Coffee with Friends

 There is nothing like having coffee wih friends, a time to share bad times, good times , to share accomplishments etc. This stamp set struck a chord with me and the card I made today will be mailed to a friend I used to have coffee with before she moved away.

For the background I used the scraps from Regency Park DSP.

To do this I added an adhesive sheet over a 4 by 3" piece of Basic White card stock. I had already cut left over pieces of the Regency Park DSP into various sizes of strips. I laid these strips at an angle side by side until the entire cardstock piece was covered. Because the strips had spaces between them I applied Gilded Flakes over these spaces, creating a lovely guilded effect.  After the excess pieces were cut off, I matted it with a slightly larger piece of Crushed Curry card stock, followed by Balmy Blue card stock, which was then mounted onto an A2 Night of Navy card base. Some 1/8" gold trim was added to the Background piece before it was added to the card base.

The image was stamped onto Basic White cardstock, coloured with Stampin' Blends and then die cut with a Deckled Die. This piece was matted with gold glitter cardstock and then Night of Navy. Dimensionals were used between the two layers. A bow of gold trim was added to the bottom of  the image piece.

The sentiment, from the stamp set, was die cut using the Stylish die (circle)

Just for You - a Shaker card for #601 Try Stampin on Tuesday

 For this challenge I decided to make a shaker card.  That circle in the sketch was calling out to me "shake it up" - so of course - I did.

The theme was to use pastel colours, so the cardstock used in this card featured Crumb Cake with Seaside Spray.

The theme for this card was to use pastel colours.  Keeping that in mind, I used Crumb Cake for the card base, and layered that with Basic White.  On top of that was adhered a 3 1/2 by 5 1/4" piece of Seaside Spray card stock embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing folder.

In the left end, I used a Circle Stylish Die to create a 2" aperture for the shaker. A piece of clear window sheet was adhered to the wrong side of the die cut circle. Strips of foam tape were added to the edges of the Seaside Spray piece, pastel sequins were added and the shaker was born.  

A frame was added around the outer circle.  This was made by die cutting a piece of Basic White card stock with 2 sizes of the circle die at the same time.

Around the bottom of the circle, I added flowers and greenery from the Framed Florets stamp set.  The flowers were coloured with Light Calypso Coral stampin blend.  The Daffodil Delight in the center was covered up with gold Prills giving the flowers a bit of texture.  I also die cut 2 daisy flowers using the Dainty Delight dies.  I coloured only the center of these .  The leaves and greenery were lightly coloured with Soft Succulent blends,

After lightly shaping the flowers and leaves, I added them around the bottom of the circle using dimensionals. After they were set in place I added some Crystal Effects around the edges of the petals.

The sentiment was stamped on a 1/2 by 3" piece of Basic White .  One edge was notched and then it was added across the middle of the circle using dimensionals.

To finish the card, I added some adhesive backed sequins and a dragonfly trinket.

Adorable Owl - Freshly Made Sketches #566

 The new mini catalogue and Sale a bration is fast approaching. Today’s card was made for the sketch challenge with Freshly Made Sketches and features the adorable Owl stamp set, one of the SAB offerings.

The card base is Night of Navy card stock, layered with first Basic White, followed by a layer of Sun Print DSP (annual catalogue).

 These owls are really adorable. There are 3 different ones with the stamp set, but for this card I chose the little fella with the bow tie. He is placed against a backdrop of 2 circles die cut using the Stylish dies .

 These circles overlap each other. From between the two circles emerge some greenery which was punched using the Symmetrical stem punch and Garden Green cardstock.  They were distressed a bit to look more life like.

One of the circles is coloured using Daffodil Delight and a blender brush; the second one with Soft Suede.

The Adorable Owl is coloured with Stampin' Blends and after cutting him out he was adhered to the bottom of the Soft Suede circle using dimensionals. As he perched, out came a loud "Hello" friend (Fragrant Flowers).

Some clear Wink of Stella was added to his eyes and bow tie and Iridescent sequins added some glitter to the card.
