You Brighten my Day - A Teapot full of Flowers - Stampin' Royalty #335

The challenge with Stampin' Royalty this week is the "Use Your Dies" i.e make a project using our dies.
So, for this challenge, I dug out some recently retired dies, used a current stamp set and created this card.  I was inspired by a card similar to this made by jnbcards, which I saw on Pinterest.

  • The base card is Flirty Flamingo 4/1/4 by 11, folded to make a top fold card.
  • The dies cuts and punchies were built upon the next Whisper White layer which had been embossed with the sparkles embossing folder.
Here are the dies/punches I used:
1.  Cups and kettles framelit dies for the tea pot and lid (Whisper White edges with Flirty Flamingo)
2.  Bouquet XL die for the leaves (garden green cardstock)
3.  Petite Petal Punch to make the flowers which had been stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink.

Stamp sets Used:
1.  Petite Petals
2.  Sunburst Sayings
3.  Wild About Flowers

Accessories:
1.  Wink of Stella gold glimmer brush for center of flowers
2.  Wink of Stella clear glimmer for flower petals and tea pot
3.  1/8" gold taffeta ribbon
4.  Pewter embossing powder
5.  Dimensionals.

Sunburst Meets Botanical Blooms

This was one of my class projects for the night.  I decided to pair the Sunburst Thinlet with the Botanical Builder Blooms.  It was a lot of work at the Big Shot, but it was well worth it.

We started by Die cutting the Sunburst framelit using Hello Honey cardstock, after which the die cut was embossed with the Gently Falling Embossing Folder.
This embossed piece then was adhered to a 4 by 5 1/4" piece of Botanical Blooms DSP, and the ends extending over the edge trimmed off.

The following were Die Cut: 1 large 3D flower in Pool Party, 2 smaller 3D flowers (one in Daffodil Delight, and one in Cajun Craze), two tiny flowers (one in Hello Honey and one in Cajun Craze).  Then the centers of the flowers:  2 large (one in Basic Black and one in Hello Honey) and one small one in Basic Black, two large leaves and two small leaves in Old Olive (sponge edges with Mossy Meadow ink).

The following were punched:  One each of  1 3/8" circle in Basic Black; 1 1/2" circle in Hello Honey; and a 1 1/4 " circle in Old Olive.  The Basic Black and Hello Honey were adhered together using dimensionals: the other two adhered to the card base and the circle below it.

The sentiment, from "Sunburst Sayings" was stamped using Black Memento onto Whisper White and die cut using a Banners framelit.

Assemble the flowers as shown and adhere to the card front.  Put some rhinestones in the flower centers as one must have bling!!

This card was a class hit!

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Sunburst Sayings
Ink: Black Memento, Mossy Meadow
Papers: Cajun Craze, Botanical Blooms DSP, Hello Honey, Old Olive, Basic Black, whisper White, Pool Party
Accessories: Gently Falling embossing folder, Sunburst Thinlet, Botanical Builder thinlet and framelits, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/2" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, dimensionals, rhinestones

A Shiny Birthday - The Paper Players # 285

The weather has been so beautifu lately - lots of sunshine, and so mild I went out today without my winter coat!!
So, for the options of "rain or shine" I chose  both "rain" "shine", and I thought the sketch was perfect for the Sunburst Thinlets.
When I say both rain and shine - the card may be a burst of sunshine, but it's raining balloons!

  • base card is Calypso Coral 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
  • Whisper White layer is 4 by 5 1/4"
  • DSP (retired SU) is 3 5/8 by 5"
  • Daffodil Delight was die cut with the Sunburst die and then embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  It was trimmed to the same size as the DSP 3 5/8 by 5"
  •  The embossed sunburst die cut was adhered to the DSP; these were adhered to the Whisper White layer and then the the card base.
  • In the center, the Starburst framelit die was used to die the larger circle using Calypso coral cardstock and adhered to the center of the sunburst die cut.
  • The circles framelits die cut the next layer in daffodil Delight cardstock and adhered to the Calypso coral layer using dimensionals.
  • The gold glimmer paper circle was punched using the 1 1/2" circle punch and adhered to the Daffodil layer.
  • The top layer, in Whisper White was punched with a 1 1/4" circle punch.  The sentiment was embossed with gold embossing powder prior to the circle being punched.  It was adhered to the gold glimmer paper using dimensionals.
  • 3 candles were punched using the Party Punch pack and glued above the word "Happy"

  • On a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, 6 small balloons were punched using the Party Punch pack.  The colour was stamped into each balloon using one of the balloon images from "Balloon celebration".
  • Each balloon was randomly attached to the front using dimensionals, and a black strong drawn with a fine tipped black pen. Some gold Wink of Stella was applied to the base of each balloon.
