Sweet Sorbet Kindred Spirits - Ombre ink pads

This card is a partial case from a cart in the annual catalogue on Page 151.
This time I use the Calypso Coral ombre stamp set, with a card base of Dapper Denim.

The image was stamped randomly using the Calypso Coral ombre ink pad.  A piece of thick Calypso Coral Baker's twine was attached to both ends behind the image panel, and a bow adhered to it.

The sentiment is from "First Sight" and was embossed with White embossing powder onto Dapper Denim card stock.  This was die cut using the layering squares framelits, with the square placed at an angle.  It was adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

Textured Rose Card - a partial case

This card is made using Homemade texture past and the Roses framelit (the small rose).  This was given to me by Frenchie, who got it from Debbie Henderson.
I'll put the recipe at the bottom of the post.

• Using the hand made texture past, it was applied to the top of the Rose Wonder framelit which had been positioned on a piece of heavy Whisper White cardstock.  The framelit was lifted off and washed under running water, and the paste on the cardstock allowed to dry (several hours).
• After it was dry, the rose was coloured with Rose Red ink using a sponge dauber.  The leaves were stamped using the coordinating stamp set, with Pear Pizzazz ink.  The leaves were filled in using a sponge dauber and the same coloured ink.
• On the background, using Sahara Sand ink, I stamped the image from the "First Sight" stamp set.  I stamped off first to make the images as light as possible.
• For the sentiment, I first stamped the image that would be die cut, and then stamped the sentiment in the middle.  It was then die cut using the coordinating framelit, and mounted on the card using dimensionals.  Three rhinestones were added below the sentiment.

Recipe for Handmade Texture Paste: 

• 1/4 cup corn starch (any brand)
• 1 tablespoon white school glue like Alymers
• 1 tablespoon white acrylic paint
• 1 tablespoon water

Add all ingredients together except the water, and then add the water a bit at a time until you get the paste at a consistency the it drips slightly from the spoon.
Place the rest in an air tight container, and you will be able to use it again.

Note:  When adhering the heavy cardstock to the matting layer, using a lot of adhesive, making sure the adhesive goes to the edges of the back of the cardstock.

Happy Home - Thanks

I was so happy to see the Hearth and Home window framelits return in the new Occasions catalogue - with a coordinating stamp with scenes for behind the window.  Ready for another sneak preview for the new Occasions catalogue?

• Behind the die cut window is a spring scene with pink blossoms on the trees.  Actually its been such a mild winter that the cherry blossoms were blooming in Washington (Dec. 15/15) After placing it behind the die cut window, it was adhered to the card front with dimensionals.
• The floral image on the sill is from "First Sight" - the flowers from "Happy Home".  Both were hand cut after being stamped.  Rhinestones were plaed in the center of each flower, then I applied some gold Wink of Stella glitter pen.  The blue bird, stamped with Pacific Point, is from "First Sight" and was also hand cut and placed on top of one of the flowers with a glue dot. The sill was also adhered to the frame with dimensionals.
• The card base is Pink Pirouette, layered with Whisper White, and then Birthday Bouquet DSP.
• A 1/4" Pink Pirouette ribbon was wrapped around the card and tied into a knot.
• Tip:  with a craft knife and the card in the open position, make a small slit in the seam.  Make sure there is a hard surface under the card.

Cut the end of the ribbon to be inserted into a sharp angle and insert in this slot.

Wrap the ribbon around the card on the inside, bringing it forward to the front and tie it into a bow or a knot.
