Carols of Christmas - decoration - a CASE

This table decoration was made using a tutorial I purchased from Create with Connie & Mary and uses the Carols of Christmas stamp set and the Card Builder Framelits.

This center piece consists of 3 panels - a center one, and a left and right one.  The tutorial contains the dimensions for each of them and the directions on how to shape them and decorate them.

Supplies:
Stamp: Carols of Christmas
Ink: Versa Mark
Papers:  Thick Whisper White card stock, Silver glimmer paper, Dazzling Diamond glimmer paper
Accessories:  Silver embossing powder, Card Front Builder Framelits

I can see doing this is gold/white, or even in red/green.

Carols of Christmas Tulle Shaker Card

I always love making Shaker cards, and this Christmas card (using the Carols of Christmas) is no different,  But instead of using  a window sheet to construct the shaker unit I used a glitter tulle.

It was difficult to take a photograph of this card because of all the glitter on the card.

The base card is Garden Green, layered first with Gold Foil paper followed by Be Merry DSP.  Before adding the Be Merry DSP it was die cut with the Card Front Builder Framelit allowing the trim detail at the top to show through to the gold foil.

One of the circle dies from the layering circles framelits was die cut through both the foil and DSP layers.  Before making the shaker element, The sentiment was stamped onto the card base. The tulle was folded in half, shaker elements placed inside, and tape and tear tape used to adhered the tulle to the back of the front piece.  The card front was then adhered to the card base.

The trees were die cut in both Gold Foil and Dazzling Details glimmer paper and placed around the bottom of the shaker unit. I little deer was also die cut and placed by one of the trees.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Carols of Christmas
Inks:  Garden Green, Gold Marker
Papers:  Whisper White, Gold Foil, Dazzling Details Glimmer Paper, Be Merry DSP
Accessories:  Card Front Builder Framelits, Fancy Frost Sequins, smaller glitter beads (non SU), glitter Tulle

Carols of Christmas Twisted Easel Card

This card was made for a challenge with another group I belong to.  The Twisted Easel card is quite easy to make and I did not need a tutorial to made one.  Because Christmas is fast approaching, as are my craft shows, I decided to make this a Christmas card.

I scored a 4 1/4 by 9 3/4" piece of Garden Green card stock at 5 1/2", and then scored the 4 1/4 piece at an angle towards the center of the card. Some Be Merry DSP was added to front half.

For the art piece, I first die cut silver foil paper using the largest of the Labels Framelits, and  then some Be Merry DSP using the next smallest of the Labels Framelits.  Before adhering it to the Silver Foil piece I die cut the moon and stars at the top. I also added two die cut trees (one in Cherry Cobbler and one in Dazzling Diamond Glimmer paper) and a little deer.

The bottom part of this art piece was adhered to this triangle.

For the base, I first stamped "Peace on Earth" in Garden Green on some Whisper White card stock.  This was adhered to the Christmas DSP and the  Silver Foil.  I stamped and die cut some Holly and Ivy and added it to the upper left corner of the sentiment piece. All Layers were added to the base.

At the bottom of the base, I trimmed a piece of Dazzling Details Glimmer paper to mimic a snow bank, and added another layer near the bottom.  A pair of Cherry Cobbler trees were added between the two layers, and a Garden Green tree added in front of them using dimensionals.  A little Cherry Cobbler deer was also added with dimensionals.

This layer provides the "door stop" for the Easel Card.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Carols of Christmas
Inks:  Garden Green, Markers (Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler)
Papers:  Garden Green, Silver Foil, Be Merry DSP, Cherry Cobbler, Dazzling Details Glimmer Paper
Accessories:  Card Front Builder Thinlets, Labels Framelits, Dimensionals

Peace on Earth -Sketch Saturday # 472

This is the second Christmas card I made today using the Carols of Christmas stamp set with its coordinating Card Front Builder framelits.

For this card, I used the sketch challenge with Sketch Saturday here

I started with a Cherry Cobbler base and layered it with a piece of Whisper White cardstock embossed with the Holly embossing folder.  I highlighted the Ivy leaves and berries with the Clear Wink of Stella glimmer brush.

The focal image was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink and immediately embossed with Clear Embossing powder.  It was layered with Cherry Cobbler card stock and added to the card front using dimensionals.

Before adhering  the embossed Whisper White layer to the card base, I wrapped some Cherry Cobbler Baker's twine three times around this layer from top to bottom, then tied it together just above the focal image.

Below the focal image dangle some stamped and die cut Christmas ornaments.  I hand drew the strings that the ornaments were tied to.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Christmas Carol
Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green
Papers:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Accessories:  Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Holly Embossing Folder, Clear Wink of Stella glimmer Brush, Dazzling details, dimensionals. Card Front Builder framelits

My First Christmas Card - Deck the Halls

Now that my July craft show is over, I am starting to make my Christmas cards.  Egad you say!!
Since I am booked up with Christmas shows I really have to start now.
This card, and the card on the next post, were made using the new Christmas stamp I was able to preorder, "Carols of Christmas"

I think I hummed the words to this Christmas carol the whole time I was making this card. "Deck the halls with  boughs of ivy ....."

I highlighted the words with Old Olive and Real Red markers, then die cut the resultant sentiment with Layering Circle framelits.  A mat of scallop Old Olive card stock was die cut at the same time, and the two were adhered together.

In between the words I stamped some Ivy leaves, and below a poinsettia and leaves.

The main card consists of Old Olive card stock, layered first with Whisper White embossed with the Sparkle embossing folder and Iridescent embossing powder and then a piece of Whisper White stamped with the Music Sheet background stamp.  The edges of this Music layer were distressed with scissors and then sponged with Basic Gray ink.  I adhered this layer to the embossed layer sideways.

A piece of Real Red stitched satin ribbon (retired) was added around the middle of the card, and the focal image was adhered to the right side using dimensionals.

Below the ribbon I adhered an Old Oval tree and 2 deer, all of which were die cut using the Card Builder framelits.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Carols of Christmas, Music Sheet Background Stamp
Inks:  Black Memento, Basic Gray, Soft Suede, Versa Mark, Markers (Old Olive, Real Red)
Papers:  Old Olive, Whisper White, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Sparkle embossing folder, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, 1/2" stitched satin Real Red ribbon, Card Front Builder Framelits, Dazzling Details (clear & red) both retired, dimensionals
