Lollipop Covers A Tutorial - Create with Connie & Mary Color Challenge 167

Halloween is coming soon, and I'm getting the 'goodies' ready for the "trick and treaters".  One of my projects is to make decorative lollipops - actually I'm selling some - have already sold some.

Stamps: Batty for You
Inks: Cajun Craze
Papers: Basic Gray, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Whisper white, Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper
Accessories: 1 1/4", 1 3/8", Scallop circle punches, 1/4" Old Olive Ribbon, Lollipops (non SU), Sticky Strip, 1 1/16" Hand Held Punch, Glue dots, dimensionals

Making the Cover:

1.  Cut card stock  2 1/2 by 5 1/2" for each lolllipop
2.  Score at 2 1/2 and 5"
3.  Punch hole with hand held punch just below score line in the middle (for the lollipop stick)

4.  Apply a piece of sticky strip just above the punched hole.  Apply a glue dot on both sides on the score line.
Make Decorative Cover:

1.  Cut Cajun Craze card stock 2 by 2" and designer paper at 1 7/8 by 1 7/8"
2.  Attach with snail adhesive
3.  Attach to the Lollipop base on the front (just above the punched hole)

4. Stamp image using Cajun Craze ink.  Punch using 1 1/4" circle punch.
5.  Punch a 1 3/8" Basic Gray circle
6.  Punch a scallop circle in Old Olive
7.  Use stampin dimensionals to attach image to basic gray circle
8.  Attach this to Old Olive Scallop circle
9.  Adhere this to the middle of the designer paper on the front.

Add Lollipop

1.  Remove red liner from sticky strip
2.  Fold up bottom flap
3.  Insert lollipop stick through punched hole.  Ensure lollipop sticks to sticky strip.

3.  Fold other half of base down and insert under this folded flap (like a match book)

4.  The back of the cover curves over the lollipop.  See sideview below.

5.  Attach knotted ribbon to front using a glue dot.

Your decorative lollipop is complete

Scaredy Cat- Happy Halloween - Sketch Frenzy Friday

It's September, the kids are back in school, and its time for another mini blog hop with Sketch Frenzy Friday.
Today's sketch is brought to you by Kim Innis

I recently got the Simply Scored scoring tool, and have been practicing making rosettes.  This rosette is a partial case from the Idea Book and Catalogue  - just changed the colors.  I made the Rosette using the Bring on the Cake designer paper cut at 1" by 12" - scored at 1/4" .  Just a word of caution - when using the Simply Scored tool to score - use the larger end and don't press too hard.  I tell you this from experience - I tore through a few pieces of designer paper before I finally got it right.

Stamps: Batty for You, Teeny Tiny wishes
Inks: Basic Black
Papers: Basic Black, Bring on the Cake designer paper, Calypso coral card stock, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Frightful Sight designer series paper
Accessories: Spider Web embossing folder, Scallop edge border punch, Scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Circle die #2, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, Metallic brads, 5/8" Black Grosgrain ribbon, Stampin dimensionals.
