A Trio of Words - Try Stampin' on Tuesday or Not # 318

This is my designer card for this week's challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday or Not #318 the theme of which is "A Trio of Words", which turned into phrases.

The phrases are from the "Cottage Greetings" stamp set and after stamping them on Whisper White card stock, I matted them with Melon Mambo card stock.  They were then added to the card front.
A small punched flower and leaf were placed at the end of each phrase.

The basic card is Melon Mambo, matted with Whisper White and then Pop of Pink DSP.  A Basic Black die cut using the Flourishing Thinlet die was adhered to the Pop of Pink DSP below the trio of phrases.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Cottage Greetings
Ink: Black Memento
Papers: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Pop of Pink DSP, Basic Black, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Flourishing Thinlets, dimensionals, small floral punch (non SU)

Now its your turn to create something.  When finished, upload it to the Try Stampin' on Tuesday blog or their Facebook site. This challenge goes for 2 weeks - until May 2.

Cascading Truck Bouquet Birthday - Fusion Card Challenge

This is the first time I have participated in the Fusion Challenge.  I just love having the options to create something using just their sketch, or be inspired by the photo, or do both.

I decided to do both.

I was inspired by the cascading flowers from the truck window to make a card using the sketch provided.

I die cut a circular window surrounded by a scallop circle in the top half of the DSP strip. At the bottom of the window I placed a 3D flower which I made using the Pansy Punch.

Cascading down from this flower are numerous smaller flowers made using the Itty Bitty punch. They spill over the sentiment which is from "Cottage Greetings"

The main card consists of a Sweet Sugar plum base, layered with Whisper White card stock.  In the center is a strip of Sweet Sugar plum DSP with decorative die cut strips on both sides.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Cottage Greetings
Inks: Black Memento, Rich Razzelberry, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive
Papers: Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White, Sweet Sugarplum DSP, Mint Macaron, Old Olive
Accessories: Layering circles framelits, Pansy Punch, Botanical Builder framelits, Itty Bitty flower punch, pearls, gold dazzling details.

Artistically Asian Thanks - Fab Friday #89

I just love the new "In Colors" and for the sketch challenge with Fab Friday I created a background using 3 of them.

]

The background of the image panel was made by sponging three of the new "In Colors" - Sweet Sorbet, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach - in a random pattern making sure the entire surface was covered.

The image was stamped with Versa Mark, and embossed with Black Embossing Powder.  The sentiment, from "Cottage Greetings" was stamped and embossed underneath the image.

The image panel was matted with basic black cardstock, and then two small pieces of 1/4" black ribbon were folded in half and adhered to the left side at about the half way point.

The Basic Black cardstock card base was layered with Playful Palette DSP stack.  Two strips of 1/4" Basic Black cotton ribbon were adhered to this DSP at a slight angle about half way the card.
The image panel was then adhered to the card front ,using dimensionals, over the ribbons

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Artistically Asian, Cottage Greetings
Inks:Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sorbet, Flirty Flamingo, Versa Mark
Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White, Playful Palette DSP
Accessories: 1/4" black cotton ribbon, dimensionals, black embossing powder

Ceramic Coffee Cup with Hand Made Flowers and a birthday card

I found this giant tea (coffee whatever beverage you prefer)cup in a local store, and used it as a receptacle for flowers left over from other projects..
The flowers were inserted into a large balloon which was inflated and covered with strips of retired DSP in mod podge and glue.  The paper was allowed to dry and then the balloon was deflated. This giant ball was perfect to insert the flowers into.  I had to use double sided tape to keep the ball stable in the cup.  In the picture below you can see a bit of the DSP ball and the tape.

I had 4 giant red poppies, 1 blue giant poppie and a large white(watermelon wishes) flower which was left over from my wreath.

The card was one of four I made for the card swap for my upcoming team meeting.

