Leftover to Marvelous

My mother was the guru of making wonderful meals from left overs. I have never been able to emulate her with meals.  I am much better with paper crafting.

Today I thought I would make a wonderful card from 'leftovers' from yesterday's Lily birthday card here

The Lily, lily pads and leaves were left over from yesterday's card  I adhered them to a die cut Whisper White rectangle which was  placed inside another die cut piece that has a rectangular frame embossed in it. Inside that was another embossed frame. All were embossed with the Sweetly Stitched Dies and the embossing mats. 

I coloured the white 3/8" Seam Binding with the Gorgeous Grape Stampin' Blend, and when it was dry, it was made into a bow and added to bottom edge of the lily.

The punched sentiment is added emerging between the leaves of the flowers.

The Gorgeous Grape card base is layered with Whisper White. The framed Highland Heather  layer is added to the card front at an angle, as is the die cut art piece.

Noble Peacock rhinestones finish the card.

Lily pad Birthday -another Eclipse technique- Paper Craft Crew Challenges #366

For this card created for the sketch challenge at Paper Craft Crew Challenges #366 I again used the Reverse Eclipse technique.  I first used it on a card yesterday.  Check my post       
This time I used the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set with its coordinating dies and DSP.

The floral images were white embossed on watercolour paper, covered with a light Highland Heather wash and then coloured along the petal edges with full strength Highland Heather ink and an Aqua painter. Some Daffodil Delight was added to the Lily centers.

Also white embossed was a Lilly Pad and two leaves.  These were coloured with Granny Apple Green with Mossy Meadow used as shading.

All images were die cut with the coordinating dies and set aside while the rest of the card was constructed.

A Blackberry Bliss card base was layered first with the Special Lily DSP (a floral pattern) and then with a more neutral DSP (no floral patterns) which has horizontal variations that remind me of water.

In this more neutral piece of DSP, an aperture was die cut using one of Sweetly Stitched Dies that looks like a window. This DSP is adhered to the Floral DSP which is layered on the card base. 

The  window shaped die  cut was used as a base upon which the art piece was built. Once completed the underside of this die cut is covered with foam adhesive and added to the aperture creating the Eclipse.  Prior to adding this die cut, some Blushing Bride  metallic  thread was wrapped behind it.

Some rhinestones from the Noble Peacock collection sparkle beautifully against the Blackberry Bliss background and finish the card nicely.

The sentiment from "Peaceful Moments", was stamped in Highland Heather ink on Whisper White card stock  and added to the left side of the Lily art piece.

Lily Pad - Get Well

I remember visiting my daughter and going for a walk to a water park where the pond was full of beautiful water lilies, the colours of which I tried to emulate in today's card.

The Lily is white embossed on watercolor paper and then watercoloured using an aqua painter. The initial wash was done with Melon Mambo ink, followed by highlighting areas using a Blackberry Bliss Stampn' Blend.
The leaves and Lily pad were first coloured with Pear Pizzazz followed by a Granny Apple Green Stampin' blend.

All were die cut using the coordinating Lily dies and adhered to the front Whisper White card stock  piece lightly coloured with a Coastal Cabana water colour pencil.

The sentiment, from Timeless Tulips, is stamped in Blackberry Bliss and added below flower.

Lasting Lily Thank You

The SAB stamp set "Lovely Lily" is such a wonderful stamp set, and so versatile. The sentiments of the stamp cater to sympathy or get well, but I think it could be used for birthday, anniversary or even Easter.

The first card I made  is a Thank You card.

The Lily is one of my favourite flowers because it is so simple yet so elegant. For this card I stamped the Lily using Berry Burst ink; the stem and leaves in Mossy Meadow.

The base card is Berry Burst card stock, layered with Whisper White and then a 2 1/4 by 5 1/4" piece of Vellum embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder.

The art piece is a 2 1/2 by 4" piece of Whisper White matted with 2 3/4 by 4 1/4" Berry Burst.

The sentiment is from "Another Thank You".  The word "thanks" was highlighted with a Berry Burst marker to isolate that word only.

Three faceted gems of different sizes placed on the lower left art piece finishes the card.
