Enjoy Your Retirement - Freshly Made Sketches # 430 and Fab Friday #187 An Eclipse Technique

This masculine retirement card, using the Eclipse Technique, was made for the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #430 and Fab Friday #187

On a 4 4/5 by 5" piece of Very Vanilla card stock, the image of the dock was stamped off  twice to create a faded background on the art piece.

The center of  this art piece was then die cut with  a Stitched Nesting Die.  The art piece, without the die cut was adhered to a Soft Suede card base.  The die cut was reinserted into the die cut space, and adhered with dimensionals.

.

On a separate piece of Whisper White, the images of the boat, 2 oars and a little frog were stamped, coloured with Stampin' Blends and then die cut with the Dockside Dies.

The boat was added on the die cut, next to the dock using dimensionals. The oars were added on top of the boat.

A sentiment, from Itty Bitty Greetings, was  punched with the Classic Label Punch and matted with a larger Soft Suede punch.  The little die cut frog is perched on top of the sentiment.

Supplies Used:

Here for You - Freshly Made Sketches #428

Everyone in self isolation or quarantine have been on my mind lately, and I chose this opportunity to make a card reflecting my feelings.  Although I cannot physically be near those individuals, I would like them to know that I am still "here for you"

This card was made using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #428

The image is from the "Waterfront" stamp set is die cut with a layering circle die (with a bit of one side trimmed off).

It is added to the card front which is Sea Foam Vellum (SAB) adhered to Whisper White card stock.  The card base is Pear Pizzazz. All layers of the card are die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

The sentiment, added with dimensionals, is from "By the Dock"

The inside also has some stamping from the Waterfront stamp set as well as a strip of Vellum at the bottom.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Waterfront, By the Dock
Inks:  Black Memento, Image (Basic Gray, Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry, Balmy Blue)
Papers:  Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Vellum Specialty DSP (SAB) Soft Sea Foam
Accessories:  Layering Circle dies, Dimensionals

By the Dock of the Bay Birthday

This masculine stamp set came in my order yesterday and I was anxious to 'play' with it.  I have been waiting a long time for masculine art work i.e. something that could be coloured.  I do love colouring as this is an activity I can do even if I am not feeling well

As what is usually happening these days, the card I envisioned in my mind was not the card I finished. Simply stamping is starting to make an impression on me.

I love the 'foggy' look of this card.  It reminds me of walks by the river/lake with the early morning mist rising off the water. This was not an intentional look.  I started brayering the area that would be water and only noticed the foggy effect when I went to ink up the sponge.  Fortunately I knew when to stop.

Balmy Blue ink was used to Brayer the water on a piece of Whisper White card stock, and  the same colour was used to stamp the waves.

The dock and shore were stamped on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured with Stampin' Blends after they were die cut with the coordinating dies. The shore was stamped and die cut twice so that it would extend across the bottom of the card. I also stamped and die cut a cute little frog. Do you see it at the bottom of the image piece?

The dock and frog were added with dimensionals after which I stamped some waves parallel to the dock.  The sea gulls were stamped directly onto the art piece as was the fish sticking its head out of the water.

The boat and a pair of oars were also coloured and die cut but I decided not use them for this card.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  By the Dock
Inks:  Black Memento, Stampin' Blends (Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Smoky Slate- both light and dark for the dock; Old Olive for the grass and the frog and Sahara Sand for the shore line).  Balmy Blue and Pacific Point for the water.
Papers:  Whisper White, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Dockside dies, Dimensionals, Brayer
