Thank You Notes

Now that Christmas is over, and presents  received, it is time to send Thank You notes to those who gave you those wonderful items you were wishing for.

So, I made a set of 4 Thank You Note cards.

  • I used the Note cards from Stampin' Up and layered the front first with Bermuda Bay cardstock, and then Color Me Irrresistibly DSP.  This DSP was sponged randomly with Bermuda Bay ink and wiped with a paper towel.
  • A 1/8" stitched Bermuda Bay ribbon (new Occasions catalogue) was adhered to the lower half of the front.
  • Above that, using dimensionals, I added the sentiment, from "Another Thank You", stamped in Melon Mambo.
  • On a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, 4 Petite Petal flowers per card were stamped using Daffodil Delight and punched out using the coordinating Petite Petal Punch.  The leaves were punched using the Bird Builder punch using Old Olive cardstock.
  • The flowers and leaves were adhered to the card front as shown in the picture.
  •
  • A bow was placed over the sentiment.
Metal rimmed pearls were added to the center of each flower, and then I added glitter using the new glitter brush in the Occasions catalogue  - available Jan/16

Stamps: Petite Petals, Another Thank You
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo
Papers: Whisper White Note cards, Bermuda Bay, Color Me Irresistibly DSP, Whisper White, Old Olive
Accessories: Petite Petals Punch, Bird Builder Punch, 1/8" stitched Bermuda Bay ribbon, metal rimmed pearls, glue dots, dimensionals.Wink of Stella gimmer brush

A Z-fold card -You Make Me Happy - SUO challenge #122 & Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge #251

I've always wanted to make a Z-fold card, and I love my flowers, so combining the two just seemed a natural thing to do.  I also combined 2 challenges - SUO #122 - Fun Flowers and Pals Paper Arts #251 which is a colour challenge.  So I made the fun flowers on my card in the following colours:  Daffodil Delight, Melon mambo, and Tempting Turquoise.
To make the Z-fold card, I used a tutorial found on the Too Cool Stamping blog

The base of the card is Daffodil Delight, layered with Whisper White.

Two stamp sets were used to make the flowers in the 3 colours mentioned.

The larger flowers are from"Flower Shop". They were stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with their respective colours. The flowers were punched using the coordinating Pansy Punch.  With the 1/2" circle punch, cardstock colours to match the flowers were punched, embossed with the Decorative dots embossing folder and adhered to the flower centers using a dimensional.

The smaller flowers are from "Petite Petals" and they were stamped using the 3 challenge colours, and punched using the coordinating Petite Petals punch.  Some were used as centers for the larger flowers and all of them had rhinestones in their centers.

The flowers were attached to the Z-fold card as shown in the picture.

The sentiment is from "Crazy About You".

Supplies Used:
Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

I also used Melon Mambo embossing powder and the heat tool.

I missed the deadline for the PPA linky, but I'm posting anyway.

The flowers are from the Petite Petals stamp set, stamped in different colours and punched out using the coordinating Petite Petals punch.  Two leaflets were die cut using the sizzlet leaflet die and the flowers were mounted on that - some directly on it and some using dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the You're Lovely (SAB) stamp set, punched with the small oval punch and layered with a triangular Petite Penants builder punch.

Baby We've Grown - Try Stampin' on Tuesday 156

What a beautiful weekend we've had.  The sun is getting stronger and the mounds of snow are starting to melt.  The wind is still cold, however, and it sounds like the week ahead is going to be really cold.

The card today is for the challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday here

Because it's a baby card I used soft colours - Crisp Cantalope, Pistachio Pudding and Pool Party.
The image was stamped on Whisper Whit e and then die cut using the Circles Framelits.  It was coloured with SU markers and a blender pen.
The flowers were stamped and then punched using the Petite Flowers coordinating punch.

Stamps: Baby We've Grown, Petite Flowers
Inks: Black Stazon, Crisp Cantalope, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, SU markers
Papers: Crisp Cantalope, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP
Accessories: Circles Framelits, Decorative Dots embossing folder, Petite Petals punch, rhinestones, dimensionals.

Life Doesn't Have to be Perfect - Sketch Frenzy Friday

Are you tired of winter yet?  Are you waiting for spring to arrive?  Yes to both questions.  Spring is about 5 weeks away, but that 5 weeks seems like 5 years!  So to speed things along a little bit the card I made for the SFF challenge here is very spring like.  I just love the soft new colors!

The base card is Crisp Cantalope layered with first Whisper White, and then Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB).
The banner I made using the banner framelits; the sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.  I then stamped 4 different colors of Petite Petals and punched them out using the coordinating Petite Petals punch.

Stamps: Perfect Pennants, Petite Petals
Inks: Basic Black, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Pool Party
Papers: Crisp Cantalope, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP
Accessories: Banner framelits, Petite Petals punch, Pearls, 3/8" ruffled Crisp Cantalope ribboon
