A Swinging Gnome - cards that move - a CASE

I cased this card from Susan Campfield, but used different DSP.  I just love interactive cards and this one brings a smile to your face.

The card is interactive as the legs swing back and forth like the pendulum of a clock.  I tried making a short video showing the legs moving, but I  couldn't capture the motion well enough.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Kindest Gnome
Ink:  Real Red
Papers:  Real Red, Basic White, Santa Express DSP
Accessories:  Real Red Rhinestones, Gnome dies, Dimensionals, Fabulous Frames dies.

Sliding Barn Door

I don't know why I thought this card would be hard to put together.  In actual fact, it was quite easy!!

Now that I have put this interactive card together once I can see possibilities for branching out.  But here is the card I put together today.

For the background I used the "Hardwood" background stamp with Soft Suede ink on Pool Party card stock.  A barn door needs a barn board background.

The barn door was stamped with Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock  The hardware was die cut with Basic Gray cardstock

The door slides on washers across the front of the card, moving between sentiments stamped with Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Barn Door, Hardwood
Inks:  Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Sweet Sugarplum
Papers:  Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Sliding Door Framelits, washers (non SU), dimensionals, Foam tape, corner rounder punch

A Wobbly Birthday - Try Stampin' on Tuesday or Not, #316

The optional theme for this week's card challenge is "a ray of sunshine".  Fortunately the Cupcakes & Carousel DSP has a perfect design for this challenge.

The Carousel horse was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock, die cut into a circle, and matted with a larger Bermuda Bay circle.  A wobble was adhered to the underside of the art piece before attaching it to the mat. This was attached to the card front.

One of the patterns in the Cupcakes & Carousel paper pack looks like rays of sunshine coming from the upper left corner, which fits perfectly with the theme for this sketch.  This was placed upon a Very Vanilla layer, and then onto a Bermuda Bay base.

The sentiment, stamped with Bermuda Bay ink, was matted with Daffodil Delight card stock and added to the lower right card below the art piece.

In making this card, I played around with a few techniques:

One, I stamped the image twice,  and after fussy cutting it out I placed it on top of the original using dimensionals.  This gives the horse a 3D effect.

Two, I added a wobble before adhering the art piece to it's mat.  Now, when the horse is touched, it starts to wobble, almost spin, making the card interactive (see the picture below).

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Carousel Birthday, Timeless Texture
Inks: Black Memento, Watercolor pencils, Bermuda Bay
Papers: Bermuda Bay, Very Vanilla, Cupcakes & Carousel DSP, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Layering Circles Framelits, Dimensionals, Action Wobble (non SU)

Now it's your turn to make something using this week's sketch.  Remember you have two weeks (Deadline April 24) to make something.  Don't forget to upload it to the Try Stampin' on Tuesday or Not blog site, or their Facebook site. On April 18, Cheryl with input from the designers,  will select 3 of the favourite cards of the week.  While you're doing this take a look at the work of the other designers, and leave them a comment.  We all like feedback.
I look forward to seeing your work.

Snow Place Light Card

I originally saw the Chibi lights used on a card on Pinterest and I was totally mesmerized.  But when I tried to buy them I found they were not available in Canada.  However, I did manage to track some down.
Anything electric intimidates me and creating a circuit to make this light work was very intimidating!!  However, I viewed this as a challenge!  So, I watched a few videos,  read the instructions in the kit, swallowed my fear and went to work.
This is what I came up with:

This is the card that was built up around the light.  If you look closely you can see a clear star at the top of the 3rd tree.  The light is behind the tree.
For the next card I will take a picture of the circuit I created using the contents of the Chibi lights kit, but I was so excited that the circuit actually worked that the thought never crossed my mind.  So stay tuned.

I turned the lights out so the Chibi light could be seen better.  The battery needs to be pressed to make the lights come on, so I put a sticker over that spot.  You can see my finger in the picture where the pressure needs to be placed.  Isn't that cool?

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Snow Place, Peaceful Pines, Greeting from Santa

Papers: Chibi Lights (non SU),  Dazzling Diamond glimmer paper, Whisper White,
Accessories: Dazzling diamonds, Liquid Applique (non SU), Dazzling diamonds, Snow Friends Framelits, Perfect Pines Framelits, Brayer, Dimensionals, clear star shaped sticker.
