3D Ornament - Hand Stamped Sentiment #273

The ornament I made by altering a mini Pizza Box was inspired by Monica Gales here.  I use the Hearts Come Home bundle. After making a couple of these ornaments, I decided to make this part of my "Ornaments and Tags" class this past week.  The students were absolutely delighted!!

I also decided to submit these ornaments for the Inspiration Challenge at  Hand Stamped Sentiments

A brayer was used to apply Pool Party ink to the entire front of the "matte" side of the unformed Pizza box.

Then using the largest of the Layering Square Framelits, an aperture was die cut in the lid.  The scallop square die cut (the art piece) was used to build the village on.

Before building the village, snowflakes were white embossed on the sky followed by application of Marina Mist ink with a brayer.  A paper towel wiped over the snowflakes revealed their presence in the sky

Using thick Whisper White, the silhouette of the village houses was die cut.  The house at the end was "cut off" the end.  It would be placed in the upper part of the art piece.

The houses were coloured with Stempin' Blendabilities and then covered with Dazzling Diamonds.  Love all that glitter.

Before mounting the houses, some Daffodil Delight was placed behind them to give an illusion that someone was home. I used the new adhesive sheets to adhere the Daffodil Delight to the back of the houses.

Using dimensionals - and in some instances - double dimensionals, the houses were added onto the art piece.  The art piece was then adhered to the inside of the box using dimensionals.  After the art piece was firmly in place, the pizza box was now formed. I filled in the bottom of the box with texture paste covered generously with Dazzling Diamonds.  This gave the illusion of snow.

Double sided tape helped to adhere Powder Pink ribbon around the outside of the box.  Using a hot glue gun a pine sprig was added, followed by a mini ornament.  A bow, make with the same ribbon, was adhered behind the sprig followed by a silver tag twine. Some texture paste was also added to the pine sprig.

Hearts Come Home Pizza Box Christmas Ornament - a case

When I saw this on Pinterest I thought "What a neat idea".  This ornament, was made by Monica Gale here using a Mini Pizza Box.

Although I used a lot of her ideas I did change up a few things.

I started  by sponging the open pizza box lid in Pool Party, and then die cut an aperture in it using the scallop square of the Layering Square framelits.

The die cut images were built on the scallop cut out.

After the houses were die cut, I coloured them with the new blendabilities and applied dazzling diamonds to the roofs and bases of the houses. To make the houses look like the lights were on, I placed some gold foil behind each house.

The house at the end was cut off from the strip and added in the middle and above the other houses. All were added using dimensionals.

The art piece was then added to the inside of the box using dimensionals, and the box was closed.

To fill in the space at the front of the box I added some embossing paste and added dazzling diamonds on top of that.

To finish off the ornament, I wrapped the box with  1/2" Powder Pink ribbon and tied it in a bow at  the top.  I added a green pine sprig and a mini ornament tied with silver trim.  I also added some embossing paste to the pine branch.

Snow Man Ornament

I'm having a lot of fun with the Seasonal Chums stamp set with the coordinating Seasonal Tags Framelit dies. They make lovely gift tags, but can also be used to make ornaments, as well as cards.

Today I used the Snow man "Chum" to make a couple of  Ornaments. All die cuts in this ornament were made using the Seasonal Tags framelit dies.

I  stamped, coloured, and die cut only the front half of the snow man and tucked him in some curved layers of Dazzling Diamond glimmer paper the bottom edge of which was die cut to fit the Night of Navy base.

The 3 Garden Green trees were added in layers  along side the snow man and 2 snowflakes were placed in the sky.

Some white glitter beads were added to the ornament before it was sealed onto the Dazzling Diamond scallop circle base.

Gingerbread House in an Ornament

Yes, it does seem like I am on an ornament kick, but I am doing 4 craft shows in the immediate future so need to get prepared.
The idea to do this I got from Pinterest, and I just love it.  Actually, in the video I saw the author was making a house out of a stamp set, and I thought walla I have all these ginger bread houses already made up why not use those.

I added some buffalo snow in with the house.

I made the house using Home Sweet Home Thinlet dies.  The house is made from Crumb Cake cardstock, the trim is Soft Suede, the candies are Real Red, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White 1/2" circles and the trim is stamped in Real Red.  The roof is die cut in Soft Suede, and after it was attached, I added some coarse glitter.

