Hey Pumpkin - Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #349

I'm almost finished my swap cards for the virtual On Stage next month.  The key word is 'almost'. After a couple of hours I decided I needed a break.

I haven't make any Halloween cards for the Grandchildren yet, and thinking Halloween I came across the Inspiration challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. So I made a slight detour in my plans and made a card for the Inspiration Challenge instead.

I began by creating this spooky night sky, with its eeerie yellow/gray light and misty moon. It was sponged with Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and Night of Navy.
The tree stamp from "Life is Beautiful" was stamped repeatedly in different orientations creating those tree tendrils so associated with spooky Halloween scenes.
Near the ground I stamped some wheat
sheaths from "Gather Together".
On a separate piece of Whisper White 6 pumpkins were stamped and coloured, and die cut.  Faces were stamped on 2 of them..
They were arranged as indicated in the picture, the ones in the front with dimensionals.

The art piece was matted with Mango Melody card stock and added to a Basic Black card base.
Some shimmer smoky slate ribbon was adhered to the art piece and Mango Melody layers and a bow added in the middle.
To finish the card, some Wonderful Gems were added randomly on the front.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Life is Beautiful, Harvest Hello, Gather Together
Inks:  Black Memento, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive,
Papers;  Whisper White, Mango Melody, Basic Black
Accessories:  Gather Leaves Dies, White gel pens, 3/8" Shimmer Gray Granite ribbon, Wonderful Gems

oooh! What a spooky card! The key element of your card I think is your spooky sky. Your sponging technique is flawless and the use of the tree also added to your spooky background. Your card is full of Halloween deliciousness! So glad you took a break from your swap card project to join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
