French Foliage Sympathy - Try Stampin' on Tuesday # 80

Even though the temperatures have begun to soar again, we have had a taste of the fall to come.  Already some of the leaves on the trees are turning (that could be the drought we had) various hues of browns and reds.  So today, for the challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday here    I thought I would make a fall card - with sympathy that the summer is almost over.

Technique:
Base is Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The next layer is Very Vanilla which is embossed with the Framed Tulip folder and the edges sponged first with Crumb Cake ink, and then Early Espresso.  The swirly stamp from Elements of Style was stamped at an angle onto the middle of this layer, using Crumb Cake ink.
Image Panel This was collage stamped using the stamp set French Foliage and the 3 colors of inks mentioned below.  A double butterfly (Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler) was attached at the upper left corner.  Pearls were placed on the body and extended over onto the panel.
Embellishments: Itty Bitty buttons, under which were placed a tiny circle of Cherry Cobbler card stock punch with the Itty Bitty punch (circle).  Pearls were attached to the top of each button.

Stamps:  Elements of Style, French Foliage, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
Papers:  Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Framed Tulips folder, Butterfly punch, Word window punch, Itty Bitty circle punch, 1/2" cherry cobbler scalloped dotted ribbon, Itty bitty buttons, pearls, dimensionals

Serene Silhouettes Birthday - Stamping 411 #266

What a beautiful day in Southern Ontario.  The humidity seems to have broken and it was a perfect day for a long walk in the park.  Thank goodness there have been no more bats to chase and catch!!

This card for Stamping 411 here features the Serene Silhouettes stamp set.  The sketch is a bit of an unusual design, but I enjoyed making the card.

The focal image was stamped with Versa mark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.  The edges of the square were then pierced with the mat pack and paper piercer.

Stamps:  Serene Silhouettes, Curly Cute
Inks: Versa Mark, Island Indigo
Papers: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Gold card stock, Twitterpated designer series paper
Accessories: Gold embossing powder, mat pack & paper piercer, Butterfly punch, pearls, Lacy Brocade embossing folder, Stampin' dimensionals.

Butterfly Birthday Wishes - Stamping 411 #259

I got a delivery yesterday in the middle of a thunderstorm, so just had to try out some of the new products today using the sketch challenge with Stamping 411here

Here is my card:

When I saw the sketch at Stamping 411 I knew immediately I wanted to use the new butterfly punch.  First I punched out a butterfly using the twitterpated designer paper and then using vellum.  The vellum I embossed with the polka dot embossing folder afterwhich I sponged the edges with Baja Breeze ink.
The vellum butterfly was attached to the top of the designer paper one and pearls attached to the center and the top of each wing. Dimensionals were used to attach the butterflies to a 1 1/4" Pretty in Pink circle. The wings were then separated to give the appearance that the butterfies were about to take off.
These circle units were attached to a panel of Whisper White card stock that had been embossed using the Chevron embossing folder.  The panel was backed with Island Indigo card stock.  This unit was attached to a Baja breeze layer embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.
The 1/4" Whisper White stitched grosgrain ribbon was colored with an Island Indigo marker.

Here's the complete recipe:

Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Inks: Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Island Indigo marker
Papers: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Pretty in Pink, Vellum, Twitterpated designer series paper
Accessories: Polka Dot embossing folder, Fancy Fan embossing folder, Chevron embossing folder, Butterfly punch, 1/4" Whisper White stitched grosgrain ribbon, pearls, dimensionals, 1 1/4" circle punch

My Favourite cards from 2011 - Flowers - Card 2

This card, featuring the Sweet Pea flower, was probably one of the most popular flower card and also one of my favourites.  After many requests I even made a video on how to make the Sweet Pea flower using the butterfly punch.  You can see the video here
