Sweet as a Button - The Friday Mashup #20

The challenge - combine a cupcake with buttons.  See blog here
I decided to make a telescoping card - using the tutorial by Julie Davison http://juliedavison.com/Tutorials/1108_TelescopingCard.pdf

After making all the pieces I needed to make the telescoping card, I stamped the image of a cupcake from "Crazy for Cupcakes" onto Whisper white cardstock - twice.  Both images were cut out.  One image was left intact - the other the icing was detached from the cupcake bottom.
The icing was coloured with a Daffodil marker; the cupcake base with Tempting turquoise, highlighted with Pacific Point.  The candle was also coloured Tempting Turqoise - the flame Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight.
Using stampin dimensionals the icing was mounted on top of the intact cupcake.
Now for the buttons.  With the floral itty bitty punch, 5 shapes were punched with Melon Mambo and attached to the underside of similar shaped Bitty buttons.  A rhinestone was attached to the top of the button and the button unit was attached to the cupcake icing with a glue dot.  Itty bitty bits flower stamp was stamped with melon Mambo ink around the periphery.  Some dazzling elements was applied to the center of this tiny flower.

Here is a side view of the cupcake with the button units on the icing

The telescoping card is open displaying the back side.  The top circle is a 2 3/8" Scallop circle - in Melon Mambo card stock.  A piece of 3/8" Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon folded in half is attached at the top with a brad.

The middle circle is Flirtatious designer paper - 3 1/2".  The tempting Turqoise flower covers the back side of a brad.

The bottom and largest circle is a Scallop circle  in Melon Mambo. Each scallop was pierced with a paper piercer and mat pack.  A 3 1/2" Whisper White circle is mounted on this scallop circle.

The Itty Bitty Bits floral stamp was stamped with Melon Mambo ink around the periphery of this circle, and the cupcake mounted in the middle.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

This is the other side of the telescoping card. The 1 3/4" whisper white circle has a balloon on it.  Dazzling diamonds covers the balloon.  This top scallop circle is attached to the middle circle which is the Flirtatious Designer paper with a white doily glued to the middle - with a silver brad

Now you see the other side of the large scallop circle.  The 2 3/8" Whisper White cardstock has the birthday sentiment stamped on it, as well as an Itty Bitty Bits cupcake stamp stamped around the periphery.

This is the front (other side) of the telescoping card as it is closed up.

Decorated Kraft Box with Gerbera Daisy - Create with Connie & Mary #163

This week the challenge at Create with Connie & Mary is a colour one:  Tangerine Tango, So Saffron and Pacific Point.  More on their blog here

I had to do a lot of thinking about this colour combination.  For some reason my creative mind was not sending out any ideas.
Suddenly, this morning it hit me!  Decorate a Kraft box and put a 3D Gerbera Daisy on top!

I made the Gerbera Daisy first, with the colours of the challenge - using a tutorial created by Shelly Bohan here and the Daisy Die #2.
After assembling the Kraft box, I covered the top and sides with Beyond the Garden designer paper (focusing on the sheet that was predominately Pacific Point and white).
A scallop circle in Whisper White was cut using the Scallop Circle die.  The scallops were inked with Tangerine Tango ink.
The completed Gerbera Daisy was mounted on the top of the box using dimensionals.
The gift tag is from Beautiful Season.  It is attached to the box with white baker's twine.
The Pumpkin Pie 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon (retired) was cut in half and frayed - then it was wrapped around the box. A bow was made with the other half and mounted on the front of the box.

Snow Much Fun Center Step Fold Card - a CASE for Challenge 134

Challenge 134 with the LNS Yahoo group:  The CASE of the Late Night Stamper.  I cased a Center Step Fold card made by Glenda Calkins at The Stamp Camp.

I did, however, change the colour of the card stock, and used the new Christmas designer paper and red glitter paper.

Here's Glenda's Center Step Fold card:

Here's my card.  It's a little bigger |(5 1/2  y 5 1/2")

I used the video tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers here to make the Center Step Fold card.
The card stock was changed to Real Red, and I used the Holly Berry Bouquet designer paper from the upcoming Holiday mini.  The red and white polka dot paper has red glitter dots - it`s really gorgeous.
The snowman image was stamped using Black Stazon ink onto a 3`` circle ( 3`Circle die) and coloured with watercolor crayons and an Aqua painter.  To unify the glitter from the designer paper, the Scallop circle behind the image was cut using the Scallop circle die using red glitter paper.

The image of the bird balancing on the snowball became a Cardinal and was colored red and black. This image was punched with a 1 3/8`` circle punch and backed with a 1 3/4`` circle punch - again in red glitter paper.

The same sentiment stamps were used.  The metallic brads beside the ``Merry Christmas`` wish were embossed with Iridescent ice embossing powder.

Stamps: Snow Much Fun, Teeny Tiny wishes
Inks: Black Stazon, Basic black, Watercolor crayons, Versa Mark
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Red Glitter, Holly Berry Bouquet designer paper
Accessories: Scoring device, 3`circle die, Scallop circle die /2, 1 3/8`` circle punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, Word Window punch, Modern Label Punch, Metallic brads, Iridescent embossing powder, Aqua painter, stampin dimensionals
