For this week's challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday I used the Picture Perfect stamp set, namely the Hummingbird because the optional theme is Pretty as a picture.
The hummingbird was triple stamped using Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay , Real Red and Black Memento ink.
The rose flowers were also triple stamped using Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo and Rose Red.
The leaves I stamped with Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive and Always Artichoke. The humming bird, the roses and the leaves were also fussy cut.
I cut a Very Vanilla art piece measuring 2 1/2 by 3 1/2", the background of which was stamped lightly with the Timeless Texture stamp set using Pear Pizzazz ink. It was matted with Rich Razzelberry card stock. I first adhered the Roses and leaves, then added the hummingbird using dimensionals. Some Wink of Stella was applied to the bird.
The card base is Rich Razzelberry, layered with Very Vanilla cardstock. On the upper part is one pattern of the Blooms & bliss DSP: the bottom part has the darker pattern of the same paper.
The art piece was adhered to the card front using dimensionals.
I placed a 2" piece of Winter Wonderland Vellum at an angle across the lower part and art piece of the card. Instead of using a sentiment, I die cut the letter "M" using Mint Macaron glimmer paper and adhered it to a 1 1/4" very Vanilla circle. This was matted with a Rich Razzelberry circle with dimensionals and then adhered to the vellum.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Picture Perfect, Timeless Texture
Inks: Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Real red, Black Memento, Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Always Artichoke
Papers: Rich Razzelberry, Very Vanilla, Blooms & Bliss DSP, Winter Wonderland Vellum, Mint Macaron glimmer paper
Accessories: 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Timeless Type alpha junior dies, Wink of Stella, tiny pear, dimensionals
Now its your turn to create something. When done, upload it to the Try Stampin' on Tuesday blog or the Facebook site. Remember that you have 2 weeks to complete your project.

You are the Nicest - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #275

Picture Perfect meets By the Tide
I just loved this card when I saw it on Pinterest, and I unabashedly cased it. It was originally made by a demonstrator in Germany, Carmen Morris at "Caringforstamps.blogspot.nl"
Stamps: Picture Perfect, By the Tide, Gorgeous Grunge
Inks: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake,
Papers: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Baker's twine, dimensionals, Burlap ribbon
- The base card is Soft Suede, layered with crumb cake.
- The images are stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock, using only 2 colours of ink: Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. A piece of Burlap ribbon was adhered randomly near the bottom right. Gorgeous grunge was used to mimic the air bubbles from the fish.
- The top was torn, sponged, and Baker's twine was wrapped around it.
- The star fish, from Picture Perfect, was stamped on a separate piece of paper and stamped first with crumb cake and then with Soft Suede. It was cut out, the edges sponged, and mounted onto the card front using dimensionals over the burlap ribbon.
- All edges were sponged with Soft Suede ink, and on the image piece part of the middle was sponged as well.

Perfect Picture Thanks - TGIF #42 & Pal Paper Arts #287
Finally the cold snap we've been experiencing in southern Ontario has lifted, but the milder weather has heralded the onset of snowy weather for the next few days. Anything is better than -42 C with the wind chill factored in.
When I saw the colour challenge with Pals Paper Arts I immediately thought of the hummingbird in Picture Perfect, and I combined the colour challenege with the sketch challenge with TGIF challenges.
When I saw the colour challenge with Pals Paper Arts I immediately thought of the hummingbird in Picture Perfect, and I combined the colour challenege with the sketch challenge with TGIF challenges.

On a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock the hummingbird was stamped using all 3 colours. The first colour was Old Olive stamped off once; the second colour was calypso coral at the neck area only, and finally Lost Lagoon on the body. This image was cut out and the edges sponged with Lost Lagoon ink. A small black marker was used to highlight the eye.
The flower was stamped with Calypso coral only. The first layer the Calypso coral was stamped off three stimes; the second inking was stamped off twice; and the final stamping was full strength calypso coral. The 2 leaves were stamped with Old Olive - first with the ink stamped off once, and the second time stamped full strength ink. Both the flower and the leaves were cut out. The edges of the flower were sponged with Calypso coral ink; the leaves with Old Olive.
The base cardstock is Old Olive, layered with Whisper White sponged with Old Olive ink. On top of this were two pieces of Pretty Petals DSP, whose edges were also sponged.
The hummingbird, flower and leaves were adhered to a 3 1/2 by 2 5/8" of Whisper White cardstock. The flower and leaves were adhered directly to the cardstock; the hummingbird with dimensionals.
A botanical bloom was die cut in Lost Lagoon cardstock using the botanical builder die The center was die cut in Calypso coral; the leaves in Old Olive. All edges were sponged in their corresponding colours and the flower assembled. The completed flower was adhered to the left side of the image piece.
The fine tips of the following markers (Lost Lagoon, Calypso Coral, Old Olive) were used to make dots on the background, concentrating the dots more around the images.
The image panel was matted with Calypso Coral cardstock and mounted to the card front using dimensionals.
Some dazzling details was applied to the flower and bird.
The sentiment is from "Another Thank You" and was stamped in Black Memento ink
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Picture Perfect, Another Thank You
Inks: Black Memento, Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon (Markers in the latter 3 colours as well)
Papers: Old Olive, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Petals DSP
Accessories: Botanical Builder dies, Dazzling Details, dimensionals.

Picture Perfect New Year - SUO Challenges #138
This isn't your typical New Year card, with stars bursting in air, champagne bubbles in hand, and fancy dresses.
This is my New Year -representing change and new life - like New Year's Resolutions.
Although it is snowing and freezing rain outside, look at the card and the New Year looks much more pleasant. The flowers are wishing you a Happy New Year.
The challenge with SUO was to make a project with a New Year's theme.
Here is mine. The stamp set will not be available until Jan. 5, 2016

- On a separate piece of paper, the hummingbird was stamped 3 times: Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate and Melon Mambo. A black marker was used to emphasize the eye, and a fine marking pen was used to emphasize the tail and wing feathers. The bird was cut out by hand and the edges sponged with Bermuda Bay ink. Some Clear Wink of Stella was brushed on parts of the bird to give it a shimmer effect.
- On another piece of Whisper White, three roses were stamped with 3 colors: Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, and Rose Red. The leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow. All were cut out by hand. The edges of the roses were sponged with Rose Red ink, and the leaves with Mossy Meadow ink.
- In the meantime, stars were stenciled using So Saffron ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, This would provide the backdrop for the flowers and bird.
- Once the roses and leaves were adhered to the front of the card, a strip of 1/8" glitter Bermuda Bay ribbon was added to the lower part, and a bow placed at the left end. Extra leaves are seen falling down the right side and bottom of the card.
- The sentiment, from "Good Greetings" (retired) was cut into 3 words, and each word was placed in the middle of a flower. Glitter was placed on top of the words.
- The Hummingbird was added using dimensionals - with the beak pointing towards the rose and the sentiment.
- To finish the card, I place gold sequins randomly on the background.