Baby's First Christmas Ornament

I had these little boy baby shoes sitting in a box for ages, and on impulse put them in an ornament with little plastic bottles that make a rattling sound.
They are as cute as a button.
The only thing is -I don't have time to make similar shoes for a little girl.  Well, next show.
Please excuse the glare.  It is a very dull day here and I've had to use the flash on my camera.

To make the shoes, I used a template I found on line, and was most surprised when they fit into the ornament so well

November Paper Pumpkin - Another project

I was absolutely thrilled to see what was in this Month's Paper Pumpkin.  No, it was not the blue box - although I did like that.  No, it was not the stamp set - although I did like the stamps; nor was it the two stampin' spots that were included.
What was it?
It was the actual design for the cards!!This month's cards kit featured Lazar cut images of the sleigh ride framelits that were so popular last last year.
Okay, you have to understand what I have been doing the last couple of weeks--making ornaments.  One of the dies I was using was the retired Sleigh ride Framelits as wonderful ornaments can be created.
Ah Ah I said!  I can use these to make ornaments, and I don't have to do any die cutting.  So, that's my alternative  project for this month's Paper Pumpkin kit.  I'm not sure I will make 8 ornaments, but I just might as I have 5 more craft shows coming up.

A front view of the Ornament Half shows the sleigh ride die cuts built up with dimensionals against a Night of Navy emboss resist sky.
Dazzling diamonds was added to the lower level to provide some glitter.
In the sky I also adhered some silver sequins.
The half globe was adhered to a large silver glimmer scallop circle the I die cut using the retired Circle framelits.  Some lace trim was adhered around the edge
On the top are 3 ribbons:  a 5/8" white satin, a 3/8" Pool Party glitter; and a 3/8" silver glitter.  In the center are 3 large bells.

Creating the Background:  
On a 3 3/8" whisper white circle, emboss resist some snowflakes from the "Snow Place" stamp set. Don't forget to use the embossing buddy first.
The snowflakes were stamped with Versa Mark, white embossing powder was added, and the snowflakes heat set with a heating tool.
Night of Navy ink was brayered over these snowflakes, covering the entire surface. The snowflakes really popped when a paper towel was wiped over the surface removing the ink over the snowflakes.

Detailed Santa Ornament

I seem to be on an ornament kick.  Today I made another one featuring the Detailed Santa Ornament.  It took some trial and error, but I think I finally got it.

Because card stock is fairly thick and when rolled up does not want to unroll, I first die cut the detailed Santa image with photo copy paper (and that wasn't easy either), then die cut a section of it using a 3 3/8" circle framelit (retired circles framelits). This was adhered to a window sheet also die cut with the 3 3/8" circle framelit.
When dry, this unit was curled into a tight tube and inserted into a large ornament. Once inside, the window sheet/die cut image unfurled.
Before putting the top back on the ornament, I added some dazzling details inside the  ornament, then glued a real red ribbon at the top.

Snowplace Christmas Ornament

Today was ornament making day, and I made several different kinds but the ornament I like the best was the one I made using the Snow Place Stamp set and half of a plastic ornament.

After stamping and die cutting the small snow man and the penguin, I die cut the following using the retired circle framelits:
.one scallop circle
.2 of the largest circle framelits in Whisper White
.2 of the same size in Dazzling Diamond glimmer paper
Other supplies needed:  blue sequins, mica powder, embossing buddy. 1/2 of a large plastic ornament, some decorative ribbon, tombo glue, hot glue gun.

On one of the Whisper White circles, snowflakes were randomly stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with White embossing powder.  The entire circle was then sponged with Night of Navy ink and then wiped with a paper towel to bring out the white snowflakes.

Then both dazzling diamond glimmer circles were cut in a curvy manner in 3 different layers, each layer being shorter than the other. They were adhered to the embossed Night of Navy background circle.

The Penguin was placed on top of the second layer; the small snowman on the lower layer. Tombo glue was used to adhere all these layers. This art piece circle was adhered to a second Whisper White circle and then to the Scalloped Circle. Clamps were used to keep the layers together until the adhesive dried.

Sequins and snow was piled on top of the images, and a layer of glue was placed around the edges of the circle.  Before attaching the 1/2 ornament to the image circle, it was wiped with the embossing buddy.  This prevents the "snow" from attaching to the inside of the ornament.

After adhering the ornament to the prepared circle, it was allowed to dry, and then some decorative ribbon was adhered to the outside and a bow placed on the top.

Wired Ribbon Angel Ornaments

I'm doing a 3 day craft show next weekend, and I thought these little tree ornaments would be a perfect addition to my craft table.

