Some dazzling details was added to the body for texture and added interest. After the dazzling details was day, the butterfly was cut out and adhered to a Silver Glimmer paper that had been sprayed with a green reinker diluted in some water. The basic card stock is Midnight Muse.

Double winged Side View of Swallowtail - Just for you
I've seen cards on Pinterest of a sideview double winged Swallowtail and I just had to make one. It took me a while to figure out how to do it, but I did it. Here is the result:
Here is how I did it.
I stamped the full image of the Swallowtail twice using black Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock and coloured both images using blendabilities. Then I cut each butterfly in half, and glued the wings together only near the body. I ended up with two 3D butterflies each facing a different direction. I placed the butterfly on the card so that it was hovering over a flower.
The background was made by first embossing a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the tulip edge embossing folder, and then sponging the surface using Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive ink. The edge was sponged with Soft suede ink.
The flower was made using the following punches: pansy punch, 1/2" scallop circle punch and 3/4" circle punch.
Stamps: Swallowtail, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Black Memento, blendabilities, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Soft Suede
Papers: Soft Suede, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Tulip framed embossing folder, dazzling details, Pansy punch, 1/2" scallop circle punch, 3/4" circle punch, rhinestone

Swallowtail Anniversary- Out of the box with Framelits
I've been busy the last few days getting ready for a craft show on Sunday. It's a big weekend, as it's Canada's birthday so there should be lots of tourists around - well, hopefully anyway.
This is one of the cards I made for the occasion. It features the Swallowtail stamp partially extended outside the framelit. I used the tutorial from Splitcoaststampers here
Part of the image was stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Memento ink. I then used an oval framelit and laid it over the image to determine where I would like to die cut it. Then, following the tutorial, I cut out the image of the butterfly that would extend outside the oval die cut, and then die cut the oval. The oval was matted first with a Coastal Cabana oval, and then an oval die cut using Silver glimmer paper.
I coloured the image of the Swallowtail using Coastal Cabana blendabilities.
Stamps: Swallowtail, A Word for You (retired)
Inks: Black memento, Coastal Cabana blendabilities, Coastal Cabana ink
Papers: Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
Accessories: Just Saying' framelits, Oval framelits, Modern Mosaic folder, dimensionals

Blue Swallowtail - Challenge 209 LNS Feeling Blue
Actually, I have been feeling blue lately. A lot of negative energy has been directly my way, and without going into details I have been feeling "down". I feel a bit like the Swallowtail card that I made for the LNS challenge this week - only half a wing works.
Here is the card:
The swallowtail was stamped with Versa mark and embossed with black embossing powder. It was then colored with various shades of blue markers- Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, Bashful Blue and Pacific Point. After it was colored, I cut the Swallowtail out, and mounted only half of it onto the Bashful Blue cardstock embossed with the Honeycomb folder - so only the left wing one is free.
Stamps: Swallowtail, Sweetly Said
Inks: Versa Mark, Various blue SU markers, Pacific Point
Papers: Pacific Point, Bashful blue, Whisper White
Accessories: Black embossing powder, Word window punch, Modern word Label Punch, 1/4" Pacific Point stitched ribbon, Honeycomb folder
