My Favourite Holiday Stamp - PCC #405 and 406

This week the challenge at the Paper Craft Crew Challenge are two challenges combined into one - a sketch challenge and a theme challenge.

This two part challenge involves using my favourite Holiday stamp set to complete the sketch challenge.

I have so many Holiday favourite stamp sets that it was hard to narrow it down to just one.  So I decided to use “In the Pines “ with some elements from “Snow Front”.

Using the new blender brushes (available in January in the new Mini catalogue) I used various shades of blue to create the wintery sky.
The trees from the "In the Pines" stamp set were stamped with Mossy Meadow ink, some using  2 step stamping, and some with second generation stamping.  Some Basic Gray ink was sponged under the trees to ground the trees and provide some depth to the landscape. I also lightly brushed the remainder of the image piece with Balmy Blue ink, creating darker areas for snow banks.

The two little deer from "Snow Front" gave some life to the landscrape.  And of course, no winter scene is complete without glitter and snow.  This was added by heat setting Liquid Applique and Dazzling Diamonds.

The wintery scene was matted with Mossy Meadow card stock and adhered to the left to a panel of Blue/Gold plaid DSP which was adhered  to a piece of Whisper White card stock embossed with the Snow Time embossing folder. All were added to a Night of Navy card stock base.

The sentiment, stamped in Mossy Meadow ink, was punched with the 1 1/2" circle punch.  Before adhering it to the image piece with dimensionals, I added 2 Whisper White die cut trees (top half only) to the back, and stamped some  tree images below the sentiment.

A double gold trim bow was added just below the sentiment.

To finish the card front, I added 3 die cut snowflakes to the upper left.

Moon Over Frozen Forest - a card that lights up

I love making cards that light up.  In the past I have used Chibi lights, creating circuits with copper tape etc.  However I did not find that an easy process, so I found myself using this technique  less and  less.

A week ago I discovered EZ-Lights, sold by Pear Blossom Press  and that make the process so much easier.

I also love sponging, and I used the new sponging brushes which will be available in the upcoming new Mini catalogue in January 2021. as well as the EZ-lights to make this forest scene light up.

A circle, die cut using a repositionable shipping label, was used to mask where the large moon would be located  on  a 3 3/4 by 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.
Using the new blending brushes, the following ink colours were used to create the night sky:  Pool Party, Mint Macaron, and Night of Navy.  Once the mask was removed, a bit of extra blending was done around the moon edges to give it a more 3D look , and over the moon surface so it did not look so starkly white.
Trees from "In the Pines" was stamped using Versa Mark ink and embossed with White embossing powder.
The sentiment , stamped with Night of Navy ink on Whisper White was matted with Night of Navy card stock , notched at both ends, and added to the bottom.
This art piece was matted with Night of Navy card stock.
Three holes were then poked where the lights would be shining through, and an X at the bottom next to the sentiment identified where to Push to activate the lights.

The poke holes are identified by a cluster of rhinestones.

After adding the lights, some rhinestones were added around and the lights tested.
It was then added to a top folding Thick Whisper White card base.
