Snow Wonder Center Step fold for the Inspiration Challenge Hand Stamped Sentiment #352

I made this card for the Inspiration challenge with Hand Stamped Sentiments #352

It features Mr. and Mrs. Snowman from the Snowman Season stamp set on  a center step fold card.

There are many tutorial on both You Tube and Pinterest on how to make a Center Step Fold card.  The one I found the most helpful is on Splitcoaststampers

The card base of Night of Navy card stock is coordinated by a Night of Navy plaid pattern made by using the Buffalo Plaid stamp set. This is the DSP for the card.

Along the sides and bottom are strips of Whisper White card stock embossed with the 3D Evergreen Forest Embossing Folder lightly sponged with Night of Navy ink.

Two snowmen (Snow Wonder) are stamped in Night of Navy ink; the trees with Shaded Spruce.  Stampin' Blends are used to colour both snowmen. After die cutting them they are added to the center flap with dimensionals.  The snow at their feet is Texture Paste with Dazzling Diamonds sprinkled on top.  This is also added to the trees.

In the top left corner are 3 sprigs of boughs die cut with a  Beautiful Boughs die with a bow made of organza real red ribbon added on top

Both snowmen wish everyone a "Happy Christmas"

Peaceful Boughs - catalogue sneak peak

Happy Labour Day!!

It's hard to believe that the summer is winding down and there are two weeks left before the winds of fall blow. The children are returning to school tomorrow and the days are getting shorter.  My thoughts  are increasingly turning to preparation for the fall and winter (Brrr I hate to use that word).

The Holiday catalogue goes live on Sept 4.  Today's  card uses one of the stamp sets from this catalogue.

On a Cherry Cobbler base is added a Whisper White layer embossed with the new Hammered Metal embossing folder.  At the bottom a 3" strip of card stock stamped with the Buffalo Check    background stamp in Cherry Cobbler with green lines drawn in with a Shaded Spruce Stampin' blend marker. This is left over from an earlier project.

The focal point is a 3 by 4" piece of Whisper White card stock matted with Cherry Cobbler.  The sentiment was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink at the bottom first so that I could more accurately assess placement of the branches. The larger of the branch images from the "Peaceful Boughs" stamp set was stamped using Shaded Spruce ink at the top and the tip of a smaller one coming in from the right side just above the sentiment.. Using the "dot" stamp and Crumb Cake ink, that comes with the set, some texture was added to the background.

Three pine cones were then added to the larger branch.  These were stamped with Soft Suede ink and die cut using the Beautiful Boughs Die.  The more intricate overlay of the acorn were die cut in Soft Suede as well. After the two pine cone pieces were adhered together, they were added to the branches using dimensionals.

To finish, three Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel dots were added, and puff paint was applied to the top of each of the acorns.
