilla which is embossed with the Framed Tulip folder and the edges sponged first with Crumb Cake ink, and then Early Espresso.  The swirly stamp from Elements of Style was stamped at an angle onto the middle of this layer, using Crumb Cake ink.
Image Panel This was collage stamped using the stamp set French Foliage and the 3 colors of inks mentioned below.  A double butterfly (Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler) was attached at the upper left corner.  Pearls were placed on the body and extended over onto the panel.
Embellishments: Itty Bitty buttons, under which were placed a tiny circle of Cherry Cobbler card stock punch with the Itty Bitty punch (circle).  Pearls were attached to the top of each button.

Stamps:  Elements of Style, French Foliage, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
Papers:  Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Framed Tulips folder, Butterfly punch, Word window punch, Itty Bitty circle punch, 1/2" cherry cobbler scalloped dotted ribbon, Itty bitty buttons, pearls, dimensionals

Just for You - Sketch Frenzy Friday

What a week this has been!  The exact opposite of last week - rainy and below seasonal temperatures.  I am relieved in a way that the oppressive heat is gone but I'm missing the sunshine which finally returned on Wednesday.
Today, being Friday, is time for another mini blog hop with Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Hope you find time to join us and enjoy the talent of the other team members by visiting their blogs.
The newStampin' Up calendar has been out for a week now, and I love some of the new goodies in the book. I don't have too many of the products yet, but the ones I have I love.
In today's card the new "In colors" markers, paper, and ribbon are used.  Hope you like the colors as much as I do.
The sketch this week is by Tammy Fife.  To make my card I turned the sketch on its side.

For You - Elements of Style - Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge #38

What another beautiful day today, so what am I doing indoors making cards?
I went to the gym and walked on the treadmill and then did some swimming and now my knee needs a bit of a vacation.  It's quite swollen. So, I'm at my desk making cards.

This card is for the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge #38 here

The focal point, the Elements of Style stamp, was stamped with Black Stazon and colored with watercolor pencils and blended with mineral spirits.  It was then punched using the 1 3/4" punch, layered with a 2" Whisper White circle using the Circles #2 die and finally with the Pretty in Pink scalloped circle from the Pennant die. For some reason I thought Elements of Style was retiring, but I find it's not.  Yeah!!!
The challenge sketch is below.

Stained Glass Technique - Elements of Style

This card is also a repost from a year ago.

It looks like I will be in hospital until early next week and I can't make any new cards for you.  Thought you might like this one.

The Stained Glass Technique involves stamping an image on a piece of card stock vellum, and then coloring the image on the wrong side.
I used the Elements of Style stamp set, one of my favourite stamp sets, to create this card.

Stamps: Elements of Style, Just Believe
Inks: Pacific Point, Markers (Pacific Point to color the ribbons, Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive to color the flowers) Vellum sponged with Pacific Point ink
Papers: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Vellum card stock
Accessories: Square Lattice embossing folder, Scallop Edge Punch, 5/8" Whisper White Organza ribbon, Old Olive button, glue dots, Curly Label Punch, dimensionals

Vintage Elements of Style - The Friday Mashup #46

"I'm not old, just vintage"  Sounds like they were talking about me - but I jest.
This is my card for the Friday Mashup challenge here

Here is the challenge:

My card:

The stamp  from the Elements of Style stamp set was watercolored, but very lightly to give the appearance that the color had faded. The Whisper White Cardstock was then torn and crumpled and lightly sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  The Marina Mist matting was also distressed.
The card base is Baja Breeze, with a Whisper White layer texturized with the Perfect Details texturz plate - and then lightly sponged with Crumb Cake ink.
The image was deliberately mounted "crooked" - as if the glue had worn away.
The embellishments in the corner were made with the butterfly punch - the punchie embossed with the square lattice embossing folder , then crumpled and sponged with Crumb Cake ink.   The ribbon flower was made by pulling a piece of thread tightly.  It was attached to the butterfly with a glue dot.

The photo corner punch was also sponged and crumpled.

Here is the recipe:
Stamps: Elements of Style, Friendly Phrases
Inks: Black Stazon, SU markers, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Papers: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Butterfly punch, Photo corner punch, 1 3/4 by 7/8" oval punch, Victoria Crochet trim, Square lattice embossing folder, Perfect Details Texturz Plate