I wanted to use the new In Colors for the swap cards this month
I used the stamp set: You've Got This which was coloured with Flirtatious Flamingo ink and blender pen.  The center is Peekaboo Peach, the stem Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.
The flower was cut out, and adhered to a background stamped with Blue Denim (stamped off once).
On the left side is a strip of Playful Palette DSP with a piece of White Seambinding colored with Blue Denim marker adhered to the inner edge.
Wink of Stella (clear) glimmer brush was applied to the flower.

The sentiment if from "Cottage Greetings"  and adhered with dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: You've Got This, Cottage Greetings
Inks:  Flirtatious Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow, Black Memento, Blue Denim markder
Papers: Flirtatious Flamingo, Whisper White, Playful Bunch DSP
Accessories White seam binding, aqua painter, dimensionals

You've Got this - Happy Birthday - Paper Players #294 and Freshly Made Sketches #235

First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there.  I have finally heard from all my children and feel like a Mother again.

The card I made tonight was made using 2 challenges:  a sketch challenge by Freshly Made Sketches and a colour challenge with The Paper Players.  I needed a birthday card, so this was a good opportunity to make one.

The Background:
I applied the four colours of the challenge as markers on E block, spritzed , and then applied the wet block to watercolour paper.  The heat tool was used to dry the paper.

The Image:
After the background was dry, the image of the flower was stamped at an angle on top of the watercolored background.  Black Memento ink was used.
The image was coloured with ink pads and a blender pen - the flower Pink Pirouette with the center So Saffron and the stem and leaves Pear Pizzazz.  For shading of the flower I used Wisteria Wonder.
Wink of Stella clear glitter was applied to the flower.
The Rest of the Card:
The card base is Pink Pirouette, layered first with Whisper White, then Pear Pizzazz DSP.  The watercolour image paper was matted with Wisteria Wonder and added to the card front using dimensiionals.
The sentiment is from "Cottage Greetings" - stamped in Whisper White with the panel notched at both ends.  It is added to the card using dimensionals.

To finish the card I added some In Color sequins.

Supplies Used:
stamps: You've Got This, Cottage Greetings
Inks: Black Memento, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz (both ink pads and markers)
Papers: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz DSP, Wisteria Wonder, Watercolor Paper
Accessories:Blender Pen, Spritzer, In Color Sequins, Wink of Stella clear glitter brush, dimensiionals.

Happy Home - Thanks

I was so happy to see the Hearth and Home window framelits return in the new Occasions catalogue - with a coordinating stamp with scenes for behind the window.  Ready for another sneak preview for the new Occasions catalogue?

  • Behind the die cut window is a spring scene with pink blossoms on the trees.  Actually its been such a mild winter that the cherry blossoms were blooming in Washington (Dec. 15/15) After placing it behind the die cut window, it was adhered to the card front with dimensionals.
  • The floral image on the sill is from "First Sight" - the flowers from "Happy Home".  Both were hand cut after being stamped.  Rhinestones were plaed in the center of each flower, then I applied some gold Wink of Stella glitter pen.  The blue bird, stamped with Pacific Point, is from "First Sight" and was also hand cut and placed on top of one of the flowers with a glue dot. The sill was also adhered to the frame with dimensionals.
  • The card base is Pink Pirouette, layered with Whisper White, and then Birthday Bouquet DSP.
  • A 1/4" Pink Pirouette ribbon was wrapped around the card and tied into a knot.
  • Tip:  with a craft knife and the card in the open position, make a small slit in the seam.  Make sure there is a hard surface under the card.
Cut the end of the ribbon to be inserted into a sharp angle and insert in this slot.

Wrap the ribbon around the card on the inside, bringing it forward to the front and tie it into a bow or a knot.

The sentiment is from "Cottage Greetings"

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Happy Home, First Sight, Cottage Greeting
Inks: Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Soft Suede, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Memento
Papers: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Birthday Bouquet DSP,
Accessories: Hearth & Home framelits, rhinestones, small oval punch, 1/4" Pink Pirouette ribbon, glue dots, dimensionals Wink of Stella glitter brush (clear and gold).
