Let’s Chill. Try Stampin on Tuesday # 636

I don’t know where the time goes!

The time has just flown by since I retired from Stampin Up on October 6! An email from a follower asking if I was okay awakened me to the fact that it has been a while since I posted in my blog.

So tonight I went to my favourite card challenge site “Try Stampin on Tuesday” and made a card using the current sketch challenge there.

The theme with the sketch was “Bundle up”. Certainly this time of year this is what one needs to do to stay warm . Today the wind was extremely chilly!

It’s been a while since I rummaged through my non Stampin Up stamps and when I did I found the perfect stamp by Penny Black.  Ironically it is called “Let’s Chill”

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the image onto Basic White cardstock. I stamped the sentiment at the same time but on a different piece of Basic White.
Using my Stamp n blends, I coloured the little girl who looked so cold I actually had to go upstairs and put on another sweater.i then applied some adhesive to the fur on the touque, hat, sleeve cuffs and coat trim and then made a mess sprinkling dazzling diamonds on those areas. Because the background looked a bit naked, I took my blender brush which already had ink on it, and applied some light  Night of ink.

The image was trimmed and matted with Night of Navy cardstock.

The sentiment piece was also trimmed and the corners rounded with a corner rounder punch. It too was matted with Night of Navy cardstock.

Both pieces were added to the card front using dimensionals.

To make her look even colder I added shimmer paste at her feet to mimic a snow drift. I also added glitter to that making more of a glorious mess. By this time I was so cold I felt like bundling up. But instead I got into my pjs and climbed into bed to complete this post.

The basic card is Night of Navy, layered with white glimmer paper followed by a piece of Beary Christmas DSP ( snowflake pattern). On the right I added a 1/2” strip of white dazzling paper with a piece of Navy ribbon with gold flecks embedded in it.

To finish the card I added a bow made of Night of Navy Bakers twine, to the left of the sentiment. Three self adhesive snowflakes were randomly added to the front.

Supplies Used:

Stamp: “Let’s Chill” by Penny Black

Inks: Black Memento, Stampin blends ( Real Red, Night of Navy, smoky Slate)

Papers: Night of Navy, Basic White, Beary Christmas DSP, white Glimmer Paper

Accessories: Glimmer paste, Night of Navy ribbon with gold, Dimensionals, corner rounder punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Self adhesive snowflakes
