A Vintage Christmas Season Card

Already the days are shorter and before we know it fall will be upon us.  Not that the temperature outside is getting cooler - in fact its still so hot and muggy its not pleasant to be outdoors.

So, I am putting making Christmas cards on hold and pulling out various pieces of the Painted Christmas bundle to make some fall cards.

This first card has a vintage vibe to it----

The card base is Early Espressso, layered with Gold Foil (tip:  die cut the centre out using the rectangle stitched die or an exacto knife to use at another project). The top layer, the art piece, is Very Vanilla card stock that I embossed with the new 3D Merry Melody embossing folder.

To make this art piece look old, I brushed Soft Suede ink very lightly across the surface of the embossed surface using a blender brush . I wanted to highlight just the embossed surface not the flatter surface below it so it was important to have a very light touch.  In addition I used a finger dauber to add Early Espresso ink around the edges. I also added Early Espresso ink on the edges of  the die cut sentiment piece.

In the center of the art piece I added the sentiment (sentiment from  Perfectly Plaid) using dimensionals.  Around the sentiment I added some die cut  Pine cones, leaves and berries.

The bow is made from 3/8" gold ribbon.
To finish the card I added 3 brushed metallic adhesive backed dots.
