Snowflake Christmas - Technostamper 238

I tried a different technique for this card for the Technostamper challenge here
I'll describe it below.

Technique:
The base of the card is Midnight Muse, layered with Whisper White card stock embossed with the Northern Flurries folder.  The snowflakes on it were lightly sponged with Midnight Muse ink.
The focal image panel was first painted with Frost White shimmer paint, and then sponged with 3 different colors of blue.  From the bottom to the top they are: Baja breeze, Marina Mist and Midnight Muse.  This panel was matted with Midnight Muse card stock.
Then 10 small snowflakes were die cut using the Snow Flurry die and silver glitter paper.  The snowflakes were paired up and a blue glimmer brad was inserted in the middle of each one.  Because 5 snowflakes would not fit in a straight line down the panel, they were off set from each other.
A scalloped silver glitter strip was attached to the left side of the Midnight Muse mat.

Stamps: Joyous Celebration
Inks: Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Midnight Muse
Papers: Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Silver glitter
Accessories: Northern Flurries die, Snow Flurry die, Scallop border punch, 1" circle punch, 1 1/4" scallop circle die, glimmer brad, Frost White shimmer paint

Sending Christmas Wishes - Sunny Challenges & Creations

This is the first time I have done a challenge with Sunny Challenges and Creations here  but the challenge is dear to my heart as I am getting ready for craft shows.  The challenge is to use the sketch with a Christmas theme.
Here is my card:

Technique:
The base of the card is Gumball Green card stock, which is layered with Whisper White , the edges of which are sponged with Gumball Green ink.  The Designer paper is Be of Good Cheer, which I embossed with the Snowflurries folder, then added dazzling diamonds to the center of the flakes.
A piece of 3/8" stitched Gumball green ribbon was placed about 1 1/4" from the bottom edge of the designer paper.
Image: The snowman image was stamped with Black Stazon on Whisper White, and colored with watercolor pencils blending with odorless paint thinner.  Dazzling diamonds created a bit of sparkle around the snowman's body and under his feet.  After sponging all the edges with Cherry Cobbler ink, the image panel was matted with Cherry Cobbler card stock. The bottom portion was punched with the scallop border punch, and the scallops pricked with the paper pricker.  This panel was attached to the designer paper with dimensionals.
Sentiment:  The sentiment, from Joyous Celebration, was stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White card stock.  It was punched with a small oval punch, the edges inked with Cherry Cobbler, and then layered on top of a 1" DSP circle, and then on a 1 3/4 by 7/8" cherry cobbler oval punch. A rhinestone was placed at either end of the oval. I lowered the sentiment unit as indicated on the placement on the sketch so as not to obscure the embossed snowflake on the designer paper.

Stamps: Snow Much Fun, Joyous Celebration
Inks: Black Stazon, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Watercolor pencils
Papers: Gumball Green, Whisper White, Be of Good cheer designer paper, cherry cobbler
Accessories: Snowfurries folder, Small oval punch, 1 3/4 by 7/8" oval punch, 1" circle punch, Scallop edge punch, Mat pack & paper piercer, dazzling diamonds, 3/8" Gumball green stitched satin ribbon, rhinestones, dimensionals, Odorless paint thinner & stubbies (non SU)

December 25 Snowflakes - Unscripted Sketches #171

It's so much cooler today, but the high humidity makes it feel so much warmer.  I went for a long walk and came home in a "sweat".
Maybe with the cooler weather the bats won't try to get in my house again.  Apparently the bats have been suffering with the heat we experienced in July and entered homes in this area in an effort to get cool.  I finally found how they were getting into my house - through a slight gap at the top of my screen door.  Now the inner door stays shut as soon as soon as it starts to get dark outside.  So far no bats for 2 nights - although my son and I find ourselves hypervigilant and looking for bats both inside and outside the house.
Enough about bats.
This card is for the sketch challenge with Unscripted Sketches here

Skating - The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #170

Yesterday was market day and I was very tired when I got home.  But for some reason after a couple of hours of sleep I woke up and couldn't return to sleep - so I got up and made a few cards.  My poor cats couldn't figure out what was going on, as their routine had been disrupted (as was mine).

This card is based on the sketch at The Sweet Stop here

This 5 by 5" card has an Early Espresso base, with a Very Vanilla layer embossed 3 times with the delicate design folder (a strip)
To create the focal image, four different stamp sets were used - Winter Post (the skaters), Make a Mitten (snowflakes), Joyous Celebration (the red bow), and Petite Pairs (the sentiment)

Stamps:  Winter Post, Make a Mitten, Joyous Celebration, Petite Pairs
Inks: Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Real Red
Papers: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Candlelight Series Paper
Accessories: Oval die, 1 3/4 by 7/8" oval punch, Word window punch, Silver glitter, rhinestones, 1/4" Early Espresso grosgrain ribbon, Delicate design folder, dimensionals

Making Snowpeople - Stamping 411 #267

One has to be politically correct these days.  Since the image has both a male and female snowperson, one can't say the children are making snowmen.
The card is for the Stamping 411 sketch challenge here

The base of the card is Gumball Green; the next layer Very Vanilla which was double embossed with the Stripes folder and Iridescent Ice embossing powder.
The image was stamped with Black Stazon and colored with chalk and a blender pen.  Dazzling diamonds created some wintery glitter.
Unfortunately the sentiment was stamped slightly askew.  I was going to fix it but decided to leave it as the card is hand made and one can accept some imperfections.
After the image was die cut with the labels framelit die, the edges were stippled with Pool Party ink and a stipple brush, after with they were sponged slightly with Gumball Green ink.

Stamps: Winter Memories, Joyous Celebrations
Inks: Black Stazon, Chalks, Basic Black, Versa Mark, Pool Party, Gumball Green
Papers: Gumball Green, Very Vanilla, Be of Good Cheer designer paper, Whisper White
Accessories: Labels Framelit, mat pack &; paper piercer, Stiple brush, dazzling diamonds, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, Stripes folder, dimensionals, blender pen

Inch Box Advent Calendar - Hand Stamped Sentiments #129

Today was market day, and I always bring work with me to do.  Today I worked on this advent calendar, the tutorial of which is  here  Brenda Quintana has even made a video outlining how to make the calendar here   The video is in 2 parts, but is very helpful.
The Inch Box Advent calendar was made for the challenge with Hand Stamped Sentiments here  - to make anything but a card.
This Advent calendar has 1" boxes made using the Double Petal Punch which are large enough to fit one small chocolate  (like a Hershey's) which I did not show as I am trying to lose weight and can't have chocolates in the house (they call my name)

Stamps: 25 and counting, Joyous Celebrations, Winter Memories
Inks: Black Stazon, Early Espresso, Real Red, Lucky Limeade, SU Markers, Tempting Turquoise
Papers: Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Real Red, Candlelight designer paper, Whisper White
Accessories: Labels framelits, Oval designer frame embossing folder, Pearls, Silver brads, Mat pack & Paper piercer, dazzling details, Decorative Label punch, Argyle embossing folder, 3/8" red taffeta ribbon, glue dots, stampin dimensionals.
