Build a Bouquet: The Daisy with a link to a tutorial

Students sitting on roof tops, or walking in their shorts and tee shirts, water splashing onto your car and sidewalk, bare sidewalks and roads, surely those are signs that spring is coming soon.  And, making flowers really gets you in the mood.

Today I made the daisy flower of the Build a Bouquet kit.  This was the most difficult of three flowers I have already made.  To help others who have struggled making this flower, I have made a photo tutorial on my tutorial blog.

These are the 5 daisies made with the kit.  Not one of them look the same, but the total effect is lovely.

Close up of one of the daisies.

Tomorrow the Chrysanthemum - should be fun.

Build a Bouquet - The Poppy

Today, as part of the Build a Bouquet kit, I made the Poppy flower.  Yesterday I made the Pansy.  There are 5 Poppies in total, and they didn't take as long to make as I thought they would.  Of course I had a video to guide me, a video made by Jennifer Lawson.  She made the video on how to make the Pansy flower as well.

Don't they look gorgeous?  I really had a lot of fun making them.

Here's a close up.

Tomorrow I am making the Wild Rose.  Stay tuned.

Build a Bouqet - the Pansie

I have set a goal for myself - to make all the flowers in the Build a bouqet Simply Created kit- and I started today.
Earlier in the day I separated all the elements for the different flowers in piles on a table.
Since I was going to focus on making the Pansies, I stamped the pansie petals using Island Indigo ink and the Gorgeous Grunge set (since I don't have the Build a Bouquet stamp set).

I found a video on You Tube made by Jennifer Howes that takes one through the steps in making the pansy.  So, I'm putting the video on my blog:

Here's the bouquet of Pansies that I made using the instructions from the video.  The only thing I did differently was adding the leaves to the stem with floral tape.

Here's a close up:

I'm quite happy with the way they turned out.

Now to tackle one of the other flowers - but not today.
