Forever Fern and clear block stamping -Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge #382

Clear block stamping is a technique I had almost forgotten about but I was playing with it last week and thought it would be perfect to try for the colour challenge with the Paper Craft Crew Challenge .
The colours:  yellow, blue, pink and green reminded me of the new 2020-2022 In Colours (Misty Moonight, Magenta Madness, Just Jade, and Bumblebee),  so they were used for this challenge.

Color challenge using Yellow, Blue, Bright Pink, Bright Green.

Misty Moonlight,  Bumblebee, and Magenta Madness ink was directly applied to a H clear block, spritzed with water, and then stamped onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Once dry, the dot stamp from Forever Fern was used to add some Misty Moonlight ink randomly over the colour panel.

After cutting out the panel with the SU trimmer, it was matted with some Just Jade card stock, and adhered to a 3 3/4 by 5" piece of Whisper White card stock embossed with the Delicate Diamond embossing folder, near the left side.

A large leaf  was die cut from Just Jade card stock using a Forever Flourishing die and adhered at an angle across the colourful panel with a 1/4" gingham Bumblebee bow  adhered to the stem.

A sentiment,  matted with Bumblebee card stock, is added near the card bottom.

To finish the card, some Misty Moonlight embellishments were added.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Forever Fern
Inks:  Misty Moonight, Bumblebee, Magenta Madness, Just Jade, Black Memento
Papers:  Misty Moonlight, Magenta Madness, Whisper White, Just Jade
Accessories:  H Block, Spritzer, Delicate Diamond embossing folder, In Color embellishments, Forever Flourishing Die, 1/4" Bumblebee gingham ribbon

Single layer Thank You card -Hand Stamped Sentiments #342

As I have mentioned frequently I don’t participate in colour challenges- usually.... Unless the colours speak to me, which of course is unscientific and cannot be proven.  However, I’m sticking to my story.

The colour challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments #341 is for the following colours: Pool Party, Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay. Did you picture ferns?

Using those colours I decided to do a technique I haven't done for a while - clear block stamping.

A "D" block, inked with Pool Party ink, is spritzed lightly with water and stamped onto a 3 3/4 by 5" piece of Whisper White towards the top half.  After it was dry, two images from "Forever Fern" were stamped over this background - the larger one with Bermuda Bay; the other with Mint Macaron. Some Bermuda Bay "dots" were added to the background - another stamp from the Forever Fern stamp set. The sentiment, stamped in Bermuda Bay, is from "Positive Thoughts"

To fit in with the colour scheme, a 1/4" Whisper White ribbon is coloured with a Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend, tied into a bow and added at the junction of the two stems with a glue dot.

This Whisper White layer is matted with Mint Macaron card stock, and this in turn is added to a Bermuda Bay card base.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Forever Fern, Positive Thoughts
Inks:  Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend
Papers:  Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, Whisper White
Accessories:  D Block, Spritzer with water, 1/4" Whisper White ribbon

Nature Sings Birthday

Nature Sings is really a Christmas stamp set, but I think it's perfect for a masculine birthday card.

The background was made by stamping with a clear block - in this case the "E" block.  Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake ink were applied directly onto an E stamping block, spritzed generously with water, and then stamping the block directly onto Watercolor paper applying pressure. I left the block in place on the water color paper for a few minutes to allow for maximum absorption into the water colour paper.

I was impatient to get the card made so I used my heating tool to dry the art piece.  I trimmed the piece to make it the size I wanted  and  sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.

The images were stamped using Early Espresso ink, and coloured using both the Light and Dark Stampin' Blendabilities.

The art piece was matted first with Early Espresso card stock, then Sahara Sand followed by Crumb Cake.  Some linen thread was wrapped 3 times around the left end and tied into a bow after which it was added to the card front using dimensionals.

The card base is Early Espresso card stock, layered with Crumb Cake which has a 2" piece of Wood DSP adhered to it.

The sentiment is from "Remembering Your Birthday" and is matted with Early Espresso cardstock before being added to the card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Nature Sings, Remembering Your Birthday
Inks:  Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake ( back ground), Early Espresso, Stampin' Blendabilities (Light and Dark Crumb cake), Soft Suede (sponging edges)
Papers:  Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Wood DSP, Watercolor Paper
Accessories:  Linen Thread, Dimensionals

Clear Block Stamping - Thinking of You - Challenge 190 LNS

For challenge 190,  it's getting Back to the Basics time! This means creating a ONE LAYER card (card base only)  adding  a technique that gives the card that extra something since there are no layers!

I chose to use clear block stamping and the collage technique.

 Technique:
The card base is Whisper White card stock.  On the front, I took 2 sizes of clear stamping blocks, C and H, and inked them with Crumb Cake ink.  They were stamped on the front of the card in the position shown on the card.
The sentiment was then stamped on the top right of the card before I did the collage stamping.
The images from French Foliage were randomly stamped using Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip ink.
To complete the card, the edges were sponged with Chocolate chip ink.

Stamps:  French Foliage, Sassy Salutations
Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Papers:  Whisper White
Accessories:  Clear stamping blocks, C and H
