This card turned out very different from what I visualized when 1 saw the sketch at HSS#431. I used a left over piece of DSP from an event last October. It had butterflies on it which I fussy cut for this card. The butterflies therefore dictated the colour scheme for the card
The Misty Moonlight card base was layered with a metallic paper that had elements of gold/copper on a Pecan Pie background. Adhered to that was a layer of Basic White which I embossed using a Cane 3D embossing folder. I coudn't resist adding some gold foil to this piece. I used the gold foil and a brighter metallic paper because the DSP I used was rather subdued in colour and tone.
Three strips of the DSP (3/8" by 5 1/8") embossed with a polka dot embossing folder and sponged with Pecan Pie ink, were added to the left on the embossed Basic White piece.
A 3 by 3/4" strip of foil notched at one end was added across the strips of DSP with dimensionals. The sentiment (from Encircled in Friendship) was added on this strip.
After being fussy cut from the DSP, the edges of the three butterflies were sponged with Pecan Pie ink and then silver Nuvo glitter was added to various parts of the bodies. This had the extra advantage of making the butterflies more sturdy. Each was added to the card front above the notched foil strip using a dimensional. See pictures below.