I came across a series of video tutorials done by Oneveryhappybird on Pinterest and the one she did making these wired ribbon angel ornaments caught my eye.  Its a great project to use up some of the wired ribbon I have stored away.

Some of the bells for the head were silver, and some I embossed with gold embossing powder to match the gold in the ribbon.

The ribbon above was 2 1/4" wide and had a fairly narrow gold edge.  It would be better to have a wider edge, but that was all I had.

It took 14" of this ribbon pleated into 7 folds to make the body.  Keeping the ribbons folded closed, the top gold edge was cut off and stapled together.

The wing was made with a 10" piece of ribbon - again fan folded to make 5 folds.  This piece was folded in half and after unfolding, a staple was placed on the fold line.

A hot glue gun was used to put the angel together.  First the wings were adhered to the body, and then the bell was adhered to the top of the wings.  A tag cord was inserted through the notch in the top of the bell.

An embellishment (metal rimmed rhinestone) was adhered to the area where the wings and body met. 

After the glue dried, the folds of the body and wings were fanned out.

I experimented with using a smaller 1 1/4" wide ribbon  and I was quite happy with the result.  Below are the two angles side by side.  A smaller jingle bell was used for this smaller angel.

Star Ornament

This Christmas ornament is made using the Star Framelits and the stamp set "Bright & Beautiful".  It is very easy to make and the effect is stunning!

There are 8 layers to this ornament, all put together using dimensionals.
The first think I did was emboss using gold embossing powder on Very Vanilla cardstock, 2 each of the star stamps.  These were die cut using the Star Framelits.  In addition, I die cut the largest of the Star Framelits using Gold cardstock.
Then I built 2 halfs of the ornament - a large gold star, a medium one, a smaller one, and the tiny middle one - by adhering them together with dimensionals.  You will end up with 2 halves of the ornament.
Before adhering them together, I adhered some gold stretch cord to the back of one of the halves.  This will be the ornament hanger.
Now I adhered the 2 halves of the ornament together, and walla you have an ornament!  To finish the ornament I put a large pearl in the middle

Come to Bethlehem Ornament - challenge 203 LNS

This is my second ornament for the challenge with the LNS group.  I saw this on Pinterest and just had to case it.  It was originally a combination gift card holder and ornament made and designed by Lisa Young here  but I changed the design a bit and made it an ornament only. On her blog she gives directions on how to make this lovely ornament.

Hot glue/glitter ornament - Challenge 203 LNS

The challenge this week with the LNS stamper group is to make a Christmas ornament.  I must admit I couldn't decide which ornament to make.  I had all these round Christmas ornament glass balls and no ideas.  Then I visited a friend of mine at a local scrapbooking store and she had used hot glue on an ornament and an idea was born.  Thank you Helen.
Here is my ornament - both front and side views.

I took the top off the ornament, and with hot glue gun applied hot glue in circles around the ornament - a bit at a time, and covered the hot glue with dazzling diamonds.  Then applied more hot glue, and more dazzling diamonds until the ornament was covered.  My hands were shaking a bit as I still have some tendonitis so the circles are not perfect.
Then I hot glued a silver glitter snowflake to the front and the back of the ornament, and a ribbon to the top.  Baker's twine was used as the string to hang the ornament on the tree.

Materials used:

• Large glass round Christmas ball
• Hot glue gun
• Dazzling diamonds
• Silver glimmer paper
• Snowflake die
• White taffeta ribbon
• White baker's twine.

Floral Framelits & Snowflake Ornament

Here is an ornament I made using the Floral Framelits and the Snowflake flurries die.  I got the idea from Kirsteen Gill.

Materials:
Floral Framelits
Snow flurries die
Glitter paper - red and silver
Tombo glue
White Baker's Twine

Method:
1.  Die cut 8 of the floral frames framelits in Whisper White card stock.  Use the largest size and the next largest size and cut together to make the outer layer
2.  Die cut 8 of the large snowflakes using the Snow Flurries die and silver and red glitter paper
3.  Fold each in half

Outside Framelit Ball:
Using tombo glue, glue folded halves together to form a ball.  Let dry

Inside Snowflake
Glue half of the snowflakes together and then put some Baker's twine down the middle before gluing the rest together.  Let dry.

Position the snowflake ball inside the framelit ball and you are done.

Christmas Ornament

Like many of you I have wanted to make the Christmas ornament pictured on the front of the Holiday catalogue.
Yesterday I finally did it, but I decided to make only the smaller version of it.
