Baby Bear - Boy

Yesterday I posted a card featuring Baby Bear as a baby girl card.
Today it the little boy's turn.

  • Colours used for the Baby Boy Bear:  Soft Sky and Pool Party.  A pool party marker was used to highlight the joints and curves, a black marker for the eyes and nose. A pool party bow was attached to the bear in the neck area. A black marker highlighted some of the folds of the bos.
  • The bear was mounted on a piece of Whisper White cardstock which had been stamped with the Timeless Texture stamp set and then this was adhered to the card front.
  • The base card is Pool Party, layered with Whisper White, then Pool Party DSP for the next 2/3.  A banner die cut from Pool Party was embossed with Sparkle embossing folder.  It was adhered half way over the DSP and half way over the Whisper White layer.
  • Once the circle of Flirtatious Flamingo was then placed over the banner  the card front is conmplete.
Supplies:
Stamps: Baby Bear, Timeless Texture
Inks: Soft Sky, Pool Party (ink and marker), black marker, Flirtatious Flamingo
Papers: Pool Party, Whisper White, Pool Party DSP, Flirtatious Flamingo
Accessories: Layering Circles Framelits, Sparkle Embossing Folder, dimensionals

Dresser Card (boy)

This is the basically the same card as the one I did for the baby girl.  The colour is Marina Mist, with the sponging done using Marina Mist ink.  All the dimensions are the same, but some of the embellishments are different.  This time I stamped the sentiment on every dresser drawer, and the dresser handles are small designer white buttons.

Here are both dressers together.

Baby Boy card - Technostamper #251

I'm probably doing too much today, but apparently doing crafts if good for me.  Besides, I wanted to do the challenge with Technostamper here and the linky closes at midnight. The color combination for the card is a bit unusual for me  - but I think it works. Rarely do I do this, but I referred to the Color Coach and these were the color combinations suggested.

Stamps:  Baby Boutique, Petite Pairs
Inks: Black Stazon, Island Indigo
Papers: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Marina Mist, Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist DSP
Accessories: 1 1/4' circle punch, Decorative Label punch, Modern Word Window punch, Curly Label punch, Top Note die, Chevron folder, dazzling diamonds, 3/8" Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon, dimensionals, rhinestones

Baby Boy - Footprints - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #60

It feels good to be able to sit at my desk, to create, to make cards.  I've really missed this activity.  I have also missed walking as well, but that activity will come with time now that my knee has been fixed.  It's not that I'm not walking - it's just that its still painful to do so.  I'm actually doing quite well, being the first patient to be discharged from the rehab unit I was on without a walking aid (cane or walker).

This baby boy card is for the sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday here

It's a Boy - SQSC #22

I sold a lot of my cards last week and now find myself in the position of replacing some cards prior to my craft sale next weekend.  Some of the cards I have to replace are baby cards, so for sketch challenge #22 with Stampin Queen's Sketch Challenge here I chose to make a baby card.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

When I first stamped the sentiment the word "boy"  was crooked, and I was about to throw the whole thing out when I had a thought!  Boys are usually a little rambuntious, very active and the fact that the word is crooked is somewhat predictive of the gender.  Am I rationalizing or what?  May be I should have thrown the whole thing out and started from scratch - but I kind of like it the way it is.
