Birthday in silver & ribbon - The Joy of SetsTic Tac Toe Challenge

Every month the team at The Joy of Sets Facebook Group has a challenge. For January, the challenge with the Joy of Sets is a Tic Tac Toe one #JOSTTT001

I chose to do the silver, birthday, ribbon

To make this card, I used the silver blank cards with coordinating envelopes which were offered in the Christmas catalogue, along with the current SAB stamp "Lovely Lace".

After embossing the image with silver embossing powder on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, it was coloured  with Stampin' Blends.   3 different colours (Lovely Lipstick, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight)were used  for the flowers - Old Olive for the leaves. The lace was coloured in a light smokey slate.

The new stitched rectangular framelits were used to die cut the image, die cutting it twice to make the image square.  After matting this piece  with silver foil card stock, I added some 3/8" white silver edged ribbon along the left edge and a double bow at the top.

Dimensionals were used to add the art piece to the card front.

The "Happy Birthday" sentiment, from "Cake Soiree" was also silver embossed before being die cut and mounted on silver foil.  Dimensionals were also used to add it to the card front at the bottom.

On the left lower corner, I added 3 silver foil flowers punched with the retired Petite Flower punch.  After shaping them a tiny pearl was added to each center and they were adhered to the card using glue dots.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Cake Soiree, Lovely Lattice
Inks:  Versa Mark, Stampin' Blends (Light and dark Lovely Lipstick, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Smokey Slate)
Papers:  Whisper White, Silver Foil, A2 silver edged foil card and coordinating envelope
Accessories:  3/8" white silver edged ribbon, pearls, Silver embossing powder, dimensionals.

Birthday in a Circle - Hand Stamped Sentiment #305

This sketch with Hand Stamped Sentiments #205 immediately inspired me to pick up my Stamparatus  and create this card.

I don't usually make birthday cards using Basic Black , but I loved the contrast of the black with the Highland Heather which I used to color the flowers in the art piece.  It also contrasts nicely with the mainly Highland Heather pattern of the Botanical Butterfly DSP which I use on the top of the card front behind the art piece.

Using a template in my Stamparatus, I stamped the small flower from the Lovely Lattice stamp in a circle.

I then coloured each flower with Stampin' Blends (Highland Heather both light and dark, and Granny Apple Green both light and dark, with Daffodil Delight and a fine tip black pen for the flower center).  Tiny green pearls were added to the center of each flower.

The square art piece was then die cut with a layering circle framelit and matted with a Highland Heather scallop circle to form the art piece.

The sentiment in the center, from "Beautiful Bouquet", was stamped in Highland Heather and then die cut with a layering circle framelit,  It was matted with a  Highland Heather scallop circle and the two circles were adhered together using dimensionals and  then adhered to the center.

Using the new duo butterfly punch, I punched a butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly DSP,  After applying some clear Wink of Stella glitter on the wings I added I to the art piece.  Look carefully because the butterfly camouflages' well

A row of light green pearls were placed under the sentiment and a number of the pearls were randomly placed on the card front.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Lovely Lattice, Beautiful Bouquet
Inks:  Black Memento, Highland Heather, Stampin' Blends (Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight)
Papers:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Highland Heather, Botanical Butterfly DSP
Accessories:  Duo Butterfly punch, Small pale green pearls (non SU), Dimensionals, Layering Circles Framelits, Clear Wink of Stella

Lovely Lattice Easel Anniversary

I thought this week I would make some cards with folds.  It's been awhile since I've done that.

Today I'm placing an art piece made with the SAB stamp set "Lovely Lattice" on an Easel Card.  I love the Lovely Lattice stamp set, because, not unlike the "Peaceful Place" stamp set, it can be used many different ways.

For this card I am satisfying my urge to colour with Stampin' Blends.

There are many tutorial available to make this type of card fold and to refresh my memory I used the one at Splitcoaststampers although you can check on Pinterest and you will find a plethora of tutorials

The card base is a 4 1/4 by 11" piece of Lovely Lipstick card stock scored at  5 1/2 and 8.  Another piece of 4 1/4 by 5 1/2" piece of Lovely Lipstick was used to build the art piece on.

Using the Stamparatus and a 4 by 3" piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the image using Black Memento ink.  I so loved that I did not have to worry about the stamp falling off the glass plate as this is one of the new cling stamps.

I love colouring.  It's probably my most favourite activity  - especially with the Stampin' Blends. The flowers were coloured with both Light and  Dark Lovely Lipstick.  Shading was done using the  Balmy  Blue Stampin' Blend.  Daffodil Delight and a fine tip Basic Black marker were used to color the center of the card.
.
The leaves were coloured with Old Olive (light) and shaded with Blue.  I removed some of the color on the leaves using the Color Lifter and added Daffodil Delight.

I also used the Color Lifter to remove some of the colour on the petals making the flowers looks much more realistic.

Using the fine tip glue pen I added a thin layer of clear glue around the petals and then added Dazzling Diamonds.  Wow, does this make the flowers  sparkle!

The Lattice was lightly coloured with Light Sea Foam Green and again I used the color lifter to remove some of the color.  Then I added some Clear Wink of Stella.

The art piece was matted with a   piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  This was adhered to the embossed layer of the 4 1/4 by 5 1/2" Lovely Lipstick.  The Whisper White layer was embossed with the Lattice embossing folder and I placed small pink rhinestones in the cross areas of the tufts.

To keep the card open I added a "kick plate" near the front of the card.  On this elevation I added the sentiment and a button with some ribbon wound through the eyes.

Before adhering this art piece to the 4 1/4 by 3 1/4"" piece of Lovely Lipstick, I adhered a piece of retired 1/8" white organza ribbon near the bottom and tied it into a bow.

Easel cards lie flat so they fit into an envelope for mailing.
