It's Your Day- Try Stampin' on Tuesday #327

This week's challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday has an optional theme of "All pastels or all bolds".

The sketch is by Kaylin.

I chose a middle of the road path - a combination of both.  I got carried away coloring this "crafty" picture and used a combination of bolds and pastels to create this card.

Masking was used to build the various elements, and the resulting images were colored with water color pencils and aqua painter.  The "dots" on the background of both the art piece and layering Whisper White were made using the now retired "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set.

The card base is Dapper Denim, layered with Whisper White.  The middle DSP panel is the new "Color Theory DSP".

Beneath the DSP are Dapper Denim glimmer enamel dots.  These are adhesive backed ombre glitter dots in the "In Colors".

Supplies Use
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Crafting Forever
Inks:  Black Memento, water color pencils, Marina Mist, Basic Black marker, Dapper Denim
Papers:  Dapper Denim, Whisper White, Color Theory DSP
Accessories:  Aqua painter, Stitched oval framelit, Glitter Enamel Dots, Dimensionals.

Now its your turn to create something using Kaylin's sketch, and you have 2 weeks to do so.  When finished, post your work on the Try Stampin on Tuesday or Not blog or on the Facebook site.

Be Creative Every Day - Try Stampin' on Tuesday or Not #326

For the sketch challenge with Try Stampin' or Not this week, the optional theme is "Wiggles  and Waves".  I guess one would immediately think of the ocean or waves, but I immediately thought of paint lines made by brushes.

This week's sketch is by Kaylin

The Cajun Craze card base is layered with Whisper White card stock and then with two types of DSP.  The left side is a DSP made by stamping one of  the Playful Background stamps; the right side  with a striped Cajun Craze DSP. A 3/4" strip of Tranquil Tide card stock, with one notched end was adhered horizontally across the card front.

The focal image was embossed with black embossing powder and colored with ink pads and a blender pen.  It was then fussy cut and mounted on a 1 3/4" Whisper White circle embossed with the "Oh My Stars" embossing folder, This circle was matted with a 2" Cajun Craze before mounting it to the card front using dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I traced the outline of the sentiment using the spot left vacant when I removed the stamp from its case.

Three small pearls that look like Tranquil Tide were adhered on the right upper card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Crafting Forever, Playful Background, Timeless Texture
Inks: Versa Mark, Cajun Craze, Black Memento, Tranquil Tide
Paint Brushes:  Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Gold marker, Silver marker
Papers: Cajun Craze, Whisper White, Cajun Craze DSP, Tranquil Tide
Accessories: Oh My Stars Embossing Folder, Black embossing powder, Tranquil Tide Pearls. Dimensionals

Now its your turn to create something using Kaylin's sketch.  Remember, you have 2 weeks to create something.  Don't forget to upload it to either the Try Stampin' on Tuesday blog site, or their Facebook site.  Looking forward to seeing what you create.

Crafting Forever on a Watercolor Background

I used all the new "In-colors" to make the water color background wash for the paint brushes, scissors, etc.  I also used the "Gorgeous Grunge" splot stamp for the last time to create a bit of a mess on the background.

I cut the images out after coloring them and placed them as seen above.

The watercolor art piece is matted with Basic Black card stock, and then mounted onto the card front using dimensionals.

The base card is Berry Burst cardstock, layered with Whisper White stamped with the "Brushstrokes" back ground stamp.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Crafting Forever, Gorgeous Grunge (now retired), Brush strokes background
Inks:  Lucky Limeade, Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink, Fresh Fig, Watercolor Pencils
Papers: Berry Burst, Whisper White, Basic Black, Watercolor paper
Accessories:  Aqua painter, blender pen, dimensionals

A Row Of Pens - a Masculine Birthday Card

Just 7 more sleeps and the new catalogue will be live and the stamp set I am using to make this card will be available to order.

If you're a crafter, like I am, you will love this set.

It also has some wonderful images to make a masculine card as can be seen by the card below.

The Emerald Envy card base was matted with Whisper White embossed with the new Oh My Stars embossing folder.  After added a 3/8" ruched Emerald Envy ribbon across the middle of the embossed Whisper White layer, it was attached to the card base.

The images of the 3 pens were stamped 3 times in a row and embossed with black embossing powder. They were then colored using ink pads and a blender pen - using the following colors:  Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Emerald Envy, Basic Gray, Rich Razzelberry.

This art piece was matted with Emerald Envy card stock and adhered to the card front using dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Crafting Forever
Inks: Versa Mark, Bermuda Bay, Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzelberry, Basic Gray
Papers: Emerald Envy, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Oh My Stars Embossing Folder, Black Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, 3/8" Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon, Modern Word Label Punch.
