World of Dreams Sympathy - Try Stampin' On Tuesday #258

I realize that the sketch challenge with Try Stampin on Tuesday has a theme attached to it "Love is in the Air", but I chose not to use it as I am in need of Sympathy cards.

To make my card, I turned the image on its side.

The background in this card was made using alcohol inks on shiny cardstock.  The image was stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with black embossing powder.

 

• The card base is Island Indigo cardstock, layered with ink sponged Whisper White cardstock.
• The image panel was made by painting with alcohol inks on glossy cardstock.  The image was embossed on it with black embossing powder, and then it was matted with Island Indigo cardstock.

• Underneath that is a layer of Artisic Design DSP (SAB retired) which was embossed with the Boho embossing folder.
• Along the side, 5 banners were die cut, the edges sponged and then were adhered to the right side underneath the embossed DSP.
• The image panel was then adhered to the embossed DSP
• Below, a Basic Black piece of rick rac cardstock, die cut using  Tasteful Trim, a retired die.  A small flower, made with the Petite Petal punch was added to the left side.

World of Dreams - a CASE

I belong to a yahoo group called ORSA (Ontario Rubber Stamping Artists), and every month I try to participate in their 3 card swap.  Usually the swap has a theme, but this month anything goes.
Last night I watched a video on Pinterest called "Two Quick Techniques to Add to Your cards"
and I thought how perfect a swap card the one in the video would be.  So, I cased it - almost.  Instead of Crumb Cake, I used Tip Top Taupe, the sentiment was a different one, but everything else was essentially the same.

• The base card is Tip Top Taupe, layered with Very Vanilla.
• It is on this Vanilla layer that the entire card is built.
• I started by inking up a "C" block with Tip Top Taupe ink, stamping off once, and then stamping directly onto the lower right of the card; repeating this for the lower left.
• Then the vine stamp was inked up and stamped first with the leaves down; then with the leaves up (see close ups above)
• A piece of Chevron ribbon was notched at one end and then adhered to the left side of the card, abutting the stamped block, and passing over the top of the vanilla layer and adhered at the back.
• The sentiment was stamped with the same ink, and punched out using the Decorative Label punch.  It was adhered to the card using dimensionals, with the left end overlapping the ribbon.
• Dazzling details was added to all the vine leaves
• Rhinestones were added to the punched sentiment.

Friend to Friend - Blendabilities Background

This is the second card I made from the blendabilities background created in class on Wednesday.  This time I focused more on the neutral colours of the paper, and using the same stamp set as in the first card the image of the grass was stamped, using black stazon ink, directly onto the photopaper.

The image was then die cut using the oval framelits, and adhered directly to the soft suede card base.  The whisper white layer was embossed with the Argyle folder, and was die cut in the upper middle with an oval framelit die using one size smaller. This created a window for the image.
To form a frame around the image, I took the two sizes of oval framelits and die cut the soft suede forming an oval frame.
Some 1/8" chocolate chip taffeta ribbon was adhered to some Very Vanilla seam binding and then attached to the embossed layer below the image.  In the middle of the bow a wood embellishment was adhered, with a small flower glued in the middle.  I coloured a small rhinestone with a dark crumb cake blendability and put it in the center of the flower.

You're Great - Blendabilities Background

This morning I made 2 cards from one of the photopapers upon which a blendabilities background was created.
This is the first one.  In both cards I use the stamp set "World of Dreams".  Below this picture is an image of the blendability photo paper that I used.

After deciding what stamp set I wanted to use, I then identified what area of the photo paper I wanted to stamp on.
The image was stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with black embossing powder.  Then it was die cut using the Deco Labels framelits, which was matted with Basic Black cardstock.  It was then mounted on an Apothecary Framelit Wild Wasabi die cut using dimensionals.  Using the 1/8" hand held punch, holes were punched at both ends of the Wild Wasabi die cut, and Wild Wasabi seam binding inserted through them.  I only used small pieces of the seam binding for each end.  One end of the ribbon was taped to the bottom of the die cut, and the other end to the underside of the background paper.  A bow was added at the left hand side.

For the background I used the Iresistably Yours DSP (SAB) sponged with Wild Wasabi ink. This was matted with Whisper White cardstock and then to a Basic Black basic card.

The sentiment is from "From the Garden" and is stamped with Black Stazon ink.

From the remnants, I punched little flowers using the Itty Bitty flower punch in the Itty Bitty Accents pack.  I curled the petals up a bit, and attached them to the card using glue dots.  A rhinestone was added to the center of each flower.
