It's a Girl - a Pop and Twist Baby card

I'm on a Pop and twist kick!  This is my second card today using this unique fold mechanism.  I ended up using 4 different stamp sets to complete this card.

The base card is Blushing Bride, layered with Blushing Bride DSP.  The Whisper White art piece has the edges stressed with the Timeless Texture stamp set, with the texturing continuing in the rest of the piece around the image.

The bear, from " Baby Bear" was stamped first with Pink Pirouette and then with Blushing Bride.  The bow was first white embossed on Pink Pirouette card stock, fussy cut out, and adhered to the baby bear with a glue dot.

The sentiments are stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink as the Blushing Bride ink was too pale.

Each panel has 2 layers:  Blushing Bride DSP, and a Whisper White layer.  The die cut images were first stamped using the "Something for Baby" stamp set, and then die cut using the coordinated framelits.

This is a close up of the panels.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Something for Baby, Baby Bear, BYOP, Baby Prints, Timeless Texture
Inks: Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Black Memento, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, Versa Mark
Papers: Blushing Bride, Blushing Bride DSP, Whisper White
Accessories:Something for Baby thinlets, Baker's twine, clear embossing powder, velcro, white embossing powder

Dresser Card (boy)

This is the basically the same card as the one I did for the baby girl.  The colour is Marina Mist, with the sponging done using Marina Mist ink.  All the dimensions are the same, but some of the embellishments are different.  This time I stamped the sentiment on every dresser drawer, and the dresser handles are small designer white buttons.

Here are both dressers together.

Baby Dresser Card (girl)

This week and next I hope to make some baby cards.  Last week I ended up making only 1, but made up for it today by making 2.  Although to be fair, they were both the  same card, only different colours.
I'd been wanting to make the baby dresser card for some time, and finally find a bit of a tutorial on one of Cindee Wilkinson's earlier blogs

Note:  sponging is very important to emphasize the features of this card.  Sponging was done with Blushing Bride.

  • Start with pink pirouette cardstock 4 by 11, folded at 5 1/2 to form a top folding card
  • The decorative label punch was used to create the feet of the dresser.
  • Cut three pieces of cardstock for the drawers - 3 3/4 by 1"
  • Cut one piece of cardstock for the top - 4 1/4 by 1/2"
  • For the drawer handles, die cut 2 flowers per drawer for a total of 6 flowers.  After the flowers are applied to the drawers a pearl is put in the center
  • The top drawer is attached using dimensionals giving it the appearance of it being partially opened.
  • The dresser topper is attached using dimensionals.
  • Embellishments are made using the "Sweet lil things" DSP - the onesies on a hanger, bib, booties, duckie, and a diaper pin upon which the sentiment is stamped- all made using the coordinating framelits to the Something for Baby stamp set.
Supplies Used:
Stamp: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:Black Memento, Blushing Bride
Papers: Pink Pirouette, Sweet Lil Thing" DSP, white Baker's twine, Something for baby coordinating framelits, pearls, Decorative Label punch, glue dots, dimensionals.

Welcome Baby

I have sold so many baby cards over the last few weeks that I quickly put together a card for tomorrow's show.
I have used a lot of retired products, but I've used current ones as well.
  • This is a 5 by 5 card
  • The base is Elegant Eggplant, layered with Very Vanilla, and then Sweet Li'l Things DSP
  • Horizontally, in the middle, I adhered a scalloped lacy ribbon from a retired kit.
  • Using the now retired scallop square punch, I punched 4 punchies, one each of the following colours:  Delightful Dijon, Tempting Turquoise, Elegant Eggplant, and Smoky Slate.
  • The letters were die cut with Calypso Coral using the retired die set Bigz Alphabet die set.  Each letter was adhered to one of the scalloped square.
  • The squares were adhered to the card front with dimensionals.
  • To decorate the card a bit, I used the stamp set: "Something for Baby" and its coordinating framelits.
  • The sentiment is from "Petite Pairs"
