Helping me Grow- SUO Challenges #152 Delight in Nature

I am a lover of nature - all aspects of it, so it was hard to narrow down what I wanted to make a card of.  I finally narrowed it down to flowers.  I have a large perennial garden and know the names and growing habits of all of them.  The picture below shows just one of the gardens.

For this challenge I used the stamp set "Helping me Grow", but I only used part of each flower, the rest of the flowers were masked out.
They were stamped in the oval non embossed area of a piece of Whisper White embossed with the Sparkles embossing folder.

  • three images were stamped - the third faintly to make it look like it was behind the other two.
  • colouring was done using a blender pen and ink pads
  • using the end of a blender pen small colourful dots were placed around the images.
  • butterflies are always associated with flowers, so one was punched using the small butterfly punch.
  • at the base of the flowers a 1/8" melon mambo ribbon(retired) was tied into a bow and adhered with a glue dot.
Main card is Rose Red, layered with Whisper White and then Rose Red DSP.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Helping me Grow
Inks:Black Memento, Rose Red, Melon Mambo, Perfect Plum, Rich Razzelberry, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Sprinkles embossing folder, 1/8" melon mambo ribbon (retired), small butterfly punch, Wink of Stella clear glimmer brush, pearls.

Thanks for Helping Me Grow - Try Stampin on Tuesday #264

I managed to find this dated Hedge Hog Happiness stamp set - SU 2000 - and used it on this challenge card.  I just love Hedge Hogs.  Don't ask me why.  I just think they're so cute!!!
This card is for the sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday

The Hedge Hogs were stamped with Black Memento onto Whisper White glimmer paper, coloured with copic markers, and then punch with a 2 1/2" circle punch. A basic black Scallop circle was die cut using the Scallop circle die.  The two were adhered together using dimensionals.
Close up of Hedge Hogs

The basic card is Wild Wasabi, and on that is layered 2 different patterns of the Pretty Petals DSP stack.  Each half was approximately 2 1/2", and a strip of Basic Black cardstock was adhered over the seam.

On the right side, a strip of Pretty Petals DSP was matted with Basic Black, and adhered to the card front.  The image was adhered to the center of the card.

The sentiment is from "Helping me Grow" and "Another Thank You".  Both were punched using the small oval punch and adhered to the the panel on the right side.

Three dark green pearls were placed on the upper right panel.

Helping me Grow - Thanks

"Helping me Grow" is another stamp set from the new Occasions Catalogue. The flower was coloured using ink pads and a blender pen.

Papers: Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Whisper White
Accessories: Blender Pen, Small butterfly punch, dimensionals, Lost Lagoon ribbon (retired), Wink of Stella clear glitter, rhinestones

After colouring the flowers, the images were stamped again, and some individual flowers were cut out, coloured, and attached to the original flower using a dimensional.  A rhinestones was placed in the center.
