Peaceful Boughs - catalogue sneak peak

Happy Labour Day!!

It's hard to believe that the summer is winding down and there are two weeks left before the winds of fall blow. The children are returning to school tomorrow and the days are getting shorter.  My thoughts  are increasingly turning to preparation for the fall and winter (Brrr I hate to use that word).

The Holiday catalogue goes live on Sept 4.  Today's  card uses one of the stamp sets from this catalogue.

On a Cherry Cobbler base is added a Whisper White layer embossed with the new Hammered Metal embossing folder.  At the bottom a 3" strip of card stock stamped with the Buffalo Check    background stamp in Cherry Cobbler with green lines drawn in with a Shaded Spruce Stampin' blend marker. This is left over from an earlier project.

The focal point is a 3 by 4" piece of Whisper White card stock matted with Cherry Cobbler.  The sentiment was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink at the bottom first so that I could more accurately assess placement of the branches. The larger of the branch images from the "Peaceful Boughs" stamp set was stamped using Shaded Spruce ink at the top and the tip of a smaller one coming in from the right side just above the sentiment.. Using the "dot" stamp and Crumb Cake ink, that comes with the set, some texture was added to the background.

Three pine cones were then added to the larger branch.  These were stamped with Soft Suede ink and die cut using the Beautiful Boughs Die.  The more intricate overlay of the acorn were die cut in Soft Suede as well. After the two pine cone pieces were adhered together, they were added to the branches using dimensionals.

To finish, three Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel dots were added, and puff paint was applied to the top of each of the acorns.
