A Baseball Birthday - SUO Challenge #320 For the Kids

 This birthday card, for a male child, is similar to one I made for the craft show last weekend.  This show was cancelled due to a sudden severe storm that created havoc in its path.

Any child who loves baseball would love a baseball hat card. I did make it with a boy in mind, but make the hat pink, or leave it the way it is, and it could be for a girl as well.

 I use the "Hats Off" stamp set and coordinating dies as well as Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder.  The sentiment is from "Party Puffins"

The card base of Pacific Point Blue is layered first with Real Red card stock and then Basic White, which was embossed with the 3D Coastal Weave embossing folder.

The hat was die cut using the Hat Builder die with #1 stamped in Real Red ink, die cut and added to the hat front.

What's a ball game without a ball diamond?  A white gel pen was used to draw base lines and base plates on a  2 1/2" square of Garden Green card stock.  This was adhered to the left side of  the embossed piece of Basic White.  The hat was added to the right, slightly overlapping the ball diamond.

Three stars, die cut in Crushed Curry card stock scrap pieces, were added randomly around the hat and diamond.

The sentiment, from "Party Panda" was stamped with Black Memento on a strip of Basic White notched at both ends.  The edges were highlighted with some Basic Gray ink and a finger dauber to make it stand out a it better against the Basic White back ground.

Another die cut hat was added to the inside of the card.

Birthday Delivery for a One Year Old

I was  commissioned by my neighbour to make a birthday card for her great grandson who turns 1 year old on Feb. 5

The Birthday Delivery stamp set with its coordinating framelits and DSP was perfect for this task.

I used thick Whisper White cardstock top fold card for the base, and layered i with Pacific Point card stock.

The Art piece is a Whisper White piece embossed with the Confetti embossing folder (retired).  I cut out one of the animal images from the Birthday Memories DSP as well as 2 birthday presents.  I die cut only 1 balloon and wrote the number  "1" one it.  Some clear Wink of Stella was applied to the balloon, presents, and part of the dancing bear.

The sentiment is from Vertical Greetings.

A 1/2 by 5" strip of striped DSP was adhered along the left hand side.before it was adhered to the Pacific Point layer.

Sweet Stuff - A Birthday card for my Granddaughter

It's hard to believe, but my grandaughter turns 6 pretty soon, so I thought I would get a head start on making her birthday card.
With 2 older brothers, she is a real "girly girl"
, involved in gymnastics and ballet, and loves pink, purple and butterflies.  She nevcr wears jeans or pants and always wears a dress.  Quite a little character she is.
Here's her card.

The image was stamped with memento ink and , yes, coloured with blendabilities.  I really miss them, and since mine were still working, I thought, why not?  The image was punched with a 1 3/4" circle punch and attached to a SU shaker frame.  Some In Colour sequins were added, and the shaker covered it with a circle of Window sheet die cut using the circles framelits.  The Melon Mambo scallop circle frame was made using a circle punch and a scallop circle punch.

This shaker frame was added to a Perfectly Plum banner die cut using the Banner Framelit. This was added to a strip of  Park Lane DSP which was matted with Whisper White card stock.  The sentiment "Happy Birthday", from Teeny Tiny wishes, was stamped directly onto the DSP using basic black ink

The base card is Melon Mambo, layered with Whisper White card stock, and then a Perfectly Plum layer embossed with the Decorative dots folder.

I used the Bigz Alphabet die to make the number Melon Mambo "6"

The banner art piece was added to the DSP.  Then it was  embellishments time- embellishments hopefully she would  love - gltter on both sides of the DSP, glitter on the number 6, some glitter dots around the shaker unit, and then 2 butterflies (with bling in the middle) at the bottom of the banner.

Dinoroar Birthday - Challenge 185 LNS

The challenge this week - challenge 185- is to use an animal on a card or project.  I don't have too many animal cards, so I chose to use a dinosaur.

The images were first stamped with Black Stazon and then coloured with coloured pencils and mineral spirits.  They were then cut out and Crystal Effects applied to certain parts of each of the dinosaurs.
After the background was sponged to give the impression of prehistoric scenery each dinosaur was attached using dimensionals.
