Candy Lane Christmas Tags in a Decorated Tin

Everyone loves Gingerbread men and Gingerbread houses , and whenever I put those images on tags or cards they are the first to sell at my craft shows.

One of the DSP in new  catalogue,  which  premiers Aug 2, called the "Candy Lane DSP", has one 12 by 12 sheet covered entirely with Gingerbread houses.  My eyes lit up, my heart started racing!  Then I saw another 12 by 12 page that looked like snow falling, so I got even more excited! Immediately I saw all the possibilities, and the first thing  I thought  of were  Christmas tags!

So, I made 6 Christmas tags and placed them in a tin I decorated.

I like to recycle things as much as possible, and this tin was given to me with a gift card inside. So I decorated it to match the tags.  More later

Above are the 6 tags and the lid of the tin beside it.

I began by cutting out 8 ginger bread houses from the DSP (6 for the tags and 2 for the lid of the tin)

The tag itself has a 2 by 4" Crumb Cake base one end of which was punched with the scallop topper punch.   A 3 1/8 by 1 7/8" of Whisper White card stock, and a 1 5/8 by 3 of another piece of the same DSP were adhered together and attached to the front of the tag base.
A 1/8" strip of red glimmer paper was placed at the top, and the Gingerbread house below.

The sentiment is from the stamp set "Lots of Joy".  The word "Joy" and the flowers on either side were coloured with markers and stamped on a piece of Whisper White matted with Early Espresso.

Liquid Applique was applied to the roof of the  house  and dazzling diamonds to the flowers and doorway arch.

To finish the tag, some Real Red Ribbon were placed through the notch in the top of the tag and tied with gold cording.

Washi tape was first placed around the edges of the tin to cover up the original design, followed by a layer of Crumb Cake and DSP both layers having their corners rounded with the corner rounder punch  A strip of Red Glimmer paper was placed along the left side, as well as a bow made with the bow builder punch.  It was tied together with some Real Red ribbon.

The attached tag was made using only 1/2 of the full tag, some Whisper white and DSP attached, as well as a strip of Red Glimmer paper.  This time I cut out a small ginger bread man from another one of the patterns of this DSP and placed it on a scalloped Early Espresso oval.
